Since I work close by, I go to Lahori Kabab just about daily to get my fix of their very well made chai(milk tea). It’s the perfect morning pick-me-up; less caffeine than coffee, smaller in size(hence less sugar), and just $ 1.50 at that. I haven’t eaten a meal here, but have also had the kashmiri chai(pink milk tea with almonds), which is YUM, and the samosas. Although both the chicken and vegetable samosas are good, I prefer the vegetable, with potato that is crumbled, not mashed into a paste, and spices that are on point. Pair with the raita yogurt sauce and it’s the perfect snack. One does not come here for the ambience and impeccable dining experience. It is a decent spot to go for pretty good food at reasonable prices.

This is another Pakistani place where they cook the food before hand and nuke it back in a microwave. If you are coming for authentic south asian cooking, you have definitely came to the wrong place. Really want an oily kabab sandwich with a super cheap price tag? You came to the right place. Another place for taxi drivers but if you are getting dishes other than kababs, I would make my trip across the street to Haandi.

Not sure how to review this place. In some ways its everything I love. Blue collar food in a black tie city. Which is awesome. The place is grungy and dimly lit. There’s a big display case up front with hotel pans full of curries and different kinds of kababs and samosas. They’re a nice lady behind the counter. There’s a steady stream of cab drivers walking in and out, occasionally permeated by an american who’s looking for an authentic experience. The prices are dirt cheap by city standards. With meals ranging from $ 6 to $ 15 dollars. Many items are a la cart. However, the food isn’t incredible. Its oily. Its a little lacking in heat from a temp standpoint. But its good. Its solid. And its not your every day meal if you are willing to venture out into the more interesting dishes. They also have some pretty interesting kabobs for like $ 2 ea. Worth a try. Not sure I’ll come back unless I have a serious hankering for Pakistani food. But honestly its just as good as the $ 20 spots that share the same corner.

I live in the neighborhood and will categorically say Lahori is one of the best spots in Curry Hill — definitely choose this place over Curry in a Hurry. It’s a whole-in-the wall, mom and pop joint frequented by many cab drivers(the best sign, in my opinion) and the food is consistently delicious and fresh. Not the best service ever, but the place has a lot of pride. If it’s busy, don’t be surprised if they stick you at a table with other customers. The counter ordering situation can also be a little hectic, since many people don’t pay until after they eat, but it’s worth braving. My recommendation is branch out here — don’t just order Chicken Tikka or Saag Paneer. Since it’s really Pakistani, the food has a slightly more savory profile, and they normally have Goat Curry or a meat-lentil dish which are scrumptious, and they always cook their naan fresh to order. Their vegetarian dishes are also quite good — try the stewed Okra and eggplant.

No thrills Pakistani cuisine in the heart of the curry district. Portions are huge, food is good, décor is ehhhh. I ordered the Chicken Seekh Kebab, Chicken Biryani, Chana Masala, and Naan. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Heads up, it’s a hole in the wall, but there’s something authentic about hole in the wall spots. If you’re in the area and need to satisfy a curry craving, head to Lahori. P. S. Reasonable prices, always a plus in Midtown.

I came here for a cheat meal after a long week of bodybuilding, i was craving for rice and chicken with a resonable price because one i start eating i keep on ordering without looking at the price. So I ordered one chicken biryani I ordered ice for the water I told them to lower the TV volume And then ordered a chicken curry. The customer service was good, And then the overall price was only $ 16!!! Which much lower that expected. Will definitely come again.

Food isn’t fresh, it’s reheated in the microwave oven and its not tasty. I am quite a food lover but this place isn’t worth the visit at all. The staff is friendly hence the one star but besides that if you’d like to spend the next day in the loo, do pay them a visit!

Came to NYC with parents and they were really craving a warm desi meal and the reviews seemed really good. The place was moderately crowded, and we were seated immediately. Customer Service The staff was very nice and attentive. Razia was very welcoming and helpful in suggesting a decent variety of dishes. Food We ordered two chapli kababs, two seekh kababs, a plate of chicken biryani and sarson ka saag(a curry dish made using mustard leaves), which was supposed to be their special for the day. The food was amazing; it was warm, delicious and as authentic as it gets. The seekh kabab and chapli kabobs were very succulent and had just the right balance of spices. The biryani was definitely on point and the portions were good enough for two people. We had the sarson ka saag with roti(we’re not huge fans of naan) and it did not disappoint. A lot of places tend to add too much cream or ghee, but not this one. They should make this their specialty, period. After the meal, we had Kashmiri chai which was very refreshing and delicious. Price Very reasonable. I would rate it 5 stars as far as value is concerned. You can easily get a very heavy meal for about $ 10 per person. Ambience It’s not a very fancy place or anything, but it was very clean and not very loud. Also, they were showing Pakistani news on the TV which made my dad really happy

Hmm not as good as I expected. they microwave the food right infront of you because they cook it in bulk. They could at least keep the food warm. Don’t get any of the empanada type appetizers because they will be soggy from the microwave. I got chicken and rice, not sure of the name. The flavor was good, everything seemed kind of dry like it needed a sauce. Cheap and good service.

Consistently good food. The chicken chargha, biryani, and saag are my favorites! The naans are fluffy. Great for carry out. A great spot to cater food from when wanting to host a Pakistani party. The service is great. A very homey & friendly atmosphere. There’s another location is Dallas, Texas which is equally as favorite of a spot.

Quaint, almost hole-in-the-wall place on 28 and Lexington. It’s always crowded so we figured the food must be fresh. We ordered the Haleem, tandoori chicken, biryani and naan. Naan and biryani were great. Tandoori was decent. Haleem was ok. Overall it was satisfying. My husband enjoyed his gulab jamun and I my Lahori kulfi which was massive!!! The service is super quick and prices cannot be beaten!

Food: Very Good Service: Very Good Ambience: you do not come to place like this for the ambience :). Ok so this is a quintessential Pakistani restaurant which is frequented by taxi drivers. The food has no frills but tastes really good. They have a pre prepared menu behind a glass display case for your viewing pleasure. You get in a rather unruly line order and wait for the food to be heated and brought to you. I will recommend this place for the food and the uniqueness of the experience. I suggest that you try their shami kebabs the best I have had in the city and the home made kulfi.

Enter this place and you are teleported a roadside restaurant in Lahore. The food, the environment(yup that’s your typical *roadside* Lahori restaurant), and the clientele — everything is authentic! From Chicken Biryani and Chanay to Shaljam Gosht they have lots of good stuff.(Takeout recommended vs eating in)

EXCELLENTFOOD! At first I was a little put off as the owner or workers don;t seem to know what they are doing or explain themselves. And thee’s not many places to sit. But don’t let it get to you. The food is terrific! Down to the Naan which is freshly made for you. Don’t bother with any side salad. Lettuce and onion is nothing compared to the other great food here. I suggest going at lunch for their $ 8.95 all you can eat special. You get a wonderfull choice of many of their top dishes. I will certainly return.

The food here was good, service was courteous and the prices reasonable. The naan were fresh and the biryani, kabab and the curry dish were spicy and tasty. the place is frequented by several locals. The manager /owner working the counter was very helpful in taking the order, suggesting items. This is not the place to go on a date, and not the place to go if you do not know enough about Pakistani food. The place needs a face-lift especially the rest room.

So it’s been almost ten years since I’ve been back to this NY neighborhood. I’m so pleased to note the changes to the area. Before it was a little quieter, not as many stores and restaurants, but now, now it’s a bustling thriving area full of Indian clothes stores, specialty food stores and a great variety of ethnic restaurants. I walked in here after seeing the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, halal sign in the window. Yearning for some really good food, this place hit the spot! I had the chicken Biriyani with chicken curry and boy, was it good! Perfect ensemble of spices to chili, this place will definitely have me coming back for more! Yum! I feel happy! :))

Lahori Kebab is fast, friendly and very good. I have a personal mission to try every Indian/Bengali/Pakistani/etc. restaurant in «Curry Hill,» and I keep returning to LK for their delicious saag. It’s the best in the city! Tastes like proper saag, with mustard greens as well as spinach. None of that weird baking-soda flavor you get at the mediocre delivery joints in Williamsburg. The comforting masala chai is made to order, which is a very nice touch. Naan is also made to order, which explains the rave reviews here– much better than the reheated stuff at most to-go places in the nabe. If you are in Curry Hill, and you want good food, fast, it’s smart to follow the cab drivers, who typically frequent Curry in a Hurry(NOT recommended!), Haandi(ok but unfriendly staff to non-Desis), and Lahori Kebab, which offers by far the friendliest, most welcoming and homey vibe. The TV is always playing Pakistani news, sports, or(if you’re lucky) soap operas. However, the bathroom is a little nasty(to be expected in a place that caters to cabbies, all men in general tend to be unhygienic IMO. Knock first!). The lady behind the counter is super-nice, she will come out and explain to you all of the dishes, she remembers my ordering style(to-go plus chai), and you can tell that she has fun joking around with the regulars. And the daily specials! Monday’s Kofta & egg is deliiiiicious! Friday’s Haleem is soooo good, too. Tuesday’s Saag is the best in the city. My husband likes Wednesday’s Curry Pakora. Thursdays, there’s quail– that’s unusual! One day, I’ll make it over there for Saturday’s mutton(which is actually goat– yum!). Highly recommended: Saag, Kofta, Haleem, Masala Chai, Naan.

An ez breezy spot for some fried street foods. I get the fish filet which they microwave or convection oven in a brown paper bag and its actually good. Trust, peoples! We have nothing without trust. Now lets move on… They have also chicken legs and different meat patties, lentils, samosas and limited selection of desserts. This is a place to get food directly into your mouth now, not deli now, but hot food now AND then scope out the room for a cab driver. Ahhh so rascist but yet so true. Think this spot izzy 24⁄7.

I was in New York for 4 days and decided to have some Pakistani/Indian food. I found LK fortunately after looking up 7 – 8 different expensive restaurants. The ambience is decent. The man behind the counter is very patient and kind. He explains everything calmly and in detail. We ordered a Chicken biryani($ 9), Chicken platter($ 11) and Vegetarian Platter($ 11). The service was good. The food was served hot and utterly delicious and left us wanting for more. I especially recommend the naan. It’s thick and tasty and you’ll love it. The chicken butter chicken in the platter was a bit too sweet for my taste but the chicken curry and biryani more than made up for it. The Veg. Platter was amazing too. So to sum up: delicious food, affordable prices, welcoming people. A must go for all.
