My family(two teens, wife) and I arrived a little early for our reservation on a Saturday night. the restaurant was empty with the exception of one or two other tables. I assumed that this is more of a lunch place, based on the crowd at 7:15 at night. Immediately we were warmly greeted and seated at a table. We were very shortly greeted by our server who was very nice. We ordered: Fried Ravioli — very tasty with ricotta inside! Yum! Calimari — my son’s favorite — he enjoyed it very much. Salad — typical, not out of the ordinary, but very good Meatball Pizza /Cheese Pizza — awesome thin crust pizza. Very tasty! Grilled Chicken(side) — this was amazing. The chicken was freshly grilled and the portion was HUGE. My daughter enjoyed this with her salad. Chicken Parm grinder — my wife loved it. Overall the service and food were great. The only criticism would be that the courses came out on top of each other — they need to slow down a bit. Especially when they only have a few tables occupied. I will come again!

Lazzaras Pizza is well known in the garment district. I have never been inside the restaurant but order catering from Lazarras at least 4 times a year for the last 2 years. The pizzas come in 6 square slice pies. I think the equivalent in size is 2 Lazarras slice for every 1 typical pizza slice. The sauce to cheese ratio is balanced and both have a delicious fresh flavor. I will say if you don’t like salt this pizza might be a slight bit much for you. It is sometimes burnt around the edges, which personally I enjoy. But I do know a lot of people who would not prefer burnt crust. Overall I wish I could give them 4 stars on food and 3.5 on service. When you place an order they always sound like its a mad house. I know it’s NYC but organization and not sounding frantic is key when dealing with customers. Our last order at work we had requested a tomato onion salad and it did not come. Once we called back their phones were not working. We finally got through and told them the situation and they responded saying they would bring it right over and it never showed up. I will always be a loyal Lazarras pizza lover because it is damn good but I think there is a lot they could improve on!

Left really hungry. :/despite having half a pizza on my own. It was way to thin not enough toppings. Waiter was really distracted. I understood him not really knowing the menu bc he’s new but he was rushing us(even though no one else was there) and didn’t really check to see how things were going

When I do make it into NYC, this is one of my favorite pizza places to stop into. The prices, are fairly reasonable. As someone mentioned, if you are going to get a pie, be warned that it’s probably enough for just 2 people… possible 3 if you have someone that only eats a slice. However, it’s a nice thin crust and delicious. The desserts are fantastic and usually you get a decent amount from there. Note that it can get busy at prime time for dinner on the weekends(5/6pm) but overall, it’s fairly quiet in here and a good place if you want to bring a date for something simple. Be warned, it can be very hard to miss. You’ll have to walk up some stairs and the entrance to the place is a bit confusing as to exactly how and where to get in(try the door on the right). Overall, not a bad place at all!

This place is what I refer to as ‘Old Garment District’. The best pizza I have ever had, and it’s made fresh. I will always come here and I want them to open a bigger location. I repeat you can’t go wrong with pizza, the pasta looks great!

This place is a hidden gem in the Garment District! I’m not really too crazy about the food selection on Fashion Ave but I am very happy I found this place for Pizza! I thought NO Pizza could ever top the legendary Patsy’s in Harlem but the Pizza here is up there! Super thin, Crispy, Cheese Melting hot pizza!!! AMAZEBALLS! I will definitely return. Place is small railroad style. I will say it again Hidden Gem!

Pizza is super delicious, but service really needs work! I went around 12pm, and the restaurant was fairly empty. I told a guy waiter that there were 2 of us, and he just ignored me. Then I asked if I should just pick a table, and he responded«uh as long as it’s not reserved.» I ask which ones those are, and he just said, «uh the one without the reserved signs?» I know that insinuates that I may have been the dumb one who didn’t see the signs, but the signs were teeny, and there was only ONE table that I saw that had that sign. I don’t understand why he couldn’t have just pointed me to an available table and seated me there. This useless conversation wasted so much time and his nonchalance got me super annoyed. They serve rectangular shaped pizza and offer it both in half pizza(3 slices, usually around $ 10) and whole pizza size(around $ 20). The crispy thin crust is perfection! I got the alorna with Mushroom, Peppers, Meatballs and Sausage. Comes out piping hot too :). The girl working the cashier in the back, and someone who seemed like the owner was really nice though! They made sure you were being helped. Tip: Gets busy during weekday lunchtime, remember to come early!

Wanted to like it. Pizza was just alright. The wait was RIDICULOUS. Over an hour for 3 slices. Others served before us. Sad.

Lazzara’s pizza is my go to place when I want a good thin crust pizza in midtown Manhattan. They never disappoint on food! The classica pizza is my favorite along with the chicken wings and salad. I don’t know what they put in their salad dressing but it is to die for! it’s a simple vinaigrette with red wine vinegar and spices but soooo delicious. They even sell bottles of it at the restaurant. Like other reviews, the staff is friendly but they are always busy running back and forth. There were a couple of times I asked for buffalo sauce on the side for the wings and they never brought it. Or I asked for a soda and it took 10 minutes to get. But all in all, I love the food and I would always go back. I will never forget one time a pipe had burst and water was gushing down from the ceiling in the bar/waiting area. Not once did they stop serving or slow down the service. We maybe had to wait an extra 5 minutes or so but the food was still served hot and fresh! This place is an institution and if you are ever in the area you must try! I have always gone at lunch time but I would like to go one night after work.

LOL K so 3 of my coworkers and I ordered a pizza to split for lunch for Pizza Payday Fridays– decided to give this a try. Knowing it was Sicilian and was an average price for a whole pie(8 slices) we ordered the Bianca and the Harris. Well it turns out the pizza for $ 20 is actually great for a personal pie(if you can eat a lot) or for two people(if you’re a normal eater). It had six slices each about 4×4, which was never really specified anywhere on the website. We all thought it was a normal NYC pizza. So we basically starved. Delicious and fast pizza though! Moral of the story: if you want to split this pizza with coworkers– only let one other person opt in with you. Their website is deceiving.

A small apartment converted into a restaurant serving pizza and pasta. Pizza is really good and their parmigiana plates is great. My favorite is the parmigiana plate because its a good amount of food and comes with a salad with a side of bread. I switch my sauce to a vodka sauce because their vodka sauce is so good! Its my go to lunch spot but I have been there for dinner as well. Eat it there, eat it fresh! It’s one of those pizza/pasta joints where it just doesn’t taste the same when it leaves the restaurant. The service isn’t the best, waiters are always running back and forth and bumping into one another. You don’t know who your server is but you are there for the food. The staff is really nice but when they are busy, it’s not a pretty sight. Cool place to go to lunch with a co-worker or friend but I wouldn’t bring a group here especially for lunch. Not that kind of place and its always busy.

This 5 star rating is strictly for the pizza which is thin, crispy, perfectly topped, and delicious sauce. I’m a pizza snob and often disappointed, but Lazzara’s nails it on the pizza every time. The sandwiches I’ve had are decent but not 5 star. The pizza is another story, one of Midtown’s hidden gems.

The servers here are very friendly and the décor is reminiscent of eating in someone’s home, which I enjoyed. I ordered the calamari and a whole pizza. The calamari tasted fresh and it was crunchy, not chewy/soft so that was good. The pizza was delicious. Very thin crust and lots of crunchy edges since it’s a rectangle pizza. I want to give five stars, I really do, but I have to give this place four because the pizza, albeit delicious, is quite small.

Meh-very thin and crispy pizza although the quality of the dough isn’t good. I like how you can order a half portion of the pizza for solo dining. The room is interesting and very old school. Worth the occasional visit for a pizza fix but definitely not a top-tier option. Service is sufficiently speedy enough that one can get in and out for a fast sit-down lunch.

A must if you’re in the city! Yes it’s a little small but you won’t mind it once you taste the food!!! staff couldn’t be more attentive and the food was too amazing for words! Eggplant Napoleon is a great way to start off and Tiramisu is a great way to finish. Thank you for an unforgettable meal.

So I was working late, really the only one in the office on a Friday night, and got up to stretch my legs. Walking around the office, I spotted a Lazzara’s pizza box sitting on top of one of the cubicles. Now, this is a fairly common sight in the office, the box. Sharing is caring, right? So, when it’s happened in the past, since I’ve yet to dine at Lazzara’s, I’ll open up the box to take a peek, and maybe get a free slice for my curiosity. Prior to this this was never the case. Always an empty box. But tonight was different. I initially dismissed the box, presuming, from my past experiences, that it would be empty. So I walk around the office. Once I’ve done my circuit, I’m back at the box. I take a deep breath, expecting disappointment, and decide to take a peek. Boom! Full pie. Pepperoni and sausage. I couldn’t believe my eyes. No one else is working late. What a dream come true. And square pies? I didn’t expect that. But it looked good. So I gorge. Three slices in, I start feeling a little full. But if I don’t eat this pizza, it will be wasted, so I start eating the crust off of the remaining slices. How old was this pizza? It didn’t cross my mind at the time. The first three slices tasted great at room temp, and the edges of the crust was still crispy. To make a long story short, I had a date at Posto downtown and totally ruined my appetite. Also, while I stand by my decision to pig out on mystery pizza, it was probably about seven or eight hours old by the time I tore into it, and had been sitting at room temp that entire time. So, while this story isn’t going to end with me puking on the subway. I did feel a little queasy on the ride home, breaking out into a nausea-induced sweat. But that might not have been the Lazzara’s pizza. And it’s not their fault I decided to eat it in less-than ideal circumstances. But it was a factor. It had to have been a factor. But the fault was all mine. Looking forward to eating their pies fresh out of the oven in their restaurant. But would I do it all over again? Probably. Even eight-hours old, it was very good. Those little pepperoni strips? They look way more appealing than the typical round red wheels. And the ground sausage was very good, too. Reminded me a little of Adrianne’s down in the FiDi. Lazzara’s has the tradition, so I guess Adrianne’s is more of a spiritual child to the former. For what it’s worth.

I was skeptical at first because even though I like Sicilian pizza, I was thinking this place was a foldable NY slice kind of place. My friend works nearby though and he swears by the pizza here and yes he was correct. The half pies are about 9 bucks and contain three hearty slices of which you may or may not be able to finish. There was just something magical about the lasagna pie loaded with ground beef and my favorite ricotta cheese. No folding, but this was a great version of pizza and I would also be a regular here if I lived in the Big Apple. Normally, I would try to sit away from people or not too close, but no choice here at lunch, but to sit flush next to folks. Maybe they should have an early check-in system to avoid getting that middle table. It seriously is like sitting on a airplane at most seats as you will have to get up to allow somebody to hit the restroom. It can be annoying, but it is a NY kind of experience I suppose. Food overshadowed that issue and even a week later I’m still trying to figure out if they will deliver to Arizona?

Pizza is decent, I like the thin crust and very crispy corners. The toppings are sub-par. The whole pizzas are small — square — six pieces — might equal four normal slices. Prices are OK. Very busy at lunch. Pizza came out in 10 – 15 minutes. Servers are nice enough if a bit loud. Did I say LOUD, the noise level is outlandishly high. Lots of voices bouncing off the walls so you almost have to shout to be heard across a table. They have a liquor license and a small bar in the back. Not for me.

After all these years it’s is even better than I remembered! The baking pans are approaching 60 years old and are broken in wonderfully. If you come here, I now feel we shouldn’t tell anyone else. Plenty of old loyal customers and we don’t want to fill the place with tourists. Like I have become. Top 5 best pizza places I ever had the joy to visit. 2 of the others that beat it are in Tuscany and Rone Italy.

Been here 3x for lunch. It gets busy so try to get there before noon or after 2PM or call & pick it up. The pizza is on point. The chicken parm entrée is good. The meatball parm hero is good. But pass up on the fried raviolis. The dining room is tight so not ideal for large groups or intimate conservation. Service is quick. I’ve had my fair share of pizza especially being a New Yorker I try it everywhere I go & this pizza is delicious & makes me return.

Walked in on a whim with my boyfriend and we were completely blown away by this hidden jewel. This pizza is amazing and the waiters were all so sweet. Their pies are thin crust Sicilian with incredibly delicious topping options. The quality of the toppings were also on point. Reasonably priced and laid back atmosphere. You must try this place! Best pizza I’ve had in a long time and I’m from Jersey! We love our pizza!

We ordered take out for work. I really liked this pizza. Very salty, but tasty. We also ordered a «large» salad to share. Not very large and only contained lettuce and a few tomato. A bit pricey too. 2 large pies, salad and 4 sodas ran us almost $ 60.

Lazzara’s Pizza Café invokes the feeling of eating pizza in the comfort of your living room… literally, because it closely resembles the set up of a studio apartment. But this is part of its appeal, so don’t be afraid to venture up the inconspicuous staircase of this hidden café and take a seat. Lazzara’s pizza is unique – a six slice thin-crusted pizza served on a lunch tray is a new way for New Yorkers to enjoy their favorite triangular-shaped meal. They suggest two people per pie(which in my translation, means I should get a whole pie for myself) and two kinds of toppings per pie. To drive us over the edge and make sure we left with an uncomfortable feeling of food coma, we ordered the calamari(I approve) and fried mozzarella skins. Because there’s nothing that says Italian like shoveling so much food into your mouth until you can’t breathe.

The review update goes that you really can’t sit here and eat. Maybe ordering out is fine — but do NOT sit there and eat. My date and i were bugged by flies the entire time. It was in the salad and just buzzing around the entire time. The food was alright — but once you see flies flying around you lose your appetite. Ok ok it was just the salad — but it was bad. Like there was no reprieve from the flies and gnats and you can only wave your hand over your food so much before you get fed up. When asking the wait staff about the bugs they didn’t apologize or offer to bring a new one — they shrugged and said it’s the kitchen’s fault. Oh well? Dang…yeah cross this guy off…
