Le Cachet Spa and Laser Center NYC

This review is for the customer service over the phone only. I called Le Cachet because I was very interested in trying their body/​mud wrap. I have a Spafinder Gift Certificate which I asked if I can use for a package they had on the website for the wrap and a 60 minute massage, and whether I can use the Unilocal deal. The woman on the phone kept insisting that I only paid $ 75 for my $ 150 Spafinder gift card and as such it cannot be used on their promotions and would have to be on full price services. She also insisted that they had no Unilocal deals going on when I was looking at it on my computer. I have never had an issue using the Spafinder gift card on packages or it being treated for its full value.
On the other hand, when I called Tribeca Beauty Spa, they not only applied the Spafinder gift card to every promotion they had, but also told me to purchase the Unilocal deal to use along with the gift card AND the promotion. I ended up going with Tribeca primarily because of the great customer service I received over the phone.

Went here toward the end of 2015 as a Christmas gift to myself. Although pricey I did receive a great facial. They will try to upsale you on products/​treatments/​cash tips, which clearly can be a headache and affect your overall experience. I would come back again however.

Went there twice (because of Sofia who is great). Unfortunately I would never ever go back. Julia (who said she is the owner but I find that hard to believe) is disrespectful and her attitude is atrocious! She became enraged because my mom had to cancel her appointment at the last minute (although I do understand the frustration with last minute cancellations). Important to note: on both of my visits (which were 3 – 4 hours the first time and 2 hours the second time) there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS but me in the entire place for the entire time that I was there (on both visits). Maybe Julia was so irrationally mad at the cancellation because we are the only customers? If so, I can see why.
Also, the $ 400 herbal peel was a «lemon» (it didn’t work). Even at half price it was extremely disappointing. Painful, inconvenient, and expensive for absolutely nothing.
There are plenty of great spas throughout New York City! Better customer service and much cheaper too!

Don’t bother spending your money, you’re essentially paying for someone to give you an exfoliating facial scrub because what I got was not a facial at all. Also, once the lady couldn’t get me to upgrade my procedure to 4 times more than what I came there to spend, she obviously stopped trying and just didnt’ care to do a thorough job. She did exactly one extraction after telling me I needed it badly. It was a waste of my money and time.

After reading glowing reviews I thought this would be my go to place for
Brazilian waxes. Unfortunately, a week after waxing, I felt pain from the hot wax that burned me in 2 areas, the growth of hair has me itching and worst of all, I now have 2 in-​growns. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I bought a life booker for 3 brazilian waxes. Getting someone to answer the phone was ridiculously difficult. No one answers, but you get a text message letting you know you’ve been signed up for alerts. Uh, no. I went to the first wax. Got in and out. My second wax, I paid more attention to what was going on around me. I noticed that she was holding the pot of wax in her hand, so I saw that it was low. And I saw that she was using one stick and double dipping, but I didn’t think anything of it because I assumed that the wax was being finished off with me so there was no need to worry about double dipping. When I was getting dressed, I looked over at the wax and it was back in the heating pot. What?! So, I went out and asked her if she double dipped. Her response was, «Yes. And I did it the last time you were here. It’s fine to do because the wax is hot.» WHAT?! No, no, no on double dipping. I don’t care if YOU think it’s ok. Why would you take the risk on your clients. Sticks are so cheap, especially in bulk. And the wax isn’t THAT hot. It’s not boiling germs away. It’s warm! What a horrible place. I had a remaining visit on the life booker, but I will not be going back.
One other gross-​but-​true fact? If your treatment involves using sticks in a communal pot of wax, beware of practitioners «double dipping» those sticks back into the pot. «If sticks are being used, and a stick with wax does get rubbed against an infected area of the skin and then put back into the pot for more wax,» Krant says, «it’s possible an infection could be transferred to another area of the skin, including the face or underarms.» —

I think these people are very nice but definitely try to you rip off. Don’t bother to get the Unilocal voucher because they won’t honor it. I went there for the jetpeel machine since their website said it was $ 75 until ³⁄₃₀. Guess what, when I made the appointment, no one knew about this special. awkward??? I had to print it so they didn’t think I was lying.
Then I wanted to see reviews and came across a Unilocal voucher. So of course I purchased a $ 75 Unilocal voucher for $ 50(saving me $ 25). when I arrived, no one knew what this voucher was. After an awkward 10 mins of her trying to decipher what the voucher is for, i was told i could only use for a facial. They can’t honor for the jetpeel machine because they would lose money since they also have to pay Unilocal.What do I care??? A $ 75 voucher is $ 75 toward treatment period! This wasn’t stated anywhere when purchasing the Unilocal voucher.
It’s ok. I needed a facial anyway I thought. Let’s do this. They laid me down and said that in addition to my facial I also needed a $ 150 enzyme treatment. What I really got was an enzyme facial but I had to pay for an «extra» treatment that supposedly was really $ 150 but they were doing me the favor of giving it to me for $ 75. Really? An enzyme facial is about $ 75 – 100, isn’t it? Now this enzyme facial is costing me $ 125 because they are being nice– because if I paid full price it would really cost me $ 225. So in the course of 1 hour, I received these «two» facials and the jetpeel. So I paid for 3 treatments when I really got 2. Then I was told I should get a facial every month. I have never in my life heard that. I have great skin. I don’t think so!
My thought is, if you want to run specials then they should be honored. If you don’t want to honor specials then don’t run them. But they use these specials to get you in the door and then scam you while you are there. I loved my face afterwards (Sophia) But I will never return because who wants to feel scammed? That extra ‘facial’ was a scam to punish you for bringing a Unilocal voucher. Id rather pay even more for a more ethical salon where I can actually relax and not be worried in being made a fool of. 0 stars.

I came here from a living social deal, and was very happy with my experience! Sophia, who gave me a black currant facial, also called me twice that day– once to confirm, and again when I was running late. She was nice and informative and made me feel relaxed and refreshed.

I arrived a bit early for my facial appointment, expecting to wait (which would have been fine) but they took me right away. The technician tried to upsell me a few times (you need this $ 150 treatment, ok $ 75, no? Ok $ 50)… But after I politely refused her three times we got down to business. I wanted to try her basic services before we added anything on. Honestly, she did such a good job that I should have gone for it! She was skilled, controlled, gave a wonderful face massage and was attentive to the areas that needed it most (chin, forehead, nose). The only thing I would change is the front area — it’s huge and beautiful while the rooms in the back are a bit cramped and feel kind of like a Chinatown back-​door purse holding area. All in all, I’m going back. Clean, timely, skilled, reasonably priced — count me in.

Very relaxing ambiance. Efficient staff and friendly service. Their prices are very reasonable for the treatments that they offer. I have been doing laser treatments for a few months now and am very happy with the results. They have a great atmosphere and offer innovative and holistic spa treatments. Would definitly reccommend their services to anyone looking for quality and reasonable pricing. Also the mud mask is amazing!

Absolutely the nicest people there. Professional staff, good ambiance, great products, low prices for the services. What more can one want? Mila is an angel sent from heaven. She has magic hands. I don’t know how she does it, but she makes Brazilian Bikini Wax actually painless. Second time there, first time writing a review.

I came here to redeem a life booker deal for a Brazilian wax and I think she did a good job. They use chocolate wax which, in my opinion hurts more than hard wax, but the hair stays away longer. There were some hairs left that I thought she may tweeze but she didn’t. Other than that, the staff was really nice and we’re not pushy with their other services. I’d definitely come back for another wax and to check out what else they have to offer.

It doesn’t have any of that post modern new age crap that you associate with an overpriced spa. I flew in early and I was about 20 minutes early. The great thing was that they said no problem we’ll start early. Went in the back to a room for my ipl facial. It was very relaxing. I even got a masque after the laser treatment. my skin looked amazing afterwards. I’m not sure if this is the ipl photofacial laser that produces a sunburn like sensation. I have fairly sensitive skin, and I didn’t experience any discomfort, perhaps they used a less drastic option for me. I would have liked the technician to have talked me through the procedure more, but she was great. Anything that makes my skin look and feel better is worth it!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly faces. The staff was quick to always greet me by my first name, even when they were new walking into the room. I already had a great impression from this, and they kept me updated on the minimal wait and invited me to stay in the ‘relaxation room’ where I just continued to read.
I received a massage from Mila who was extremely professional and the massage itself was relaxing. I have gotten many, many massages in my life in NYC, in other states and even overseas and this was one that I could truly just melt away from any stress and enjoy. The pressure wasn’t too hard, which I enjoyed, because I didn’t have to spend my time tensing up my shoulders in the «good pain» from a hard massage. I like just enough pressure to relax, vs trying to knead out knots and drilling elbows into ticklish spots. The hour, that usually goes too quickly, felt long enough and I was satisfied. I couldn’t hear anything but the music in the room so it was truly calming.
It isn’t a glamorous spa with gold plated walls and water fountains or anything, but it was clean, quiet and upscale.

Got a Brazilian wax and the woman who did it was GREAT! nice, extremely friendly and seemed to actually like what she was doing! She did a great job!
However I’m not giving 5 stars because the receptionist had the biggest ATTITUDE! There’s tv in there and I got up to watch the news and she gave me the dirtiest look as if I wasn’t allowed to watch the news; just unprofessional and very very unwelcoming!
Also they can update the décor by ALOT!

I came here after I bought a Lifebooker loot for a brazilian wax. I’m still considered a brazilian noob — this was only the second time I’ve had one. I have a pretty high pain threshold so pain is whatever. I have no idea who my esthetician was, but she was pretty nice. She told me that I’d get pretty good results with laser hair removal so I’m looking into that. Highly appreciated that she didn’t try to sell me it at their spa there. As for the waxing, it wasn’t bad. She did more strips than my first wax, but it’s fine. She didn’t tweeze at the end, which was nice cause that is legit painful, but then there were stray hairs here and there.

I went to this spa because it was near my office for one hour relaxing massage there. During the massage, therapist used a «device» to massage the head, which was really great, instead of ripping off my hair with oily fingers.
Place was super clean and staff was very friendly.
Definitely more enjoyable than the thousands of cheap/​shady spas around the neighborhood.
4.5-stars because they don’t have a steam room, or sauna.

Went there after purchasing a lifebooker for a Brazilian touch-​up.
I have gotten laser before at another place and each time it was painful and just dreadful (but with great results). I decided to try a new place and this was fast and the least painful. They blow this cold air at you and it makes things so much better.
The guy at the front desk was super friendly and so was Mila who did the laser.
Unfortunately it has been 3 weeks and I still have some patches of hair. Usually by week two all the hair has fallen off. I don’t know if it was the laser or Mila wasn’t thorough enough.
Although the experience was pleasant the results were not.
It is unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place.

Another 1-​star rating for being called a liar. I’m not surprised though, as I can only imagine the receptionist’s poor attitude and customer service skills were passed down from the owner. This business is simply terrible. Don’t blame your bad reviews on «scams.» I don’t work for Unilocal,nor do I care in the slightest if you advertise with Unilocal,but when a business calls me a fraud and a liar, I will do everything I can to dissuade people from giving you their money and I will wait and watch as you inevitably go under. There are too many spas that actually provide good services in NYC to go to an inferior business, lacking in people skills and friendliness.

Went here for a Swedish massage I booked through Lifebooker.
The lady who was my masseuse had MAJOR attitude! I’ve been to plenty of spas, both high and low-​end, so I know that service can vary all over the place, but still. She basically spent the hour rubbing lotion on me. I felt no actual massaging whatsoever. Lazy much?
When I asked for a little more pressure, she actually refused! She then proceeded to give a tirade about how I’d paid for a Swedish and if I wanted pressure I should’ve booked the (more expensive) deep tissue!
I’ve had plenty of massages, and I know that there’s more technique than dipping your hands in lotion and rubbing then on a person’s back. I’m also a very thin girl, so if I can’t feel anything then something is up.
NYC is oversaturated with spas. Don’t waste your time here.
