History

Established in 2016.

The original Le Coq Rico «The Bistro of Beautiful Birds“is located on Montmartre’s Rue Lepic in

Paris. Westermann also maintains other restaurants in Paris including the famous historic restaurant Drouant, Mon Viel Ami and La Dégustation his delicatessen. He was previously awarded three Michelin stars as

the Chef and owner of Le Buerehiesel in Strasbourg.

Meet the Business Owner

Chef Antoine Westermann W.

Business Owner

Westermann was named one of France’s top chefs along with Joel Robuchon, Michel Bras, Guy Savoy and Alain Ducasse, cementing his status in the culinary stratosphere.

Over the next 12 years, Westermann expanded his restaurant group with the opening and operating of seven restaurants in four countries, all anchored by his three-Michelin-starred restaurant Le Buerehiesel in Strasbourg, France. However, cooking in «the world of the stars,» as Chef Westermann puts it, soon became limiting and the pomp and circumstance of haute cuisine had grown dull and uninspired. He yearned to cook free of the rules that govern Michelin-starred cuisine and in 2006 he famously asked Michelin to take away his stars so he could focus on promoting the simple perfection of high-quality products prepared with refined simplicity.
