Liberty Deli Mrs Field’s

The concourse in Rock Center is always packed at lunch time. There are plenty of solid lunch options like Just Salad, Pret A Manger, Au Bön Pain, Potbelly, and more. Why give the small corner deli shop five stars? Because it’s the best option you have.
They offer a range of sandwiches and wraps but I go straight for their salads. Almost half the price of Just Salad with barely any line at all, you get any type of green (spinach, mixed, romaine), a protein/​premium topping (I always go with avocado), and then unlimited other toppings (I grab two cheeses, multiple veggies, craisins, and walnuts), add a dressing, chop it up and you are good to go. If you get a salad they offer deals like free lemonade and $ 1 Mrs. Field’s Cookies (how can you possibly say no?!).
The staff is really friendly; they move quickly and ask you questions fast but don’t be overwhelmed, they will take time if you need it. The price is great, the food tastes fresh, and the lines are short. I’m always a happy camper. If you want lunch that is good, inexpensive, and easy to come by, head to Liberty Deli, you won’t be disappointed.

Come here for the unlimited toppings salad!!! 6.99+tax for a small. Factor in the unlimited toppings and it’ll fill you up. The greens aren’t soggy or wilting so I’d assume and hope fresh and washed. You can get one main protein too and it comes with a slice of pita bread and an iced tea or lemonade. Great deal for lunch! I’d say they offer the usual toppings and they can chop.

I come here for one thing only: the unlimited salad bar. For a pretty reasonable price (for the area anyway), you get your choice of greens, one protein, and unlimited toppings. A win-​win in my books. I usually get spinach with pesto chicken, and eggs, grape leaves, roasted peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, scallions, and artichokes with roasted garlic vinaigrette. Usually leaves me full and happy. The ingredients are fresh, the servers are nice and efficient. What more can you want from a salad bar? Give it a try sometime =).

This is the first deli out of the station when I get off. AND NUMEROUS times I’ve given it so many chances. Telling myself, oh maybe next time. Well, enough is enough. The last time I ordered something, I got to my office and the whole order was wrong. I had to throw it out. This time, I ordered a pastrami, egg and cheese… Not only did I get some attitude for asking for different cheese, I also got some sort of processed, frozen meat, that i threw out when I got to the office and on top of that they charged me almost $ 7.00. Lately, I’ve been going to Lenny’s and I should’ve stuck with it. They have fresh pastrami, egg and cheese for MUCH less and it’s waaay good and with less atttitude and more friendliness. I’ll go the extra steps out of my way for Lenny’s. Never again, Liberty. I don’t know how you’ve survived this long.

So strange, I could have sworn I already reviewed this place? I used to work above Liberty, and would get breakfast there at times. The people are nice, but the guys who make the breakfast sandwiches, particularly the dude who works the grill, is in his own world (or maybe he just does not understand English). I can’t tell you how many times he fucked up my order. Eventually, I just stopped going for breakfast. If you go at an off time and order a sandwich, it is actually not bad at all. The home fries are good, especially with some hot sauce and/​or ketchup. The chocolate chip Mrs. Field’s cookies are delicious, but don’t bother if they are not hot (and avoid the mini versions).

2 eggs, over medium, on a roll, salt, pepper, ketchup.
This is not a difficult order.
Yet the cooks at Liberty Deli were not able to execute this. I could tell my eggs were underdone as soon as they were set on the roll, but they couldn’t hear me say anything. Then when the 2^nd cook cut into the sandwich, the yolk exploded all over the paper, but that didn’t give him pause, as he wrapped it all in paper, then foil, and gave it a slap for good measure. Needless to say that the sandwich I was able to scrape off the paper back at the office was underwhelming at best. And there was absolutely no seasoning.
Oh, and I didn’t get a receipt. The not on the register said that if you don’t get a receipt «the meal’s on us», but since there isn’t even any indication of where the line is to order, where, or when, you’re supposed to pay, and no one knows how to cook an egg, I don’t expect this promise to be fulfilled.
Waste of money, won’t be going back.

I work around here and a coworker of mine recommended this establishment because it’s more bang for your buck-​especially inside of Rockefeller center.
Deli: For a sandwich, chips, AND free soda-​the total came out to less then ten bucks! Add another two and get a soup.
I was just astounded.
On top of that, the food was really good and… Attractive.
I told my other coworkers and management about then so they occasionally go in as well.
On top of that, sun chips are a dollar flat. It was my life saver when I only had a dollar to my name one day.
Mrs fields: the cookies are awesome. They’re sugary but worth it. Cookie slices are also delicious but extremely sugary.
The small dollar coin like cookies are delicious as well.
The ice coffee is another good bang for your buck if you ask for cream.

I pass by this place every day at least twice a day going to and from work and only this week have I actually had something from Liberty Deli. Mrs Field’s can speak for itself — no need to review their delcious fatty cookies.
Preface: this is simply a bagel/​service review. I haven’t had their popular lunch special here.
All I wanted was a bagel, and my go-​to across the street from work did not have *gasp* scallion scream cheese. I need my scallion cream cheese. So I had my friend bring me a bagel from Liberty Deli, and two days later, stopped by to get a bagel myself. At $ 2 + tax for a bagel and cream cheese — cheaper than any deli I’ve been to. Bagels are decent here and the cream cheese has a sufficient amount of scallions. Wouldn’t hurt to make sure you have some mints around.
Service is very fast — these guys are really quick! They remember you and your order and have you on your way.

During weekday lunch time, it’s not surprising to see 50 people lining up for the Just Salad in the concourse area.
When things like above happened, I retreat to get salad here. The deal is not bad — $ 6.99+tax for small salad with unlimited topping, including cooked salmon!
However, I have to say, some of the veggies don’t taste as fresh as those salad chains… I still prefer Chop’t, Just Salad or Hale and Hearty when they are not busy.

Wost pancakes ever… I’d rather eat my hat, and my hat tastes like shit.

Loved this place for a few weeks. The guy in charge behind the grill seemed to be running a quick & efficient operation. Then he was gone, and it’s been downhill ever since. It’s routine to stand there for several minutes while the cooks chat amongst themselves & ignore you. Once they finally take your order, you can count on them asking for it again 10 minutes later («What did you want again?»). They also run a nice little bait & switch with their specials (e.g. despite advertising a 3 topping omelette for a good price, cheese is not allowed to be considered a topping & the price is jacked up a $ or two if you disobey other secret unlisted topping guidelines). I guess rather than focusing on customer service, they decided to rely on trickery to make up that extra $. When a place makes it clear that they don’t value my business, I enjoy taking it elsewhere.

Just your average sub shop. We were expecting a real deli. Very average. But cheap.

the cooks here are fast, which I like. not because i’m a hungry bastard, but more so because i’m a late bastard. See this place is right between my train stop and my desk at work and i have one of those jobs where once i walk in, there”s no walking out until lunch (maybe) so its imperative i get breakfast before work. The prices are better than Au Bön Pain and food is better than Dunkin Donuts which are right next door. you can also go here for those enormous Cookie pie things as this place is half Deli half Mrs Fields.

I currently work in Midtown. The Time Life Building to be specific. So I take the train to Rockefeller Center every single day. This specific area is probably *the* tourist hotspot in Manhattan with 30 Rock and Times Square in very close vicinity. Which makes for a barren wasteland for when it comes to decent food for a good price. Liberty Deli is one of those exceptions.
When compared to all of the other shops and restaurants in the Rockefeller Center Concourse, it’s a hole in the wall. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Subway and a Starbucks within feet of it so those grab the most attention. But the true Midtown vets know that this is a great place for reasonably priced food. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, chips, beverages, etc. It’s especially busy in the mornings for breakfast. Two guys work the grill and manage to slice and dice through the morning rush easily. It definitely has a downtown feel in there. Straight up, hearty deli food.
Stop spending $ 8 — $ 10 at places like Pax, Pret A Manger, Le Pain Quotiden and Café Metro every day and give your wallet a break. And grab a Mrs. Field’s cookie while you’re at it.

Sandwich, Soda & Chips Lunch Combo for $ 7.99 – you can’t beat that (especially in Rock Center!) Even if you create your own salad, it’s the same price with unlimited toppings! The salads and sandwiches are fresh and mostly made-​to-​order.
The service is speedy and the staff is very friendly. This place is a go-​to deli with my co-​workers and I. Plus, the Mrs. Field’s cookies on the side doesn’t hurt either.

I LOVE LIBERTY DELI. It’s affordable and UNBELIEVABLE! The service is amazing and everyone who works there is so nice. They remember everyone who works in the building (and even know my order!). It’s so quick and efficient and a good breakfast and an iced coffee for under $ 5 is unheard of in New York, especially in Rockefeller Plaza. After being told and directed to this hidden treasure (past Starbucks and Subway…) my working life was changed forever. BEST PLACE EVER.
