Liew Enn Kong Dr DMD

This has been the worst experience ever. I went in for a routing dental cleaning and Dr. Enn Liew only did x rays, «looked» at my teeth and determined that I had an incipient cavity and then proceeded to do LIGHT cleaning of my teeth with just a metal toothpick! His secretary scheduled an appointment to fill the insipient cavity. I was very skeptical about all this because I’ve never had a cavity in my life! I asked about the x rays pictures and I was told they weren’t ready yet and so I followed up calling the office because I wanted a real diagnosis based on x rays and not a quick look at my teeth. The first time I reach the office, Dr. Enn Liew answered the phone himself but said his office was closed and to call back the following week. I followed up and received a response from his secretary only to be told that the doctor would call me back. Since then, I kept receiving phone calls and they left voicemails asking for me to schedule an appointment for a filling. This was unreal when they didn’t even provide me with what I asked for, which was a diagnosis based on my x rays.
Today they called me again to schedule a filling appointment so I confronted them on what I wanted: a copy of the x rays and a written letter with the diagnosis. The secretary put me on hold and then came back to tell me the doctor isn’t able to provide x rays because they only have one copy, so I said fine what about the letter of diagnosis. Again she put me on hold and when she came back on, she told me the doctor said he is unable to do that. This is medical information that I am entitled to. It’s MY medical records and they are not allowed to withhold this from me.
There’s a reason why he has only ONE review! NEVER go to this doctor. I was hoping to find a doctor close to my office and I made a BIG mistake going to him. I am in the process of processing a complaint as well with my insurance company since he had the audacity to bill for cleaning when he barely did a thing! He should have only billed for cleaning and his «diagnosis». If I could rate zero stars, that’s exaclty what I would rate him as. There is nothing worse than dealing with an untrustworthy doctor!
3:20pm — Follow up of my review earlier today:
I got in touch with my dental insurance and learned that Dr. Liew filed false claims. I have only been to his office one time and he filed claims that I came in two times after the initial visit for THREE fillings! The claims are bogus! I’ve never had any fillings done in my life., Dr. Enn Liew’s license needs to be revoked and I am taking every step I need to take with the NYS Dept. of Health and the Licensing Board to make sure it happens.

So it was by a VERY slim chance that about 10 years ago I found Dr. Liew. He was not the original dentist that I was going to go to… yet it just so happened that the other choice was not available on that day. But boy oh boy — do chance sort of works it’s way around huh! I have not regretted the visit ever since. Furthermore, I have recommended friends and family who all have went to visit him for the first time and realized he was ‘the one’. hahaha. I know that sounds corny and all but it’s true. Who ever correlates ‘dentist visits’ with the type of enthusiasm that I am expressing? haha.
Well, except one friend who did not stay with Dr. Liew due to changes in dental coverage but she was seeing him for many years though.
Anyways, so my first visit ever was at the Central Park building (he also has another location in downtown). It was for a cleaning and I thought — WOW, after many other dental cleaning, this dentist did not make it seem painful at all — rather he was meticulous and careful. I mean, believe me… I am not the one to be hoppin’ along merrily to a dentist at all — especially after many types of horror stories. Heck, I even have an orthodontist in Upper East Side who I find traumatizing (even though there is not much ‘pain’ associated with that… usually it’s ‘aesthetics’, for the most part.). Meanwhile, I have had many many many great experiences and good results. Yes, I have had a cavity one time during a discovery from an xray, which caused me to thrust out of my seat in astonishment — I mean, I NEVER have gotten a cavity before! hahaha! So I was told by Dr. Liew that it happens, you know the usual consolation, but I appreciate the fact that he just wanted to get it fixed/​done and over with, with the least amount of pain as possible. (I mean, the drilling noise freaks me out.) but somehow I find that he is trying hard to be gentle.
Ok so another incident I had with another orthodontist who told me that he wants me to get my wisdom teeth out (all 4) — and i was like WHAT! I know taking out wisdoms are a common thing these days, esp all at once to get it over with. But I was NOT looking forward to it. I went to Dr. Liew and expected his same assessment results and after looking at my wisdoms — Dr. Liew said that there was no need because it was not impacting anything at all. He noticed the bite I had was fine and concluded that it was not necessary. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I mean, not only did it save me the time, money and most importantly PAIN. but to me, that warrants true integrity and honesty. To be frank — I have heard of dentists (even some who I am acquainted with) who just requests for wisdom teeth or small little surgeries to make a quick buck or two, and I have even experienced the worst. (pushing and grinding your gums like no tomorrow, with a reaction that is the way it’s supposed to be… is sooo nerve-​wrecking to even think about!)
Therefore, it’s been about 10 years. And sometimes I forget my 6-​month cleaning/​checkup and I get a phone call from the secretary. Yay! So I get reminders too. Personally, I like the convenience of the double location offices to choose from, based on wherever I’ll be on the day of apptmt. It just so awesome! My only problem is that sometimes if it is a busy day, it is a VERY busy day and I have had times where I waited quite a while. So after those times, I usually call in advance on the day of and find out what is the latest I can go there so I do not have to always wait for so long.
Oh, another thing is that the office is also accepts the flex plans, which helps a great deal. AND — I’ve done whitening, too. I forgot to mention that I left my famous Ivy-​League faculty professor/​orthodontist — and went to Dr. Liew to get retainers and other work done as well. Whee heeee!
