Came here to redeem a free bowl on the Belly app.
Looks like their «bowl» menu has a buncha healthy veggie options around $ 9 – 10, except all the meats and good stuff cost extra (chicken $ 3, steak $ 5). I wasn’t sure if the extra meat would be included in the free bowl promotion, and not wanting to risk it, I went vegetarian for the meal.
I got the $ 9.95 burrito bowl over arugula (you can choose rice, rice noodles, or greens). It didn’t really have any dressing but they were generous with the avocado, so I was content.
Would not come here and pay full price ($ 13ish?) for a mediocre bowl when I can get something much better for much less. Food did taste fresh though, but not my cup of tea.

Delivery from here was so disappointing! I ordered, they forgot half the order, and then when I called, the woman on the phone said «Sorry, we won’t deliver it. We have other orders to get out.»
Adequate food but wayyy over-​priced, and customer service could definitely be improved.

It’s really more like 2.75 stars. Local Thyme is deceptive because you THINK it’s going to great and then you get the dish and it’s the most bland set of flavors you will get. LT is a spot that consists of the concept of Dig Inn with more variety.
I’ve been here a few times just due to the fact that it’s close to my office and a healthier option. Just, no. It’s overly crowded and expensive for what it is… a whole lot of nonexistent flavors. You expect the desciptions to lead you do a great dish — let me tell you know, if you like your food bland, then this is the place you wanna be. If you like flavor, take yourself somewhere else. I had more flavorful chicken in my college dining hall rather than in that curry bowl (which is great in theory).
The one thing that I do give LT is the portion size. You can be very full off of one entrée. If you can get through it without dousing it in hot sauce or something to make the flavors stand out. The salad is average but I think Chop’t wins over LT.
I don’t like to go here since it feels more like a waste than anything but in a situation where I would have to, I would do it just because I didn’t have any other option.

Cold, old, and underseasoned, I would’ve been quite upset if I’d dropped the nearly $ 20 for the steak bowl with 3 sides (carrots, brussels, and kale) that a Belly Bite scored me gratis.
Also appreciate someone marking it «Ambiance: hipster» — huge space that was starkly empty on my visit, run by 5 or 6 people at various stations that didn’t coordinate their movements at all.

I love this place! All the fruits and veggies are sourced from local farms. They also have grassfed beef. I always order a steak omelette with mushrooms, onions, and peppers for breakfast. I believe breakfast is only sold until 11am so order before that time if you want a breakfast option. It’s the best omelette that I’ve ever tasted. Everything always tastes fresh. They have lunch options also. I also like that they have smoothies, tea, coffee, and wheatgrass shots. I’ve tried their vegan and gluten free pastries also, and have not been disappointed.
This place can get a little costly, but the food is organic so it’s worth it. There is also seating downstairs if you want to sit and eat. The staff is also friendly, and they seem like they genuinely enjoy working there.

Went there for a quick bite at 6PM on January 11th. Ordered the earth bowl, superfood salad, almond milk smoothie and a latte. The food was average and the service was pathetic. The salad only included ¼th of avocado. At 10 $ they could not even put a full avocado. We went to the drinks corner and the barista told us we can go downstairs and he would get the drinks. We finished our food and the drinks never came. We came upstairs to and one was at the drinks counter. Then the barista came carrying a broom in hand and told us rudely he was not supposed to leave the counter and didn’t even prepare my latte. He started making my latte without washing his hands. I pointed that to him and he said he is not touching my coffee with hands. When I asserted he wore a glove in one hand and kept making latte with one bare hand. An expensive and low sanitary place. never again

The Dragon Bowl was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. Bland. Overcooked vegetables. Not fresh at all. Do not recommend.

I went to Local Thyme on a Wednesday to mix things up rather than going to my usual spots (Dig Inn, Essen, Chop’t). It’s considerably more expensive than the other grab-​and-​go places around. For example, the veggie plate I got with 3 sides was $ 11. At Dig Inn across the road, the same size plate is $ 6 (small veggie plate)-8 (large veggie plate). The layout of Local Thyme can be confusing, but they had an employee directing people where to go to stand in line or wait for their food.
The food is cooked to order, and the bowls and salads looked pretty good. I was looking for a healthy snack, so I decided to get the veggie plate with the sweet and spicy broccoli, roasted butternut squash, and Moroccan carrots. Each was very flavorful without being too salty. A sign pointed out that although all the sides are served cold, you can request that they be warmed up. I really liked the taste of each, but thought the price was a bit steep.

Atmosphere– great space with seating downstairs. It’s clean and modern with an earthy vibe.
Food– bumped up from 3 stars because they cater to all eaters and the menu is labeled accordingly (e.g., gluten-​free, veg, vegan, etc). However, I was underwhelmed by the bland «Dragon bowl» with rice noodles. The peanut sauce was lacking in nuttiness and the noodles were mushy. The vegetables were cooked nicely. Nevertheless, I would try something else.

This place is decent for lunch! The food is organic, gluten free and very healthy!
I was introduced to this place a couple of months ago and fell in love with it… they have the best healthy options, the steak was delicious– tender, medium-​well and no fat at all. I was really content with the food despite the price. Also, the acai bowls are great! I think these are the best part of Local Thyme =)
I give this place 4 stars because recently, I tried the steak sandwich with Chipotle sauce and oh boy it was not great at all… whole-​wheat bread and chunks of steak with a dry tomatoes and the sauce… this was done in 2 minutes… it was not great at all… I will onlybe back for the acai bowls.

Local Thyme is simply the best healthy option on Seamless in midtown. I love every one of their salads. Although the glory days of the «build your own» option for delivery have passed. The market plates are also great. Most of the time the dishes seem less heavy and fresher than Dig Inn.
Where they run into problems is, like some of the other reviewers mentioned, consistency. They have occasionally forgotten key items from my order: from the chicken on my salad (no protein that night. sad.) to the dressing (seems like an obvious thing to always include). BUT, I am a magnanimous person so I keep ordering from them because the quality of the food makes up for their mistakes. They are delightful to speak with on the phone and their delivery people are great.

A great addition to my NYC travel stops. I know NYC has «everything,» but that great stuff is mostly in areas that are not super corporate midtown. When I travel there on business it’s great to have stand-​bys like this one to get an amazing gluten free grass-​fed steak wrap or kale and egg wrap fro breakfast and coffee with almond milk! They even went out of their way to find more GF wraps when they thought they’d run out.
The only con: the lines and payment system can be pretty confusing.

The food is fresh and delicious. I love the breakfast wraps and they have a raw vegan brownie that is some kind of good. I also love that fact that they post ingredients of their items. It’s a little pricey, but the price is worth it for the quality of the food. And unless you are a hedge fund manager, it’s not a place you are likely to eat at every day!
My biggest gripe is the service. I don’t expect a song and dance when my food is being prepared, but would it kill the people working here to smile once in a while? Also, the other day I was waiting at the register and a worker was busy wrapping up food and drink items and I was ignored. OK. She was busy. Waited a little longer. she had to know by this time I was standing there. Finally I had to give a, «Hey are you open?» to get acknowledgement and the little banana chia bar I wanted!

The lines are a little confusing to figure out, but I eventually got to the prepared food area to build my own Dig Inn-​style meal. I had the chicken, summer kale salad and sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious — I especially loved the strawberries in the kale salad — and I couldn’t even finish it all. I wouldn’t say Local Thyme is superior to DI, but the food and prices are comparable.

I love this spot for lunch. They have vegan, organic, gluten free and paleo options (but keep in mind not everything is organic). I love the bowls, especially the Earth Bowl that has chick peas, broccoli, cauliflower, rice and a delicious tahini dressing.
They also have sandwiches and a salad line, as well as some pre-​made baked goods.
There is never a long line and it is a way better option than Chopt or Fresh & Co. nearby.

As for the acai bowl, it’s recommended to eat it there. If you order for take out, everything in the bowl gets mixed up into a purple mixture, as they don’t fill it up. They have 3 choices of acai bowl. They’re all gluten-​free but the 2 choices that contains their Housemade granola (acai bliss, acai cacao) aren’t vegan.
Acai Tropical: acai, apple juice, banana, mango, blueberries, bee pollen, coconut flakes, honey.
Wouldn’t return for the acai bowls, they’re like half portion, not worth the price.

First trip here. Really wanted to love it as a vegan. The bowl took about 10 minutes to make by someone looking at paper notes. (I get that people need to be trained but during lunch on a business day may not be the best to not put your best person at the (only) bowl station.
I like the premise of the bowl, but after eating half of it the vast amount of onions added was so overpowering I started to dig them out.
I paid $ 10 for half a bowl of onions.

I came here for lunch on a weekday. This place is fairly busy during lunch hour and they have a variety of sandwiches, bowls, salads and smoothes. It basically everything you would get in a NYC bodega. But here is the difference — everything is organic and they have tons of vegan/​GF/​paleo options. Overwhelmed, with all the vegan and GF options — I ended up ordering the kale «seasar» salad, which was so light that I was hungry after 30 minutes of eating it. Flavor-​wise too, it left a lot to be desired, it just had kale, dulse (type of sea weed) and capers. Way way too salty. It was definitely not worth the $ 9.50 that I paid for it.
Like most people have said in their reviews, this place is a little pricey which I 9 out of 10 times I am ok with paying as long as the food matches the price tag. Next time I am either coming here for breakfast and getting an acai bowl or sticking to a side or a warm bowl.

Since my last raving review about Local Thyme in February, I have probably ordered from here at least four more times. Sadly, each consequent experience has been WORSE than the one before, so I don’t think I will order from Local Thyme anymore.
The worst part about Local Thyme is the lack of consistency in the preparation, quality, and taste of the food. One time I got the butternut squash + sage that was completely undercooked (the squash was hard…), while another time I got the squash absolutely delicious and cooked just the way I like it. One time I got the verde bowl full of sweet kabocha squash and generous portion of creamy pesto sauce, while another time I got a pathetic bowl with a squirt of the sauce and under-​ripe BLAND squash that tasted more like flavorless radish.
They also consistently forget some parts of the meal that I pay for during the delivery. I just can’t rely on Local Thyme to get things done right!

Local Thyme is a sleek little midtown venue,
And while they do have a lot of cool stuff on the menu,
(Acai bowls, chia pudding, vegan ice cream and more,)
The ‘Dragon Bowl’ I had was kind of a bore.
The noodles were weird, the flavors were weak,
Though I will give some credit, their veggie game is on fleek.
But the staff were nice, they offer so much, and they have so much seating,
So I think Local Thyme and I will have another meeting.
