Lorenz Latin Dance Studio – Manhattan

Want to dance Salsa? How about Bachata? Maybe you have a trip to PR coming up and you need some basics so you don’t look like a complete idiot. LLDS is the place to be (I sound like their sales person). I would never promote a dance studio that didnt know what they were doing.
I love this place!!! And it’s cheap compared to other studios in Manhattan – $ 55/​mo and if you take 2 diff dance classes they give you a discount (instead of paying $ 110). The instructors are amazing… Chris and Jose are truly great at what they do. I know Chris better since he’s my instructor… He’s very patient, has a great personality, and really knows his stuff. I can tell he’s been dancing for years.
What to expect when you walk in:
A friendly greeting from the staff– check in.
First 30min or so you learn shines. Chris plays music and you review what you already learned. Then he teaches the new steps of the day & you review.
Then partner work. You team up with a guy/​gal. Don’t worry– you get to dance with every guy/​gal in the class. Sorry if you’re shy but this will def help that problem. If you stick it out, which you most likely will do because it’s so much fun, the class will be your dance family. You will plan on coming to Friday night socials with some and join the student dance team with others.
I recommend you get your butt to LLDS Manhattan asap. Check out their website for the dance schedule and hop on that 6 train which leaves you like 3 blocks away from the studio.

This place is awesome. Jose is an amazing and fun instructor and everyone else is also amazing. They are very helpful and friendly and truly enjoy what they do. The socials are also super fun, everyone is very helpful and patient with you. They ask you to dance and get you away from holding up the wall. If you want to learn salsa or really to dance in general this is the place to go!!!

My 12yr old daughter takes lessons there and LOVES it. They’re great with kids and everyone has lots of fun. The instructors are really down to earth and approachable. I’d recommend Lorenz Dance Studio to anyone who wants to get their kids into dance.
They also teach adult classes, and every time I pass by, they look like they’re having the time of their lives.

I started Beginner Level 1 Salsa classes the beginning of April after years of wanting to try but being intimidated by not having a partner to join me. Well… this place is great and no partner necessary! The instructor, Chris, is super nice, very knowledgeable, tons of good energy and the class moves at a pace where everyone has a chance to learn the steps. It’s also really affordable – I paid $ 55 for four weekly 2-​hour classes.
Once the first month is over, the class proceeds to Beginner Level 2 and so on. I just started my second month and plan to stick with it and maybe attend a couple of the Friday night socials.
I highly recommend this studio for anyone interested in dance lessons!
