Loyola School

The professors were nuturing, the classes were difficult yet engaging, and the students were nothing like characters on Gossip Girl. I’m thankful to have gone here.

Good school but they lack many sports programs and organizations for the price of their tuition. However despite being one of the better schools in New York it falls short against their competing local Jesuit schools or private schools. It would be in the middle of the pack against them.

I didn’t go here, but a good friend did, and we played them in Volleyball in the GISAL league! They were great opponents, and I know Cathy loved going here, so rock on. If I were Catholic, I would probably send my kids here rather than other Catholic schools, as the kids seem less stuck up and obnoxious than most other private schools.

Some of the best times of my life were thanks to Loyola. I went to High School here from 95′- 99′ and loved it. Not for the faint of heart, Loyola is a co-​ed independent Jesuit (Catholic) institution located in a townhouse-​like building on 83^rd St and Park Avenue. Loyola has grades 9 – 12 with each class graduating 50 students on average. The academics are tough but definitely prepare the students for college. They participate in the ISAL/​GISAL league and compete against other smaller private schools in the 5 boros. If you’re not one for getting dressed up, wearing a blazer on a regular basis, and going to church this may not be the place for you. The Alumni association is strong and thanks to their newest President, Father Steve Katsouras, Loyola is sure to attract the cream of the crop for years to come!
