MAC Cosmetics

I came into this store ready to spend $. However, the makeup artists that weren’t assisting customers were standing around either talking to each other or standing around. Not one person greeted me or asked if I needed help.
I finally asked for help and I was told to «hold on a moment». That moment lasted longer than 5 minutes.
I left. Walked over to Sephora and spent my $ there.
I love MAC. I wish I didn’t have to go thru the makeup artists to get to the makeup.

This is my favorite MAC store! It’s in the busy Theatre/​Times Square district so it’s always busy. I always know what I want so I don’t need help from sales assistants, so I like that they don’t bother me lol
I love the loud music, it’s like going to da club for makeup, fun!

Beautiful store… But I’ve been here 10 mins and not a single person has asked me if I need help. There’s also way too many staff just standing around looking bored $&;(less. I thought this was supposed to be their dream job? The 2 stars is coz the store is neat and nice and big. Big too loud like a club.

This Mac store has everything any other location would have. Nothing more, nothing less. Except for its insane lines and crowds due to being in Times Square. Unless you’re into not being able to get help to find a product or waiting in line for 20 minutes, skip this location. There are a few more in the surrounding area without all the tourism.

Im a Die Hard Sephora girl. I’ve tried MAC products in the past but I’ve always said I hate their service. The only reason I came to a MAC store again was because my cousin wanted to try it out I warned her that the experience is horrid and their products don’t justify it at all. I get it it’s Times Square it gets crazy but these people are so lazy they were literally standing in a circle talking to each other we were looking around to see if anyone would look up so we could ask for help no one did. Finally I went up to one of the girls and asked for the lipstick shades we wanted to purchase and just got out of there. You want good customer service? Go to Sephora which was our next stop were we had a much better experience with a lovely Sephora make up artist who CAME UP TO US !!! to make sure we were okay and proceeded to help us ! Love you Sephora can never say the same for MAC.

I’m a hairdresser and a makeup artist. I all my tools and makeup in a cab the night before and Maggie came to rescue. She was so sweet and helpful!

Angelina was so sweet to my daughter and myself! We went in there to ask for ideas for a new look for us to wear that night at Les Miserables. No one really wanted to help out until Angelina saw us looking and asked. She did both of our eyes and we bought! We did the rest at the hotel. She didn’t have to do it, but she went over and above customer service!!! Precious young lady!

Customer service is a hit or miss. Last time I went they were all huddled up talking to each other, and when one does help they have a lack of patience of trying to get the best product for you. Better to go here if you just want a replacement, not actually try stuff out.

As a makeup passionate, it‘s my favorite store by far ! Amazing lipstick collection. My favorite one is the heroin lipstick. Very good customer service in each MAC store I go to. I love the fact that the sellers are all wearing black clothes and always with a perfect professional makeup. I repeat THE BEST STORE EVER !!

Super packed but once you get a sales associates attention, they’re very friendly and informative I love it!

I don’t know why this location doesn’t have good reviews. Yes, I’ve had to ASK for help instead of being approached on occasion but I’ve been here numerous times and every single SA who’s ever helped me has been nothing but nice and helpful. I will continue to come here. BTW they always have the limited edition collections, which is a huge plus for me.

I asked for assistance finding a new lipstick, and the make up stylist couldn’t have been more rude. She told me my request was «subjective» and after she handed me the lipstick, she walked away and didn’t ask how things were or check on me. It was among the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and I don’t want to give Mac my business.

Came here for a friend, she was looking to buy some concealor. I honestly did not want to leave since there was a LIVE DJ, yes I said a LIVE DJ, on the premises and it was like a night club. I just wanted to keep dancing but I was afraid they’d throw me out lol Either way, I’d visit just for the music.

Hate this Mac store. Avoid coming here because of course it’s in the middle of Times Square so it’s always jam packed and it’ll be quite a while until you can finally fly down one of the busy MAC workers who are friendly but kind of rush you because of the amount of people. Any other location is a much safer bet.

Terrible customer service. I was greeted when I walked in by a super cheerful male associate. However I couldn’t help but notice and hear 5 associates standing in a group laughing, talking and using profanity and ignoring customers. I had to asked for assistance. My checkout process was pleasant. The cashier was friendly and patient. I returned 6 empty containers for a lipgloss but the cashier informed me that viva la glam products are not included in the promotion, I said ok can I get myth lipstick he said sure and went to grab the lipstick. I love Mac products but I don’t think I will be returning to this location.

Really horrible customer service. Should you ever find yourself in need of MAC products and also somehow in the neon hellhole that is Times Square, do yourself a favor and head to one of their nicer stores (Columbus Ave & 66^th has really nice staff and isn’t as busy usually, and Grand Central’s shop is small but still much more helpful).
I came in to exchange some empty MAC containers for a free eyeshadow (this is a recycling program that they do at all of their stores, but not at department store counters, FYI), and was passed off from one associate to another. The girl who grabbed the color I wanted was all over the place and said she’d meet me at the register in an exasperated tone. I said I was ready to check out, and she said she would follow me to cash-​wrap. She did, but pretty much ignored me after dropping my shadow off with the guy running the register. Dude was on the phone and said he’d be one minute– I waited for a few minutes, and he was still on the phone while ringing items up. He signaled to me to swipe my card, but I noticed whatever he scanned was not mine. I pointed this out, he said to give him another minute. Another customer who’d already paid came up and tried to get his attention– she wanted to know if he’d charged her for the bronzer she was getting. He grabbed her receipt and said no, and she said, «ok, well I think it should be at the register, can I buy that, too?» Without checking to see if it was in front of him he condescendingly replied, «You have to go out front and get it. I only work the register, hon.»
Yeah, I get the attitude, kind of. I’ve worked chain store retail and it mostly sucks and customers can be really awful. I felt like this girl and I were both pretty polite and not entitled or cranky, but the cash wrap dude was still the type that made me leave feeling like I shouldn’t spend my money at MAC anymore. He sort of treated us both like the-​customer-​is-​always-​wrong, which is just unnecessary. Whatever, I mostly feel bad for him that they’ve got this club music blasting while he’s trying to juggle a phone call, sales, and exchanges by himself at the register.
Just a depressing atmosphere full of unhappy associates and customers. But like I said, it’s Times Square, so what more do you expect?

Which woman in their right mind doesn’t like MAC? Then again, how many women are usually in their right minds? Just kidding :-)
If I wanted foundation to make me flawless, pigment to make me pop, or any shade of glittery lip gloss to stop any man in their tracks, this place would be it. It’s either I know too much or too little about the world of cosmetology, but ideally I would like to relish in the fact that I have some inkling as to what makes a woman tick, dazzle, shine, etc. and all that jazz it’s all available here at MAC. Are the prices a little overboard? Perhaps, but in all honesty you get what you pay for which is a quality product that any woman would feel proud to wear.
Any MAC store which I’ve wandered into has always provided immaculate customer service. The associates are always very amiable, knowledgeable, decisive and also, very, very easy on the eyes. ;-)
Most of the time, I usually know what gift (s) I’m shopping for and I’m in and out within less than ten minutes. NO harm done, no sensory overload and no confused/​dazed faces about what to buy.
At the end of the day, MAC makes you feel like a «natural» woman, or at least so I’ve been told. :-)

when girls put on extra dark lipstick it gives me the illusion that they died and are still walking this earth… i don’t know might just be me…
It really depends on the type of product you are looking for. .
To me i feel like MAC is infamous for selling face makeup that breaks people out… I have really sensitive skin so i use particular make up. lotions…and even face cleanses… my friend loves and buy MAC and she often tells me a lot the foundation can led to the little red spots on face… certain face cream and powder so be careful… Also… I find that most of their foundations/​powders look too cakey and done up… With MAC… it’s obvious that you have makeup on… and thats not how you really wear makeup… so if you prefer the natural look… I would avoid MAC!
I like MAC’s eyeshadows… I think their really colorfully and bright… MAC’s lip products tend to be hit or miss… will in my opinion… I’ve come across some that I adore while others… I felt as if I wasted $ 20 plus dollars…
The store is actually somewhat small epically where it’s located… right in the heart of time square… but their are a lot of employes… and lots of shoppers so I guess that’s a good thing…

I wish I read the reviews before I went on here. The service was so bad which was a complete shock because at any other MAC store I’ve ever been in that is not the case. To start with I don’t recall being greeted when I came. It took me forever to find someone to help me but not because they were all busy with customers. There were several standing around talking to each other (5+) and in one group they wouldn’t even acknowledge my presence. One woman coming from the back did see me and asked if I needed help and flagged down someone to come help me. That lady was horrible, dismissive and not at all helpful. Not sure her name with the blue/​green hair but you like 90% of the staff in there could use a refresher or seminar on customer service. I did eventually track down someone who was helpful and after waiting 15mins my product was eventually grabbed so I could pay.
If I wasn’t already a MAC loyalist who knows that this BS low level of customer service isn’t the standard in the company, you’d have me never buying the products again.

You know what your getting if you are a MAC user, so I will save the product chatter… However the customer service at this Times Square mac sucks. You will get a greeting as you enter but there will be no further inquiries to see if you need assistance in looking for a particular product or if you need advice from a makeup professional. If you are a tourist you will get better service. My advice would be to skip this store if you need help or advice, patronize only if you don’t mint limited interaction from staff.
