I have over 20 years of photographic experience in

wedding, advertising, architecture, documentary, portraiture, food, fashion, glamour and fine art.

I have exhibited my art internationally.

I have worked for the past 12 years at several major ad agencies

as the photographer, photo editor, retoucher, prepress specialist and creative director

overseeing final graphic and photographic sign off for major consumer brands.

I can oversee the entire workflow, from image acquisition to the finished product:

album, prints, web album, etc.

In my day to day photographic work I’m not only aesthetically driven but technologically savvy.

I live and work in The East Village in Manhattan.

I have done two shoots with Maciek. First one was in Central Park with my son who was two at the time.
He made us very comfortable. Felt like we’d been old friends, walking around and taking some pics.
Not only did I cry when I saw the results, all my friends and family did too. It was unbelievable what he captured, which was simply the loving bond between a mother and son, with an amazing backdrop.
I just finished a light painting session with him, kind of like a boudoir but more mysterious. It was so innovative, and made me feel beautiful. Check out the concept on his website, and book a session of any kind with Maciek.
He’s a great man, and a virtuoso photographer!

I contacted him when I was looking for a photographer for the small business that I manage. We came to terms pretty quickly and he even stopped by the day before to take a look at the place and hammer down last-​minute details. He was friendly, made us feel comfortable during the headshots-​portion of the shoot and he took some really interesting photos from perspectives I would not have thought of. He took a huge amount of photographs, so we have lots of options to choose from and they are really beautiful — the color are bright and the composition is great. All in all, no complaints, he did a wonderful job at a very fair price!

You can’t go wrong with Maciek! We were 20 min late to our photoshoot as I could not find the place that I picked out for a meeting spot so our session was shorter than expected. BUT, Maciek generously gave me an extra 10 min without me asking and he still managed to provide me with incredible pictures! My kids who are 4 and 8 loved every minute of it. Maciek made them feel very comfortable … so comfortable that my 8 year old began telling him how and where he wants the shots to be taken. Maciek was such a good sport — he listened to his suggestions and tweaked it where he thought necessary. The images I got were amazing and priceless! Maciek truly captured everything that I wanted and more. I haven’t had much luck finding a good photographer but Maciek is definitely a keeper!

Can’t say enough good things about Maciek. Found him on Livingsocial and wasn’t sure what to expect but even if I would have had expectations, he would have exceeded them. Extremely nice and flexible and just a pleasure to work with. I got the pictures (as promised) 3 days after the photo shoot and loved them all. Pictures are all very creative and beautifully edited. Now I’m kicking myself for not having met Maciek sooner! Will definitely be working with him in the future and highly recommend you do as well.

We met up with Maciek in Central Park for a mid-​morning Fall family picture shoot. He was professional and generous with his time. He did a great job making the kids feel comfortable and capturing their natural smiles and expressions. Maciek was prompt about sending us the digital pictures and we were very pleased with the photographs. There were several gems and it will be hard to decide which ones to print! Thanks Maciek!

Highly recommend Maciek Macak’s photography! I hired him for a family photoshoot (with two unpredictable toddlers) and he was very professional. He respected all of my ideas and he managed to get both of my kids to relax and cooperate — not easy!
Most importantly, the turnaround for the photos was ridiculously fast. I have hired other photographers for shoots and I usually I have to follow up for weeks just to get some digital images. Maciek had mine ready in less than 24 hours!!! He’s good.

My family spent the summer in NYC and we wanted to capture something special. After communicating with Maciek via email and phone we decided to meet on the High Line. My family and I had a ball with Maciek. He was extremely easy to work with and made his craft look easy. After an hour of strolling around Central Park and chatting away with us, we had a amazing collection of photos to choose from. He quickly sent us the final product and we were amazed with results. I recently booked Maciek for an engagement session. He was extremely professional from the beginning to end. Our schedules were tight, but he did a great job accommodating us and even waited through a thunderstorm to do the shoot. The photos were exactly what we were looking for. Before the session, he talked to me about the concept of the shoot and went above and beyond to make sure we got all the shots I wanted. The photos were beautiful and completely exceeded my expectations (since I’m not the most photogenic person). Maciek is truly talented and I would highly recommend him. Maciek is great. We had a family photo session with 3-​month-​old baby in a park. He was so flexible, kind and good at finding best spots with natural light and shade that we enjoyed the time spent with him. (He was also good at catching little baby’s attention!)
He gave us more photos than the original deal and got the photos to us very quickly.
I will do another photo session with him and recommend him to my friends.

After Maciek quickly and easily set up our session, we had a great portrait shoot yesterday. He was professional, talented, kind and easy-​going. Maciek has an artist’s eye and can capture beyond what’s just on the surface. The resulting photos are an embarrassment of riches; there are several strong options for my project that are flattering and natural, and he generously sent me a big batch of his selected images within hours.
A photo shoot featuring me is definitely not in my comfort zone and Maciek was up for the challenge creatively, technically and temperamentally. He had great suggestions and I’m really so happy that I selected him for this project!

Not only is Maciek a warm, perceptive photographer, he was also extremely prompt and professional. He sent us over a hundred culled low-​res digital photos on the same day of shooting and came by my office the next day to drop off the thumb drive with the hi-​res photos. In just a half hour he came up with a wonderful variety of backdrops and angels. We would work with him again in a heartbeat for family portraiture.

We were very fortunate to find Maciek through Groupon. He arrived on time, was very polite and friendly, and he took amazing photos of my family and baby. He knew how to keep the baby happy and calm, he managed to make a poorly lit room look like we were in a well-​lit photo studio, the crispness and depth of the images were great, and his digital retouching for vibrant color and clarity were also phenomenal. The whole extended family has been sharing and printing the digital files, and we’ve proudly hung many on our dining room wall! A big thanks to Maciek for an incredible job.

Maciek is an amazingly gifted photographer! I was absolutely blown away by the photos he captured of my 3 children! I honestly thought there was no way he could have taken any good ones because my eldest two had been fighting with each other and the baby (8 weeks old at the time) had been awake longer than he ever had his entire life and was cranky! But Maciek is THAT GOOD! He met with us late in the afternoon and sent me his favorite pictures by that evening! Who does that?! And as I clicked through the photos of my children, I wept they were so beautiful! He even captured several of me – a tired, stressed, postpartum mama and somehow made me look serene.
I will, without a doubt, use Maciek again! He was truly a joy to work with!
