Magnolia Bakery West Village

Not the best thing for ya… Went twice in 2 days (last visit), chocolate was amazing. Not cheap, you pay for the ‘tourist’ experience. Friendly staff, fun at off peak times (seldom!).

The people who work here are so friendly and nice! I’ve been obsessed with the banana pudding for as long as I can remember (but then again, who isn’t?), so when I heard that they have a chocolate banana pudding now, I had to get my hands on it! It was rich, decadent, and tasty, but I think I’ll always be loyal to the original.

Starting out in the west village in 1996 this bakery has grown exponentially to the point where it can be found around the world.
They describe themselves as classic american baked goods with vintage décor and inviting atmosphere. We got the red velvet cupcake. I love the oreo cookie bottom. Try it out yourself.

I’ve been to all four locations around the city and the cupcakes, and flavors are consistent at all of them. Most of the cupcakes are basic chocolate or vanilla with buttercream. They are just different colored frosting but they all taste exactly the same. I’ve also tried the red velvet cupcake, but I’ve had way better at other places.
Overall, its a cute small place with no seating area. They are good quality fresh cupcakes. If I’m around the area I would get cupcakes from there but they are nothing too spectacular.

I remember going to Magnolia on Bleecker when they first became popular several years ago. The vanilla cupcake had this distinctive from scratch vanilla flavor that seems to be gone today on my recent visit to NYC. It’s still a good cupcake, but the two I had were a bit dry as if baked the day before, but only recently frosted. A shame really, but I’m glad I stopped in. I’ve recommended it to many over the years, and own 2 of the cookbooks. Next time I am in town I will get a slice of cake which might be fresher. Cakes are frosted beautifully.

To get: banana pudding ! They offer samples, so I would ask before you buy :) they have a chocolate one, which you should also try, but I preferred the regular. The medium size can easily feed two !
Magic bar was also quite delicious. Lots of flavour. We crushed it up and added it to the banana pudding !
To skip: Sadly, the chocolate cupcakes were overbaked and the buttercream wasn’t that delicious at all! Definitely not the place to go if you are craving a cupcake.

Say what you will about this being a tourist trap and whatnot, I get all that. What are we talking about here? The baked goods, not the patrons.
The classic chocolate cupcake is the best. Have all the fun colors you want, go for it. Me? Chocolate all day. GIMME!

I’ve eaten the cupcakes here on different occasions and I’ve concluded that they are the most overrated cupcakes period. At this price point they should knock your socks off, but I just don’t find them special at all. They are small, the frosting is overwhelmingly sweet and the cake is on the dry-​side. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’d choose them over bake-​them-​yourself Betty Crocker cupcakes.

I used to love this place and have been coming here for almost a decade but it’s definitely fallen off.
The prices have increased slightly which is fine but the cupcakes have gotten noticeably smaller and it tastes like they switched from butter to oil or use some sort of mix of butter and oil.
I used to be addicted to their banana pudding but their cake: banana ratio is way off now.
Hopefully, they’ll make some changes and go back to being as great as they used to be instead of just piggybacking their old reputation.

I’ve come here for the cupcakes and well, they are ok. But this time I had the banana pudding and whoa. Amazing.
You might be here because Carrie and Miranda made you think its a good idea to order a cupcake, but trust me… the banana pudding is where its at!

I can’t help but indulge myself with Magnolia’s cupcake. I know everyone raves about the banana pudding but the cupcakes are just so yummy. They’re addictive. I absolutely love the red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla cupcakes. Not only are they good but they’re so pretty. It’s well packaged as well making it perfect for a small gift.

Why is there so much hype about this place? Yes, it’s cute and in a great location, but when it comes to the food there’s nothing special about it. The selection isn’t large, and the cake I had (peanut butter and jelly) was good, but not like… the best thing ever. The slice was massive, two people couldn’t finish it. I loved the frosting, but it was super cakey and didn’t have enough jelly. RATIOS, people, RATIOS! Ya need a lot of PB and a lot of J, not a lot of PB and a little J.
I do have to say though, the service is really good and the people who work there are really friendly, but I guess it’s hard to not be when you’re around sweets all day.

Great location in the west village, it usually attracts a lot of toursits ready to wait for their famous cupcakes — all are good. Try the red velvet or the all chocolate one. Or just get a box to go with different ones and enjoy!

I will be visiting no more! I live around the block from Magnolia and often can’t help but indulge in their banana pudding, though each visit is always frustrating because the line always moves. so. slow. Seriously it takes 20 minutes to get something that’s already pre-​made. However, I always forgave and forget because the banana pudding was so good.
Well today, no more. There were about 6 customers in the store and 4 people working behind the counter. I stood there for about 10 minutes for someone to help me get my banana pudding. In those 10 minutes, I watched as 2 of the people working were flirting /​shooting the sh*t… and then they take the order from the person who is clearly behind me in line.
So long Magnolia. I’ll go to Molly’s or Billy’s instead.

Love the banana pudding. Worth the hype and the walk to one of the Magnolia locations. The cupcakes are decent, but the banana pudding is really why you come here. It’s such an amazing blend of vanilla pudding, lightened with whipped cream, bananas and super soft vanilla wafers. It sounds so simple — and it is. Which is why it would be so easy to overlook this dessert. But don’t — it’ll make your day with dreamy banana nostalgia.

My first encounter with Magnolia was the Rockefeller location on my first visit to New York. I was smitten by their banana pudding and was feening for some more, so while exploring this neighborhood, my company and I moseyed on in for some sweet treats, of course including the banana pudding.
This spot is less hectic than at Rockefeller, and the organization is a bit different too. Not complaining though, because in the end I still had my sweet, sweet banana pudding perfection.
I still day dream about it from time to time. Magnolia will definitely be a stop on my next trip to the city!

OK, let’s be real about Magnolia Bakery. The cupcakes aren’t good!
This Magnolia is by my office and sometimes I forget just how bad they are and buy some for work occasions. I’ve done this about 3 times, but no more! To break it down further, the frosting is pretty good, but the cake itself is bland and often kind of stale. Seriously, the last time the cake was so stale, I was wishing I’d just bought some Entenmann’s instead. Magnolia has few options in terms of flavors and nothing particularly creative. Finally, to add insult to injury, the cupcakes are very pricey.
The place itself is small with no seating, and the service is slow. There are many other sweets options in the area — just Unilocal it!

This location is TINY and you can tell it’s been around forever, bc it’s old. But that doesn’t matter to me as long as the desserts are good! I got a slice of chocolate cake and it was heaven.

This place is expensive. And tiny. 100% take-​out only: meaning they don’t have a single seat available for you to sit in.
I didn’t get their famous cupcakes because I don’t care for cupcake so I opted for the caramel pecan cheesecake. $ 7 a piece so it’s very pricey. But, it’s absolutely delicious. A little bit too sweet maybe but that’s probably because I don’t have a sweet tooth. Nonetheless, it’s still a great balance of buttery cheesecake, creamy caramel and nutty pecan~

Stopped in here to pick-​up some cupcakes. WOW was I shocked at how RUDE Jose the «manager» was to me when immediately upon my arrival he DEMANDED to see «paperwork» for my service dog. An establishment is NEVER allowed to ask for such paperwork. You are however allowed to ask what service the dog provides. He claimed he «knew the law» and was extending me a courtesy by letting me stay. Magnolia needs to put someone in charge who knows what the heck they are talking about and that doesn’t try to pick an argument with a blind paying patron for absolutely no reason. This behavior was shocking and appalling. What happened to this once awesome spot? Please see attached paragraph from the «Americans with Disabilities Act».

Love magnolias! I have to tell you from the moment you walk in it smells like heaven (or butter). The store is small but has the essentials like cupcakes and banana pudding. I personally think magnolias has the best cupcakes compared to sprinkles, butter cookie, crumbs and Melissa’s. (Melissa’s is quite good but tiny portions)
All in all it’s always a delicious treat to have magnolias. More options are available at their Avenue of the Americas just in case you wanted their seasonal items and their lemon bars… OMG their lemon bars! Just try them at least once, you won’t regret it.

Magnolia Was bought by a huge mega corporation a few years back and it definitely shows in the bad quality.
Cakes taste mass-​produced, NO LOVE is put into baking and I’m assuming they use the cheapest Aramark ingredients possible.
You can find better baked goods in the departure terminal at JFK airport.

Considering this place is supposed to be known for its cupcakes, I was a little disappointed when they only had 3 cupcake options before 10:00 at night on a Saturday.
Granted, the place is small, but there were a lot of vacant shelves. Maybe they sold out of other flavors and the lack of options speaks to their freshness, but at least one of the three cupcakes was not so fresh 8 hours after I bought it. The frosting was spot on but the cake itself was a little dry. For $ 11 for the three, and for all the hype, I was just hoping for more.

I went to Magnolia on the recommendation of a friend who told me she still has dreams about their treats. When I entered there was a huge line inside of a tiny space. It was ridiculously hot but I was determined to try their stuff. The wait was about 10 – 15 minutes long. I got a cupcake and a lemon bar. I then paid and left, there isn’t anywhere to sit anyway. I thought the cupcake was cute, small, and good but not great. The lemon bar was really yummy.
I know this place is the originator of the cupcake trend and a bit of a New York legend but I wasn’t really impressed. I probably won’t come here again. I just don’t get the hype.

Magnolia Bakery in West Village is located in a quaint neighborhood hosting cafes with outdoor seating and very unique boutique stores. While not the cheapest cupcakes you could buy, they are on the cheaper end of upscale cupcakes that I’ve had. We bought a box of 6 for about $ 16.50, so not a bad deal in the end.
We stopped just round the corner from this bakery and were amazed with the long lines. Even when we were walking back from the subway as late as 11 PM, people were stretched around the corner. The bakery was filled with locals buying a cupcake on their way home, so you know this place is the real deal!
We ordered red velvet cupcakes with vanilla whipped icing and a few chocolates with vanilla frosting. I have a fairly big sweet tooth, but the chocolate on chocolate seemed a little much for me. I really really enjoyed the red velvet though and would recommend always trying one of their specialties and one of their classics. I also recommend eating them fresh, as they aren’t as good a day or two later. Still makes for a good dessert!

We stopped into Magnolia on our way from one bar to the next, simply because it’s Magnolia Bakery. I honestly was a tad disappointed at the cupcakes. I only ordered a mini red velvet, but did not think it was anything special. I’ve had much better red velvet at other bakeries, and probably would not stop in again.
However, the location is very cute and charming. The employees were very nice and friendly, so if you’re looking to simply get the Magnolia «experience,» then I’d say give it a shot.

This location is pretty small so most of the line, if there is one, forms outside on a picturesque little corner in the village.
Walked through the line to see what else they had but I ultimately, only had eyes for one– The Banana Pudding. God’s gift to earth I tell you. My friend also got a mini cupcake, which we split. I wasn’t a fan of the buttercream icing because the butter taste was really strong, but the cake itself was yummy.
Just get the pudding and call it a day. Thank me later.

I am not a huge fan of magnolias cupcakes. Though they are delicious they are not my favorite in the NYC area. However Magnolias banana pudding is the type of dessert I picture Jesus eating in heaven. Real fresh bananas layered with vanilla wafers. Anything you could want and more in a banana pudding

Stopped in for a snack with my boys an husband, I was being a good girl so I didn’t order but from the looks on my family’s faces they Loved every bite of there cupcakes an fudge brownies which mmmm looked so delicious.

An the staff was very nice an helpful with suggesting what was the best great good an okay desserts.
Thing that annoyed me was when I took my stuff to pay the cashier girl who handles money Exc had to reopen my boxes an look at what I had ordered. There has to be a better way. I’ll suggest maybe clear recycled plastic cupcake containers with there Logo as a sticker to represent them. I mean it’s better then a cashier with unsanitary hands reopening my package.

Magnolia. What can I say? I have the good fortune to stay several times during the year in an apartment about 2 blocks away from Magnolia. Various members of my family have been long time customers. There were days long ago I spent sitting in Abington Square park, running out to Magnolia for a cookie to quiet a toddler. Now, I mostly just get a mini cupcake for a personal fix.
The cupcake craze has come and sort of passed and Magnolia still stands. I know there are MANY opinions on the perfect cupcake and with that in mind, here are the reasons I still love Magnolia:
Their cupcakes are the perfect size
They offer minis
I love their frosting
They have LOTS of other great desserts (cakes, banana pudding etc…)
I love the pastel colors they use
Their shop is sweet and homey
They are open almost all of the time
Most of the people working there are friendly
I guess I am bummed by the loss of the cupcakes being set out for selection by the customer, although they were probably placed behind glass for a good reason. Magnolia has been around so long now that they are a welcome friend in an area of the city of high rents and frequent business turn over. They also sell a product, that while relatively expensive, is affordable to the masses. Cupcakes make people happy.

3 Stars because of service.
I’ve recently discovered this location after Rockefeller Center ran out of everything including pudding. Definitely come here to avoid crowds of tourists and its in a nice quiet residential area. They sell mini cupcakes individually which is great since I find the cake to be very sweet and sometimes dry. It’s hit or miss. I’ve been lucky to find decent cupcakes but it’s not always the case. The minis are better though. Rock. Center doesn’t sell minis individually. They also carry bags of 6 holiday cookies which I can never seem to find at Rockefeller.
Customer Service
Businesses seriously need to stop hiring ghetto people who have bad attitudes and get annoyed when you ask for something. The first 2 times I’ve come in here this week I’m greeted by lazy female employees who are conversing amongst themselves. When I say excuse me one responds «what you want» in an aggressive tone as if I’m bothering her. As she gets my cupcakes and I’m not done ordering, she is still talking up a storm with one of her associates without listening to what else I want. All got was a «that’s it» while she closes my box followed by some eye rolls. I didn’t feel comfortable asking for anything else since I seemed to be bothering her by asking her to get me cupcakes (what she gets paid to do and what I am paying for). I waited til I got to the cashier to put the cupcakes back and ordered a crinkle cookie instead which btw was heaven.
Better than Rockefell Center in terms of quantity but I think I’ve gotten better customer service at McDonald’s than this place.

I have been to magnolia several times, first saw it in movies, decided to give ‘Em a try.
The banana pudding is to die for, very very very delicious, cakes are very expensive so is the tiny cupcakes but they are very good.
I bought a large banana pudding for $ 60 and brought it to our holiday party, and boy everyone was so impressed.

I’m depressed that I don’t live in NY so I can come back here more often and on the other hand I’m grateful to be saved from the temptation.
I ordered A LOT, I wanted to try it all! A Banana Pudding, a Cupcake, 1 slice of regular Cheesecake and 1 slice of Key Lime Cheesecake.
Both the Cheesecake slices I flew home to my husband, they were a little disheveled when they arrived but he said it is the best Cheesecake he’s ever eaten. I mean, one would hope so considering it’s from the home of Cheesecake but I digress.
The Cupcake was fine but I don’t have much to say about it so I guess it wasn’t that good, you can pretty much get a decent cupcake anywhere these days.
The Banana Pudding was amazing!!! I don’t even like banana stuff that much, but wow! It was phenomenal, the taste and texture so good, lumps of what I assume was cupcake, thin pieces of banana and very thick and wonderful, cake batter type Banana flavored puffing. I can smell it now as I write, it leaves a lasting memory…

I’ve had Magnolia bakery on two occasions. The first on my son’s 1 month party and second time around was a night out after dinner at Rubirosa’s.
The first time, we bought a chocolate cake. My sister kept hyping it up how good their cakes are because Magnolia is so well known. Well, I beg to differ. The chocolate cake that day tasted very bland, cheap, and dry. The icing tasted very Betty Crocker and the sponge was very dry on many levels that evening. It was a cake I did not enjoy and did not wanted to go back for seconds.
At this point, my expectations for Magnolia bakery has dropped significantly. Just a few short weeks after my son’s 1 month, my wife and I had a night with family for dinner in the area. Afterwards, my cousin suggested Magnolia bakery since it was only a few blocks away and it was the original location plus they opened late on a Sunday too. So we decided to give them a shot and the experience was way different from the first one.
Off the bat, we noticed the crowded busy bakery from the windows. My expectations are gradually building up again. My wife got their red velvet cupcake and I got heir peanut butter cup mini pie. I generally hate red velvet but decided to give it a bite while in the car and I really must say, they make an excellent red velvet cupcake. The sponge was moist, had the right amount of fluffiness and the cream icing on top was rich. When I got home, I opened up the second box for my peanut butter cup pie. I dig in with a metal spoon because the plastic ones just couldn’t cut it. After the first spoonful of crust, peanut butter filling and peanut buttercups, it became hard to resist. I the peanut butter filling was very creamy and was not too sweet since they’ve already got bits and pieces of crushed peanut buttercups in it. It was really good and they also have a snickers version of it as well.
Verdict — From my experience, I would stick with their smaller stuff and avoid their full size cakes. Their small bites were way more delightful than the cake I’ve tried. I also highly recommend going on a Sunday. I was told it is less busy on Sunday’s compared to every other day unless it’s a holiday. I also had a gay guy trying to buy me a cupcake while I was waiting outside. Quite creepy, dude was persistent and didn’t quit until my wife came out.

A veritable pastry institution in Manhattan. While I only have cupcakes once every 8 years or so, when I eat Cupcakes, I eat Magnolia cupcakes.
On an unseasonably warm day in November, my financé and her family accompanied me for a post-​marathon snack. The shop was incredibly hot at 5PM, where the ovens must be working at full blast. Unfortunately they ran out of the red velvet with creamcheese frosting, so they had plain vanilla frosting, along with two vanillas and a chocolate.
What I love about Magnolia is the balance they bring between the cake and frosting. The frosting is pretty much perfect, without it feeling sickeningly sweet (we’re talking about cupcakes specifically, not good in general) and making my teeth ache. The cake is moist, chewy, with enough structure to hold up a inch or two of frosting on top. This combination makes them truly amazing.
Staff was friendly enough when we went there, and I’ve never tried any of their other desserts, frankly because I don’t eat desserts… and when I do, it’s personal mini-​cakes… err, I mean cupcakes.

Pretty good cupcakes. I’m not really a cupcake person so most cupcakes taste pretty similar to me. Would say Magnolia’s is on par with Georgetown Cupcake and better than Molly’s.
However, the banana bread pudding is AMAZING. The hype is real. Get this if you come to Magnolia Bakery. You won’t regret it.

I’ve been a bad girl this trip, indulging in more sweets than I have the entire year. I also completely abandoned veganism.
My boyfriend and I (and our incredibly irresistible sweet tooth) ventured out for dessert. (We planned a trip for dessert and then remembered ‘oh yeah, we should probably have dinner first.’)
Upon entering Magnolia Bakery, your nostrils are overwhelmed with sweet, baked goodness. I highly recommend taking a moment to close your eyes and inhale the fumes. Your eyes soon become overwhelmed with all the choices, too! There’s cupcakes and cookies, ice cream sandwiches, mini pies and all types of cheesecakes.
There was a guy in one corner stirring batter in a mixing bowl. Later on he was consulting a three tiered styrofoam cake, perhaps deciding upon his next creation.
My boyfriend, with the worst sweet tooth on the planet, told me about the reviews for this place and how the banana pudding was a must have. We decided on a medium and steering the course toward diabetes, also ordered a mini red velvet cheesecake with a chocolate graham cracker crust and topped with chocolate shavings.
(Apparently Sex and the City filmed in front of this joint so there’s a picture hanging on the wall depicting the particular episode from season 3.)
Please note, there is no place to eat your sugary sweets, but there is a park adjacent to the Magnolia Bakery from where you can inhale your savory selctions.
The banana pudding was up first. We inhaled it quickly but I made sure in the midst of this pig out sesh to let it sit on my tongue and savor the flavor so I could review it later. It’s phenomenal and an absolute must-​have! It’s soft and perfectly sweet and light.
The velvet cheesecake was next. It was good. Nothing extraordinary. It had an interesting aftertaste. Almost like coffee but kind of that ‘I’ve been sitting uncovered in a refrigerator’ taste. The center was… well, red velvety. The chocolate graham cracker crust was delicious.
Overall, I was pleased with our selections. The price wasn’t too bad either — $ 12 total for both sweet treats. Quite the bargain, since we had tried all kinds of overpriced desserts around the city.

De todos es sabido que este es sitio obligado para los fanáticos de Sexo en Nueva York o, como en mi caso, para los amantes de la red velvet. En mi viaje a Nueva York me pasé por aquí en busca de una y salí bastante contenta con una minitarta de queso de red velvet con base de galleta oreo y coronada con un volcán de nata que emanaba desde su interior, una delicia que acompañé con un chocolate caliente. Mi chico por el contrario prefirió el clásico muffin de pepita de chocolate con un capuchino. Todo espectacular

Yes! I am a happy traveller, and I get thrilled by small, unique places that are painted in candy colors! Especially when we are talking a famous bakery in West Village! The cutest little bakery in this wonderful neighborhood which is already my favorite place to stoll without any particular vision in mind. I was recommended the banana pudding. I went all in, and had one for breakfast!
I am not a banana-​liking person, and must admit I was quiet sceptic to this brownish looking cream stue. The sweet lady behind the counter understood my doubts and handed over a tasting so that I could discover this wonder without the risk, and free of charge. It was intense and sweet, but it had a light banana flavor and a delightful texture. Loved that it had whipped cream as well. I decided to eat one of these and had a latte to go. The coffee was very pleasant too!
A few meters down the street there is a lovely little square with benches and trees. The rain had started drizzling, but with a bana pudding in hand there was nothing to worry about! In between the trees, observing a handsome guy with a dog, this moment made one of my most romantic experiences during my stay in NYC. I highly recommend this bakery if you are visiting NYC and want to hang out in this great hood! Did I mention that the service is impressive, sweet and joyful? Just like the interior of the bakery? Well, sweet for the sweet! Thats all I can say!

Als Sex and The City Fan und nicht zuletzt auch wegen der guten Bewertungen war ein Abstecher in die Magnolia Bakery ein Muss! Der Laden ist klein und sehr niedlich, das Personal freundlich und die Preise ok. Die Auswahl ist klasse– man hat die Qual der Wahl, was wegen der guten Preise aber nicht so dramatisch ist ;-) Platz zum Sitzen und Verweilen gibt es leider nicht, aber auch das ist unproblematisch, da sich gleich auf der anderen Straßenseite ein paar Tische und Bänke in einer Art Minipark befinden. Geschmacklich waren die Cupcakes richtig gut– vor allem der Lemon Cupcake war unheimlich lecker.

Pour les cupcakes je né sais pas (j’aime pas ça) en revanche le cheesecake (key lime) au citron vert donc est un délice de meme que le banane pudding, en boisson je vous conseille la limonade (homemade) qui bien que trop sucree est vraiment bonne

Este es el local original por el que comenzó esta cadena que tiene dos locales más en NYC. Entrás y es como estar en la casa de la abuela que te hornea un bizcochuelo, todo es a la vista y muy acogedor. Podría quedarme horas viendo como decoran tortas. También podés encontrar una especie de gift shop, ya que la marca se volvió tan conocida que tiene mucho merchandising.
En cuanto a la calidad de los productos doy fé de que son frescos, ya que todo lo que hacen «vuela» en el día. Cada producto está muy bien presentado. Como recomendación les digo el «red velvet cheesecake», me lo van a agradecer, se los juro!

Muita fila. Espaço pequeno e nao tem lugar pra sentar. Os cupcakes não tem nada de demais., prefiro mil vezes os cupcakes do Billys!!!

Mon chérinou sachant que le gouter c’est hyper important et fan de carrot cake et autres gâteaux américains, m’a fait la surprise de m’amener ici. «Aaaah regarde c’est Magnola Bakery «crie de fille: aaaah trop bien». Petite queue d’une dizaine de minute pour attendre le graal mais ça vaut le coup. On peut voir les employés faire les gâteaux, les tartiner de glaçages aaaah j’adore cette ambiance. Il y a tellement de sorte de cupcakes, cheesecake que ça donne le tournis. La part de carrot cake prise était huge mais tellement bonne! je crois que c’est le meilleur carrot cake que j’ai jamais mangé. Vivement qu’on retourne à NY

Si vous allez à NYC et que vous aimez les pâtisseries, je vous conseil cette adresse mmmmmm je n’étais pas fan de cupcakes mais là maintenant je suis fan.
Bön les prix sont pas donnés mais pour le goût je m’en fou les bonnes choses n’ont pas de prix :-D
Ce qui est bien c’est qu’ils né sont pas bourratif comme la plupart des autres cupcakes et fondent dans la bouche avec les différents arômes.
Je n’ai jamais goûter des comme ça à Bruxelles :-(

Wir haben mittlerweile viele CupCakes in New York ausprobiert und müssen sagen, dass die Cakes von Magnolia auf jeden Fall zu den Besten gehören. Die Auswahl ist groß und das Geschäft ist mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Für Damen ein absolutes MUSS ein New York ;-)

Ich war begeistert und 10 kilo schwerer!

Mon avis rejoint pour partie celui de Marie O. si ce n’est qu’on aurait peut-​être dû prendre des cheesecakes nous aussi pour arriver à la même note finale…
Posons les choses simplement: on était dans le quartier (très sympa d’ailleurs) quand on est passé devant cette véritable institution du cupcake (on en fait des tapages dans la presse, ils en mangent dans des séries TV…)
Petite précision qui a (peu-​être) son importance: en général, nous né raffolons pas vraiment de ces petits gâteaux, les jugeant souvent bien trop gras et sucrés
Entrons, un francais (oui c’est pas vraiment ce qui manqué ici…) nous dit qu’ils sont tous bons mouais… on né demande qu’à le croire après tout !
Etant testeurs dans l’âme, nous avons une fois encore rempli notre mission, et nous avons pris :
— un classique à la vanille — 3 $: vraiment trop sucré et gâteau qui n’a pas beaucoup de goût
— un Trufle Chocolate — 3,50 $, ah là c’est déjà mieux mais pas de quoi en faire un cake non plus
Bref, on est venus, on a vu (et goûté), mais on né nous y reprendra plus…

Süss klein und viele extras wie beutel tshirts und so weiter. Es ist super lecker aber auch teuer ein cupcake 3 $ aber für Mitbringsel lohnt es sich. Da hält es sich gut mit den preisen. Bis zum nächsten mal

We visited the bakery on the Way to Miss «Sex in the Cities» apartment.
I dont like to much of that extremly Sweet stuff, but the Girls were satisfied.
Its not more a normal cupcake factory, it is a brand.

Leider eine grosse Enttäuschung für mich! Cupcakes sollen nicht so schmecken. Unglaublich fettig. Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich eine der Einzigen bin, die nicht verrückt nach dieser Cupcakes ist. Ich denke schon, dass dieser Laden gar nicht so berühmt worden wäre, wenn er in der Sex and the City Serien nicht erwähnt wäre. Ausser die Cupcakes ist diese Banane Magnolia Pudding gut aber für mein Geschmack sind englische Triflesorten doch besser.

Triple-​Lemon-​Vanilla Cupcake? Bei solchen Produktbezeichnungen bekomme ich keine leuchtenden, sondern höchstens große Augen. Ihr ahnt es bereits, ich stehe Cupcakes kritisch gegenüber. Aber Frankenbacher, Cupcakes sehen doch soooo niedlich aus! Niedlich, ihr sagt es! Cupcakes sind von der Optik auf Kinder, oder große Kinder ausgerichtet. Aber nicht nur vom Aussehen, nein auch vom Geschmack! Ein Cupcake ist doch nur ein kleiner, simpler Rührkuchen mit extra viel Zucker, verziert mit einer Portion fetter Crème mit extra viel Zucker und Zuckerdeko. Aber ihr habt’ mich überredet.

Magnolia Bakery Da ich in NYC bin und es hier angeblich die weltbeste Cupcake-​Bäkerei, die Magnolia Bakery geben soll, werde ich für euch einen solchen Tassenkuchen testen. Also rein in die Backstube! Oh! Die Topping-​Dressier-​Tüten sind ja mit gewagten Farb-​Pasten gefüllt!

Magnolia Bakery Wie ihr hier am Ergebnis meiner Bestellung sehen könnt’ ist in der Magnolia Bakery, alles nur To-​Go zu bekommen. Heissgetränk hellbraun, nahezu ohne jeden Geschmack.
Rührkuchen, gelb, sehr süß, mit fetter Crème, gelb mit künstlichem Vanillingeschmack. Über die Ereignisse nach meinem ersten Biss in das verkaufstechnisch äußerst effektive Törtchen, breite ich den Mantel des Schweigens. Ähhm, liebe Magnolia Bakery!
Vielleicht ein Tipp für euch, nehmt doch Bubble Tea mit in euer Angebot auf, den könnt’ ihr sicher aus den bei euch vorrätigen Grundstoffen herstellen!

Jaaaahaaa Sexinthecityhype, alle waren da, alle gehen dahin, alle lieben Cupcakes.
Ich nicht. Ich mag keine Sahne. Und keinen geflavourten fluffy-​grünen Muffin.
Ich nehm den Walnut-​Caramel-​Cheesecake. Ja wie aufmerksam ihn nochmal auszutauschen, nachdem er an der Decke des Pappkartons klebte. Wirklich nett.

Lugar de obligada visita para todos los fan de Sexo en Nueva York. Los aficionados a la reposteria tampoco deben perderselo. No es barato pero es de calidad. La decoracion de la tienda, de estilo retro, es muy agradable. Tienen porciones de tartas, tartas enteras, cupcakes y otros Es casi obligatorio pedir un ‘red velvet’.Resulta complicado elegir entre tantos sabores como hay. Mi consejo es pedir cupcakes para poder probar varios porque las porciones de pastel son muy contundentes.

Als SATC & Der Teufel trägt Prada Fan ist mir die Magnolia Bakery natürlich ein Begriff. Nachdem wir Carries Treppe in der Perry Street angeschaut hatten, sind wir ums Eck zur Magnolia Bakery gegangen. Man weiss genau, dass man nur einen Cupcake essen kann und braucht entsprechend lange, um sich den richtigen auszusuchen.
Ich entschied mich für einen Schokocupcake mit Vanillatopping es schmeckte wie fluffiger Muffin mit rohem Kuchenteig mit gaaaaanz viel Zucker oben drauf. Total lecker! Und für 3 $ quasi ein Schnäppchen! Tip: Geht zur Magnolia Bakery in der Bleecker Street, nicht auf der 6^th. Ist uriger und authentischer! Außerdem gibts drum herum viele kleine sehenswerte Läden. PS: Die Cookies sind auch super!

Voici un endroit de New York pour lequel j’étais très partagée avant d’y mettre les pieds !
D’un côté je crevais littéralement d’envie d’y aller (Sex and The City, atmosphère maison de poupée, fantasme photographique…) et d’un autre j’étais vraiment trèèès septique sur le réel intérêt du lieu (décor carton pâte, effet de mode, queue à l’entrée…).
Mon envie a finalement été plus forte que mon scepticisme et j’y ai mangé les meilleurs cheesecakes de ma vie ! Et pourtant je deviens vraiment difficile en la matière, vraiment je n’aime plus vraiment ça… Ça m’écœure dès la 1ère bouchée…
J’ai testé 2 parfums: Key Lime et Red Velvet et je n’ai qu’une envie depuis lors: en remanger !
Définitivement un lieu dont la réputation n’est pas usurpée !

Wenn man Pech hat, steht man schon mal 20 Min. in einer Schlange, um in den Laden zu kommen. Das Warten lohnt sich aber für die Cupcakes. Die sind echt lecker. Die Torten finde ich dagegen nicht so toll, einzelne Stücke werden auch unschön verpackt und zermatschen sehr leicht.
Tipp: bei Bloomingdale’s in der 59^th Straße gibt’s eine Zweigstelle.

Der beste Double Choc Fudge Brownie (whatever), den ich JEMALS gegessen habe!
Hinterher hatte ich zwar einen Zuckerschock, aber das wars mir wert.
Auch die Cupcakes waren ihr Geld wert. Sehr gehaltvoll, haben aber trotzdem «leicht» und frisch geschmeckt.
Der Laden selbst ist zuckersüß, die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Leider wars auch total überfüllt.
Ein MUSS in NYC.

Es ist gut, dass diese Cupkakes so gehaltvoll sind und man deswegen höchstens einen davon essen kann, denn ansonsten würde ich mich nur noch davon ernähren:)
Die leckersten Kuchen, die ich bis jetzt (!) gegessen habe.

Ich steh’ weder auf «Sex and the City» noch auf fette und/​oder extrem zuckerhaltige Törtchen. Aber die Atmosphäre und das Treiben in diesem Laden ist unvergleichlich. Selbst WENN man nicht auf Törtchen und Kuchen und Muffins steht, kommt man nur schwer ohne einen Einkauf heraus. Mit schönen alten Maschinen werden die Cakes von Hand und für den Kunden sichtbar gefertigt. Und schmecken tun sie zugegebermaßen verboten gut. Einer der wenigen Gründe, dass es gut ist, dass New York City so weit weg ist.

Viel Lärm um Nichts aber wenn ihr da seid, solltet ihr euch das Spektakel ansehen. Es ist einfach spitzenklasse — die CupCakes sind zu süss aber den Besuch wert

Gott sei dank weeeeit weg von hier ;) meine Waage würde sonst wohl kapitulieren. wer auf süße Sachen steht ist hier genau richtig. außerdem fühlt man den ‘Sex and the City’ Flair schon beim betreten des Ladens. echt lecker!!!

Wer gerade auf Diät ist, solltes besser nicht in die Magnolia Bakery gehen. Alle Torten, Cupcakes und Desserts werden nach alten Familienrezepten hergestellt. In dem Laden werden die begehrten Cupcakes aus Rührteig noch vor den Augen der Kunden fertig dekoriert. Und wegen der großen Nachfrage limitiert: Pro Person werden nicht mehr als 12 Cupcakes verkauft. Und eines kann ich sagen, ich hätte am liebsten den ganzen Laden aufgekauft. Solche leckeren Desserts hab ich noch nie gegessen und eines ist sicher, mit Desserts und Süßigkeiten kenn ich mich aus!
Besonders bekannt geworden ist die kleine Magnolia Bakery durch die TV-​Serie Sex and the City. Wer in NY ist, sollte unbedingt in die Bleecker Street und sich durchprobieren, einfach zu lecker.
