The place is nice, but the billers are the lowest of the lowlifes. Do not EVER take out your credit card for these thieves. I was told I did not meet my deductible, and had to shell out $ 750 to get my procedure, which I didn’t even really need, at that point, honestly.
In spite of the fact that my insurance company sent them a strongly worded email telling them to refund my money, it looks like I will have to take them to court to get a refund.
On top of this they are the nanny state run amok. They won’t let you leave unless someone picks you up, whether from a simple endoscopy or colonoscopy.
My advice: Go somewhere else where they are honest.

I had a pleasant experience recently. I went in for a procedure and was a bit nervous. The front desk staff and registration were fine, although they should just smile more but that’s my only complaint. The nurse that brought me in was okay too. Another one who should smile a bit more. But her directions were concise and informative. Once I was changed and waiting to go into the procedure room, everyone else was full of character, smiles, and willing to put you at ease. The anesthesiologist was awesome! The doctor and the anesthesiologist worked safely together as a solid team during the procedure. The recovery nurse was so sweet and took great care of me even though I was pretty much awake now. She was so attentive. She offered me more juice and snacks after the initial she brought over, which I politely declined. Then when my husband arrived, she was kind enough to ask if he wanted any as well. She was so personable and everyone in the recovery area also worked as a solid team too. A safe environment overall!

Pros: The facility is very clean and efficient. My doctor, the anesthesiologist, and nurses in the post-​procedure room were wonderful. The entire visit took less than 4 hours.
Cons: The medical assistant (or nurse) who took my vitals prior to the procedure wasn’t friendly and disappeared as soon as I entered the changing room.
Their billing practices are HORRIBLE. I explained to the front desk staff that I was covered at 100% but was still charged a $ 150 co-​pay (which in my case is only required at hospitals, not facilities). I’ve contacted their billing dept. re: a refund numerous times to no avail.
Word of advice: If you are covered 100%, stay adamant about not paying the co-​pay and insist they contact your insurance company on the spot, or bill you to avoid unnecessary stress.

Dr. Neal Joseph was incredibly thorough and kind and struck the perfect balance between taking my concerns seriously and assuring me that all would be okay. I would highly recommend him as a superior doctor with a terrific bedside manner.

I arrived an hour early for my colonoscopy yesterday and expected to wait until my appointment time, but was processed immediately by several very kind and professional people who played different roles. I (happily) did not have to fill out a stack of forms recreating my entire medical history. Instead, I simply answered questions posed to me. Before I knew it I was drifting off to dreamland with a comfy pillow and blanket and an IV that I hardly felt and that left no mark on my hand. When I awoke, my doctor discussed my results with me and I was given a typed printout with photos. After I finished dressing, I was given animal crackers and cranberry juice to enjoy while waiting for my husband to take me home. Overall a positive experience in a cheerful, clean and modern facility.

I had a very good experience. This center is very efficient and professional. The staff and medical professional are very good at their job and handle patients perfectly. Dr Fouchios is the best GI doctor in the city!!!

I had an endoscopy procedure at Manhattan Endoscopy and I was horrified by my experience. While prepping for anesthesia, my doctor (Dr. Veronika Dubrovskaya) decided to take a personal call. I know it was a personal call because I know first-​hand that she never calls her patients about results. One of the female anesthesia nurses was seriously lacking in bed-​side manner as she complained about the doctor taking a call and she wanted to finish the last patient of the day and go home soon. It was like I was not even there…
Once the procedure is done, don’t expect them to share the results with you — you’ll have to hound them for it. Two weeks after the procedure, I received no word from the doctor or even a representative from the office. Since I was in constant pain every day and my doctor took biopsies, I was getting nervous and decided to check in. They do not answer their emails (why share it then?) and I could never get a hold of the doctor. Finally, 3 weeks later, the doctor calls me explaining my results and that I needed a prescription — nice to know now after weeks of suffering… She told me I needed to come in next week to pick up the results and prescription (great, more waiting in pain). I explained to the receptionist that I can only swing by to pick up the results and the prescription, not for a full-​fledged appointment. She agreed on the phone, but acted like it was news to her when I came in. Of course, my doctor called me in her office anyway. She asked me if I understood my diagnosis and I said yes — she ignored me and gave a whole speech about it. She was very ill-​prepared — she didn’t have my results printed out (I think it was the first time she even looked at it), she literally printed a food plan (which she had to google right in front of me!), and this «prescription» she said I needed was actually an off-​the-​shelf drug you can pick up at any pharmacy! No prescription required. She literally called me in for no reason but to get $$$.
If you haven’t learned from the other reviews, their billing dept is a HUGE red flag. I left multiple messages for Manhattan Endoscopy’s billing dept «Frontier Health Billing» with no luck. My insurance provider also tried reaching out to them without success. Someone finally picked up 3 weeks later. To save yourself some trouble, on the day of your procedure only pay the copay cost of the visit and ask them to bill you the procedure costs after going through your insurance provider. That way, when you see the bill, you see the true cost of what you owe.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
UPDATE — Was misdiagnosed! Two separate doctors said they were surprised by the initial diagnosis. Hope this review will help someone.

Great facility, but shady billing practices. They demand your deductible upfront, which I stupidly agreed to. Later the insurance company said that they had no business asking for it. And then I got a bill asking for another few hundred dollars, which claimed part of it was for the deductible. They had lost the original payment. So we’re in a fight. I’d really suggest people avoid this place. I love my GI, but going to look for one attached to a different facility.

I love my gastroenterologist, Dr. Pacheco. He is the best. The medical staff here is incredible, just really amazing nurses, technicians, so helpful and kind. The procedure was almost fun. The facility is first rate. However… the people at the front desk are not friendly and the billing people that you have to meet with are really unfriendly. Furthermore, I was made to pay a large annual deductible that I should not have been charged. And then dealing with the billing company, Frontier Healthcare Billing, was really an awful experience. I was repeatedly given the runaround on the refund I was owed. In fact, I am still waiting.

All was well, until I started bleeding internally a few days after the procedure. Steer clear of this place.
The one star is for the anesthesiologist, who was very kind and lovely.

Terrible billing, bills paid but they send you to collection, collection paid and they send same bills again… and I am not mentioning price

I had a very positive experience here, with the exception of one of the receptionist. Though the other one immediately jumped in and offered to help me.
Clean bathrooms, lovely in-​take staff, nice waiting room (including an outdoor patio where you’re welcome to wait!), nice nurses, small triage rooms, but nice procedure and recovery rooms, and staff who are very kind and patient with you while you’re looped out on meds ;-)
I had the single best anesthesiologist possible! I was a Nervous Nelly, but their staff were really great in making sure I never felt judged, and just felt right at home.

Dr. Julie Foont and her team at Manhattan Endoscopy are exceptional in all respects. My appointment was right on time and I was put at ease immediately. They answered all my questions and explained the procedure in detail. Dr. Foont has an amazing bedside manner and I would highly recommend her for any procedure. Her staff loves her too and it was obvious in both their conversation with me and in their working with her. They are 100% patient oriented. I know I’m in good hands and am fortunate to have such quality care.

It’s a really nice place to have endoscopy done. All the nurses are very nice and caring. The clinic is beautiful and clean with state of the art equipment.
I’m very happy with Dr. Mylan Satchi. He’s young but very knowlegeable. I give him 5 stars.
I did not have any post-​op pain and the best part was my nap.

This place is amazing! Very clean. Sign posted in the waiting area that the patients are fasting so please be considerate and refrain from eating while waiting. Wait! The waiting area includes a deck area with comfortable chairs in which to wait in the warm sun when the weather is warm and nice.
Staff was professional, efficient, warm and friendly. Considerate of your privacy but there just when you need help or have a question.
If you are sent here for your upper GI endoscopy and/​or colonoscopy, YOU are in luck. Neither procedure is fun, but the Center makes the experience as positive as it gets.

It seems strange to say, «well, what a pleasant endoscopy, can’t WAIT for someone to shove a camera into my digestive tract again,» and yet here we are.
I mean, everyone’s super friendly and helpful, and it’s a very clean, spacious place that seems to have been well laid out and well-​planned — like, you’re not walking through a waiting room in a surgical gown or anything, which I’ve had to do before, and that is WEIRD. My gastroenterologist has something to do with this joint, like she’s a partner or something? And I would trust this woman with, um, all of my guts, from my esophagus through my intestines, so…
I feel really weird talking about how much I like this place BECAUSE IT IS AN ENDOSCOPY CLINIC, but for real, their endoscopy game is tight.
*P.S. the nurses are so nice that they don’t make fun of you when you inexplicably wake up from sedation crying about dragons (true story). And then they give you juice and cookies!!! I love them so much.

Avoid this place like the plague! I had a routine, uncomplicated colonoscopy done there recently and was billed nearly $ 9,000 for use of the facility!
My colonoscopy took maybe 90 mins and involved just the doctor, anesthesiologist, and maybe one or two assistants. This charge didn’t even include the doctor and anesthesiologist who billed me and my insurance separately as well.
It also took the billing dept nearly 6 months after the procedure to submit the bill to me and my insurance carrier. Trying to get their billing dept to do anything is a nightmare! Honestly, I am beginning to think something seriously shady is going on there.
