Manhattan Penthouse on Fifth Avenue

Manhattan Penthouse was the ultimate wedding venue location. Not only does it come with EVERYTHING (bartender, alcohol, catering, servers, linens and a coordinator) but it’s beautiful and the location is amazing. Monica was so helpful and professional– we had a day of coordinator and when she showed up to the venue everything was set up already! the venue is large but feels intimate, the views are unreal and the food was delicious. Some of the details I was most impressed with:
1. Knowledge of religious needs (challah, kosher meals and wine, etc)
2. Guidance on scheduling
3. Response time
4. Vendor recommendations
5. When we walked back down the aisle, Monica was waiting in the back with our specialty cocktails and there was champagne and appetizers for us in the bridal suite.
If you want to eliminate all of the stress from wedding planning, I HIGHLY recommend booking this venue.

I’ve been to countless events at this space. The views are stunning, the space is great and they have managed to keep the old New York feel. Professional service all around.

Great views and a beautiful room! What a surprise, above the Lucille Roberts on 14^th street lies this hidden gem. The elevator opens to a room with a bar walk further in and there’s a second huge room as well. Bathrooms are nice, windows all around allow for great sunset moments. Would definitely consider booking an event here, although the entrance downstairs is a little shabby. maybe that’s what makes it even more exciting? ;)

Located on the 17^th floor with amazing views. The venue is kind of small. My friend had an afternoon wedding from 11am to 4? The flow of alcohol in the open bar seemed great. The food were decent, the service was timely but unfriendly. It’s a wedding and none of the staff I encountered had a smile and they were actually unpleasant. They seemed like they really didn’t want to be there or cater to the wedding. There were three items on the menu. Chicken. Salmon and a veggie risotto. I tried my friends chicken and it was dry. My salmon was good.

We celebrated our wedding reception at the Manhattan Penthouse on Saturday, June 27, 2015 and would just like to thank everyone involved, especially Monika, for providing us with an absolutely perfect night!
From the moment we finally arrived through the cocktail hour, dinner and the last second of the last dance everything about the evening went smoothly and was had led with the greatest of care.
We have hear nothing except how much everyone loved the venue and its spectacular views and how much fun each of our 145 guests had during the whole event!

Our wedding last month at the Manhattan Penthouse was exactly what we wanted. The views are spectacular. The space very comfortably accommodated our 160 guests for cocktails, food, dancing, and a photo booth, with plenty of seating in both the main room and the outer bar area. We were too excited to eat much, but what we did eat was delicious and our guests loved the food. The team was fantastic — professional, friendly, and did a great job turning the room over between ceremony and reception.
Major advantages of a wedding at the Manhattan Penthouse include in-​house catering; included tables, chairs, and linens (you’d be surprised what other venues will charge you to use their furniture); and the very talented Jeno Steiner, our contact and coordinator. Jeno helped us navigate the planning process, including selecting a menu, putting together the floor plan, arranging the processional, choosing a band, and figuring out the flow of the evening. On the night of, he was always nearby, corralling us for our first dance or toasts or cake cutting, handing me a glass of champagne, reminding me to eat, etc. He even bustled my dress for me.
Our guests ate, drank, and danced all night, and everyone loved the venue. Highly recommend the Manhattan Penthouse for your wedding.

This place is where I recently attended a wedding. The place and the food were super. It is conveniently located with spectacular views. The Wedding was so beautiful with heart felt speeches from the Bride, Groom, Bride’s Dad and the Groom’s Dad.

Our daughter’s wedding at Manhattan Penthouse was a perfect «New York» wedding: equal parts elegance and fun. Even guests who live in the city were awed by the view, which makes for a vibrant affair even before the music begins. The conversion of the room from ceremony to reception was so seamless it seemed like magic. Add to this fine service, tasty food, a nonstop bar and a great dance floor and you have the makings of a great wedding.
But what made it a perfect was Jeno Steiner, our contact throughout the planning and on the day of the wedding. The moment we met him we knew he had just the right amount of professionalism and humor to make us comfortable. In the months before, he answered every question, no matter how small, with patience and unbelievable speed. On the day of the wedding, as the wedding party went about getting dressed and photographed, we did not even have to think about what was going on back at the venue; Jeno was in complete control. During the ceremony and reception, his was a calm. kind and comforting presence. He made everything happen just as it should.
Many people hire «day-​of» coordinators to navigate the many little details of a wedding, but here there is no need. Because Jeno alone works with you in the planning, and because he has such deep knowledge of the space and the staff, he taps into the sort of event you want and expect, and quietly brings it about. Even if this were not a beautiful venue, the peace of mind you feel working with a pro like Jeno – and his ability to help you relax and enjoy your own party – makes Manhattan Penthouse a wonderful place to hold a wedding.

The views were spectacular! From where I was sitting, to the right was empire state building and on my left was the freedom tower. Large windows throughout the venue that allowed plenty of natural light in. Perfect lighting for all those pictures we took. The food was not good at all. Not sure if its their fault or they had a separate catering company. But this place is beautiful.

Guest here for a wedding last night– I cannot comment on pricing, scheduling, etc., but I can comment on both staff and food.
The best passed apps I’ve seen, wonderful dinner (THOUGH NB: Lukewarm! Perhaps I should give 4 stars instead…). The STAFF was excellent. Everyone I was in contact with smiled, was polite, and was accommodating– something not seen enough anymore. Thank you!

I had my wedding at Manhattan Penthouse a couple weeks ago, and it was perfect. The food was great — everyone raved especially about the passed hors d’oeuvres — and the space and service were spectacular. Jeno Steiner, with whom we worked during the months of planning, was incredibly helpful the entire time. He performed maitre d’ duties at the event itself, and it ran flawlessly. It was the most perfect wedding I have ever attended, and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Came as a guest. Was impressed by the windows and the light in the space. Would love to see how it is at night. Elegant bar area. In the main room, food was OK, thought my chicken was a bit undercooked, but everything else was tasty. Staff was great.

Manhattan Penthouse hosted a wedding reception I attended on my last trip to NYC. What a venue! The views are stunning and the facility is (mostly) beautiful. There’s still some finishing touches to go on the place but I understand it is fairly new. The staff were incredible. I don’t know if they arranged the caterers or not but if they did they were excellent. They made our night great until closing time.
Close to loads of subway stops so it’s easy to get anywhere from there too, a nice perk.

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect night on our wedding! Jeno & Manhattan Penthouse crews were absolutely wonderful to work with and they went way above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was pure decadence. From the food, the service and the view are excellent! We definetely highly recommend Manhattan Penthouse to anyone who is interested in having an absolutely magical wedding experience!

After countless weeks of research, I decided on Manhattan Penthouse as our wedding venue and couldn’t have been happier with my decision. It’s been almost a year since our wedding; and after attending almost 10 others and noticing little things about their venues, i’ve come to greatly appreciate how everything played out with Manhattan Penthouse. I worked with Monika, the m’aitre dee on logistical details and Sam, the owner on negotiations.
A month before our wedding, the building went under construction and these unsightly pipes and gone up all over the big windows. Needless to say, as a first time bride I freaked out and didn’ tknow what to do. Monika and Sam were both extremely accomodating, understanding and offered us actually viable options we could use. We switched up the layout and everything worked out great.
I would say that the success of a venue all lies upon the owner and people that manage the day-​to-​day operations. Even under such duress both Sam and Monika were able to offer their empathy and options that we could depend on. I hope to work with them again at a future event.

As you enter the small lobby, a gentlemen ushers you into one of three small elevators. The 17^th floor is where most people head to — and the view doesn’t disappoint. You can see quite a bit of Manhattan from the three sides windows, and you get a great chance to see the city, especially at night where you can see all the way up to the Empire State pretty clearly on a good night.
The staff were pleasant and quick to respond to questions and issues.
The only strange part of the setup — lighting was very concentrated in some areas and less so in others — not sure if it was just an intention, but you could see the groups of people shy away from the very brightly lit areas and there were strange pockets of empty light. They did supply a microphone & audio system for an announcement, but it was a bit weak — couldn’t hear it over the din of the conversation until a few people started chiming on the glasses.
While I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the passed appetizers and the table snacks, I won’t use it as the representation of the possible food they may have available. The three bars they set up more than accommodated for the people attending.
Overall — staff and view — four stars. The elevators, lighting choice, audio — three, which leaves me at 3 stars since I can’t put 3.5.

Attended a party here with 120 people on a Sunday. That’s important, because being in an office building on the weekend, we had the 3 elevators to ourselves – no waiting, express rides up and down. You enter a rather spacious bar area with wrap around views. The two bartenders had no problems serving everyone while finger foods circulated. I was too busy socializing (or drinking) to notice because I didn’t sample a single one but everyone said they were fine.
Dinner is served in an adjoining ballroom with a dance floor in the middle. The views get nicer as the dusk deepends into night and the city lights come on. You’ve got Empire State to the north and World Trade Center to the South. You feel yes, we are celebrating in the Big Apple, that’s for sure, no doubt about it.
Dinner was never less than fine and on occasion was even better than that. The stand out was a perfectly seasoned, buttery melt-​in-​your-​mouth rack of lamb, tasting of mint and oregeno, and served perfectly medium rare, which I think is hard to do in a banquet setting. The Artic char was not fishy at all. Sides were OK, as was the ravioli appetizer. This was followed by a fruit plate for the table, a cookie plate, and an ice cream bar (I mean a bar where you could go and get scoops of the ice cream and toppings of your choice.) The space never seemed crowded and the staff never seemed flustered the whole night. Choose your dinner items well and you can have a nice catered affair here.

Last night my school held its annual formal at Manhattan Penthouse for the first time. The past two years, we had our annual event at Downtown Association down in water street area. But people were getting bored of the venue and didn’t want to return again for the same food and same setting etc. So our SGA VP worked really hard to find a new venue with equally attractive price, options, and better location for everyone.
I love how Manhattan Penthouse is so accessible through the Union Square stations. Even with all the subway weekend detours, we managed to arrive around 8 o’clock as the first couple. There was a coat check station immediately left of the entrance. The coat check lady was extremely sweet and she even took pictures for my fiancé and me. I had to repeatedly go back to my coat to get my phone and put in my flats and she had no problem whatsoever.
There was a bar station right by the entrance also. They had only 2 bartenders however and it was the only bar station in the whole venue. It was fine initially but it became a little chaotic an hr into the night. Open bar with only 2 bartenders? I had to wait about 10 mins just to get a diet coke.
Hors d’oeuvres were passed around during cocktail hours. There were tuna sashimi, crab cakes, veggie rolls, crème chicken in puff pastry, stuffed mushroom with walnut and goat cheese, beef empanada, and fried potato ball? (wasn’t sure what it was). About 2 servers walked around with each type of hors d’oeuvres each time. Towards the end of the cocktail hours however, they just left the plates of goodies right by the bar and tall tables in the reception area. I almost missed out on which ended up being my fav — the crème chicken puff pastry cuz they were literally just sitting by the end of the bar!
Exactly 1 hr into cocktail hours, they opened the doors to the main dining room which also had the dance floor right in the middle. They had a buffet station with servers (which was nice, kept the line moving and people didn’t pile their plates or picked at specific item they like in each dish). We were served white fish, pasta, sirloin, and a mushroom/​citrus salad. The food wasn’t that amazing except for the white fish — it was cooked perfectly! My fiancé however thought it was a little bland. I didn’t really have much room for the buffet since I overate during cocktail hours. By this time, we decided to get up to dance and go back out to the bar to grab a few more drinks (which was really inconvenient — wish they set up a mini bar in the main dining room).
My fiancé and I danced the night away as we wait for the dessert station to be set up. The dessert station which consisted of molten chocolate cake and fruits weren’t set up until another hr and half into the night. I was super excited to hear dessert station but was really disappointed to see only cake and fruits. The molten chocolate cake’s center was not even runny or warm. I took a bite and I opted for more fruits instead.
We stayed until 5 mins before the end of the night knowing that there were only 2 functional elevators to get back down from the 17^th floor. Overall we had a lovely formal night. The staffs were very accommodating (especially the coat check lady and the two bartenders). However I thought they were a little short staffed — took a really long time to set everything up. The venue itself is nothing special but it is at a prime location. You can see the empire state building but there were unfortunately scaffolding around. Don’t think I want my school to host its formal here again next year (I would be sooooooo disappointed if we do). Nevertheless it was a nice try of a new place!

I like the height of this place, and the light that comes in, but I don’t feel like it has the space around in the city it it needs to breathe. It feels a bit crammed into the urban grid.
That being said, I loved the service, ambiance, and swankiness of the Manhattan Penthouse, it certainly felt like it was made for high rollers.
The food was also very very good. Hors d’œuvre were very addictive, and the dinner was also tasty as well. Good amount of sauce, and tenderness of the chicken.
