History

Established in 2001.

Mariana Parma is an Independent Instructor, Performer, and Choreographer, in NYC since 2001, specializing in Argentine Tango and Salsa. Mariana has a B.A. in Dance and Communication from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. She has toured Nationally and Internationally, teaching, performing, and choreographing. She was part of the teaching staff at Dance Manhattan for more than 10 years and as a guest teacher at numerous Dance Studios in the U.S. and aboard. Mariana has instructed Salsa at Pier 54 since 2007 and the first Argentine Tango instruction in 2014 at Bryant Park for more than 300 people.

Mariana has been choreographing wedding dances, commercials, theater and film, as well as, coaching well renown dancers, choreographers, and actors in the styles of Argentine Tango, since 2001.

Ms. Parma is widely known and admired for her masterful expertise in Argentine Tango and Salsa. Mariana’s approach in teaching and performing is to transmit the essence of each dance style through the musicality and movement, making her a sought out performer, teacher, and choreographer.

As a performer Mariana has been featured in film, including Random Hearts starring Harrison Ford, and on national TV. Based in NYC, she was a producer and performer in the off-​Broadway hit Swango, the Musical, performed in Swing The Musical, Evita, Tango Fever, Romulo Larrea’s Ensemble, and numerous Tango productions. Coached Chita Rivera in tango, for her role in Venecia, directed by the late award winning American Playwright, Author Laurents and legendary Broadway performer Tommy Tune.

Internationally, she choreographed major Parle commercial in Mumbai, India, starring Bollywood star Roshan Hrithik. She is the 2013 HOLA award recipient for choreography and 2008, USA Tango Champion.
