Mary Jaeger designs sculped and dyed accessories for women and for the home, focusing on quality and hand-​made details. Drawing on her years in Japan and Southeast Asia, she creates timeless, well-​constructed designs in unorthodox colors, patterns and striking textures — a perfect blend of Eastern and contemporary Western ideas. Her signature work includes shibori dyed tees and 3D cashmere, alpaca and wool Mountain wraps and coats. Her hand-​knit, unisex alpaca Castle Collections of Hats and Arm Warmers offer luxurious protection against blustery winds. As one of her longtime customers puts it: «It’s classic with a surprising twist.»

History

Established in 1998.

Mary Jaeger is now in SoHO. The new atelier includes retail and design areas in a bright, sunfilled space. Design in Textiles by Mary Jaeger was previously located on Spring Sreet in NoLiTa for ten years.

Business Owner

Mary Jaeger began designing and stitching fabric objects at the age of four. Her passion for textiles lead her to Japan, where she lived and worked, designing for both the kimono industry and Japanese department stores for almost a decade. She also worked extensively in Southeast Asia. Currently Mary is based in SoHO where she designs and creates her signature collection of wearables and interior products. In addition, she exhibits her work globally and consults on design for fashion and for the home.
