Boutique dog walking services. We’re based in the Flatiron district but serve many surrounding areas. We are a small but carefully trained team of 4 highly referenced professional dog walkers, pet lovers and owners. We only walk one dog at a time because we believe dogs thrive and are happier when there’s a personal bond with their walker.

Excellent communication, Insured, pet CPR and Pet First Aid certified.

History

Established in 2007.

I lived with pets all my life and they gave me a lot. A few years ago, I decided it was time to give back. I volunteered for two amazing associations, KittyKind and MightyMutts. And I decided to make my dedication to pets my full time job. With an important difference: no group walks, ever. And a strong emphasis on care. Care for the pet, but also for the owner’s needs: reliability, dialogue, good and personal communication.

As the business started to grow, I understood the need for very few selected, trusted and reliable assistants that I personally train. There are no students looking for pocket money here. But dedicated care givers.

I reached out to Max The Pet Nanny for dog walking services about 3 months ago. His guy Chris has been my dog walker since. Chris is awesome.
My dog hasn’t been the easiest to walk. He’s a pitbull rescue with some (sometimes scary) leash anxiety. Chris has been patient and helpful over the last 3 months while I’ve worked hard on training my dog. He has been supportive as we’ve tried every different leash on the market, and will make adjustments when I ask for them.
He also sends email summaries with photos every time they go for a walk. Whenever he sees something out of the ordinary, he lets me know. This group has also been really flexible. When I need a last-​minute change, they accommodate. When I need a weekend walker, they find one for me (Hayden has been lovely).

If you are looking for a reliable person to care for your furry family, Max is your man.
My husband & I have used Max’s services for over two years now. He has you fill out a questionnaire in order to use his services which shows that he is thorough when he looks after your pets. He provides a daily email after each visit and pictures of your babies. I know that my kitties are in good hands with Max.
He’s also made himself available on short notice for several occasions which I really appreciated!

I would give zero stars if i could about this business. One of Max’s «assistants» has been walking my dog for two months when up until recently he told me he was leaving. I tried to get more information from Max about his «disgruntled employee» and he told me that he did not trust this person. Max did NOT reach out to me for days while he knew this person should not be trusted. When I asked for my keys back Max told me he couldn’t help and I would need to contact his «assistant» Max gets ZERO stars as a business owner. His «assistants» don’t show up and cannot be trusted. I am now spending hundreds of dollars to change my locks. Beware.

We’ve been using Max for about 18 months to walk our malti-​poo and he is great with her. Recently, we started using Tommy for our dog’s second walk since my girlfriend and I work long hours. Both guys are trust-​worthy, extremely accommodating if you have any last minute changes to your schedule, and will always send informative email updates.
It’s really comforting knowing that our dog is in good hands while my girlfriend and I are out of the apartment all day.

Max and his team are the best!
Mike is my dog-​walker, and my dog loves him, seriously loves him. like even may love Mike more than he loves me. Mike is so dependable, he has never not made an appointment, and that is saying a lot, because my schedule changes all the time when I travel for work. I give him short notice all the time (I know. my bad), and in 2 years, he has never missed a walk.
The prices are very reasonable, and they only walk one dog at a time (not very common for NYC dog walkers). A nice touch — I am emailed a picture every day that my dog goes for a walk, with the time of the walk and if my dog used the restroom. That may be TMI, but dog owners will understand. :)

Not that it is important, because they walk any size dog. but mine is a 60lb labradoddle. that happens to be the best dog in the world. Just sayin’

Max The Pet Nanny as well as Mike, Max’s trusty right hand man, have been caring for and walking my beloved Louie (Puggle) for over three years. I’ve not had better dog walkers ever and think they are the BEST. Truly reliable and trustworthy, i feel totally comfortable with them walking for my pooch and know they really really care about and love my doggie! Also, they email me with the «poop-​date» each day so I’m in the know about «goings-​on» and have been really invaluable from the start.
I totally recommend them!!! They’re the best… they’ve gone totally above and beyond for me, many many times. If i could, i give them six stars. So i will…

I have used Max The Pet Nanny’s cat-​sitting services several times over the years and I am consistently impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. Tiana recently watched my cats while I was away for 4 days and when I returned my cats were totally aloof, they did not seem to notice I was away at all! Max and his team are passionate animal lovers, when I use their service I have complete peace of mind my cats are well cared for while I am away (I especially love the picture update!) I highly recommend the reliable services of Max The Pet Nanny to anyone that loves their pet.

Max has been walking my yorkie-​mix Ari since July 2009. Over two years later, I would strongly recommend Max to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker. Max himself walks Ari every weekday around noon. He is incredibly professional (in a friendly and informal way) and has also been very flexible with me for last minute walks or cancellations.
Max has the keys to my apartment and I live with two other roommates. All three of trust Max and we have never had any problems with things broken or missing, etc.
He also goes above and beyond what is expected from a standard dog walker; in one case, I left for work smelling some sort of gas smell and was worried that something might happen to Ari while I was away. Max checked up on him once more in the afternoon, after walking him around 1pm, just to make sure he was okay.
