Maxsun Furnishings NYC

After reading the review below me about not receiving any help if you’re not Chinese, I had to put in my two cents.
I’ve spent about two weeks searching the internet & brick-​and-​mortar stores for exactly the right style & color of kitchen table chairs I wanted, & everything I found was coming up well over $ 100. I’m on a budget. Walked into Maxsun this afternoon, asked if they had what I was looking for (metal bistro chairs in bright yellow), and was back on the road with my purchase in less than ten minutes. And they were half the cost, same high quality, & IN STOCK (a New York miracle). Should’ve checked there first!
I am definitely & obviously not Chinese, & when I walked in I was greeted by smiles & offers of help immediately, without it being pushy at all. Not to mention the store was pretty busy with customers of all ethnicities, all being helped by the employees. Maybe the other reviewer caught at employee on a bad day or something, or perhaps it gets crazy on weekends (I went on a Monday afternoon, & the store was still fairly busy) but their experience is certainly not the norm here. Great service, great prices, easiest furniture buying I’ve ever done.

We could not have been happier with our purchase of a set of 4 very stylish chairs! The selection here is very extensive and the manager was very accommodating with our arrangements for the purchase. Thank you!

We had a great experience with the Maxsun Group. My room mate and I only recently moved to NYC and have been on the hunt for chairs to complete our humble Soho dwelling. Go no further than Maxsun, they have traditional and contemporary chairs to suit any apartment. Reasonably priced and friendly service, we managed to get 4 chairs for under $ 200. Would definitely recommend.

I looked high and low for some chairs our new apt and I was beyond pleased to discover this little gem. We did a ton of shopping around and these guys had the best selection and variety. Who knew it would be so hard to find red chairs?! These guys were great and I will definitely be back.

It is such a great store! We were shopping for a kitchen table and chairs and we were a little unsure as to what we wanted. They have a very large selection of furniture. Buying a table is an interesting experience. You can basically customize your purchase by selecting separately your table top, legs, color, size, and material. Options are endless. The salesman was very helpful. He was very patient with us and allowed us to move the furniture around in the store to see if different tables and chairs matched. We did this on more than one occasion and they were helpful each time and never lost patience with us. One of the best things is the price. We shopped around a bit and we found their prices very competitive with the other stores in the Bowery area. You are getting wholesale prices. We highly recommend this store for your kitchen furniture needs.

I’ve gotta say, I learned a little something about myself thanks to Maxsun and I’d like to use this forum to announce my revelation: I think I’ve been unconsciously racist towards Chinese businesses. I really thought they consistently displayed an unmatched eagerness to offer and gain business. I thought it was the Chinese way, a cultural thing. But, in fact, I was stereotyping. And I’m sorry for that. Not all Chinese businesses wish to serve their products to whomever they can. Not all Chinese businesses wish to offer good business, even. Businesses like Maxsun only wish to serve the Chinese community. And for that, Maxsun, I thank you. Your race-​selective attitude has brought me to Jesus about my own stereotypes. Hallelujah!
But, seriously, these guys don’t even try to hide it. It’s not like they see you’re not Chinese and just ignore you so you don’t have an opportunity to buy anything from them. It’s not like they just so happen to be rearranging products wherever you are just to keep an eye on you but never actually offer you help. These guys exercise a much more sophisticated brand of racism. They’ll unenthusiastically accept your credit card after you point at an item you want. You might get a grunt (that’s just them telling you the price). If you’re lucky, they’ll ask for your phone number. This request only serves as an illusion that there will be communication at some point (such a tease). Then they will never contact you. Once you return to the store for pickup they will seem bothered that you are there, confounded that you purchased something from them, and even more confounded by their very own system to document purchases. Bring some water and a snack in the event that there are other customers around who happen to be Chinese. You are not equal to them and it’s silly for you to even think that you should receive the same attentive service as they do. Shame on you. You should have known better.

got what i wanted, a stool chair that can move up and down when i want. the problem is that i wanted a black chair and they didnt have in their showroom. so i planned a date to pick up from warehouse and they too didnt have the black stool. i had to get it the next day in order to get the black version. they had to ship it out from nj location. they try to convince me to buy white, red, or brown. the stool works well and very comfortable for my ass. it was meant for it. i sit here for at least 4 hours a day.

They have a huge variety to choose from. Sample chairs and lighting’s were all over the place. Their prices are reasonable and the clerk was very helpful for suggesting the kind of lights I was looking for my kitchen ceiling. I also found some nice bar stool so I can use for the island in my kitchen.

This Gem is located at the commercial furniture and equipment district down at the Bowery, which is famous for having the best prices and selection. There are many similar stores on the Bowery but this one stood out with a large variety of selections and a very helpful staff. I came in to look for some chairs and tables to furnish a new restaurant. Mind you, i had a tight schedule but wanted my furniture to really stand out. My deadline was within a week and needed everything to be done for my opening. They had most of their products in stock in large quantities that I can have delivered the next day. The best part was that they made custom distressed wood tops for me just in time for a fraction of the price i was quoted else where. They even put in a rush order for my booth seating just so i can open in time. They were really helpful in meeting my time constraints and gave me tons of advice on the furniture layout and materials used. They even came out to take measurements for my booth at my location which was great since it was hell finding parking in the city.

Maxsun has such a huge range of seating selection, that even though I walked in and out of other furniture stores with one particular style of chair in mind, I was able to walk out of Maxsun a happy camper.
It’s a tad overwhelming walking in at first because of the hundreds of chairs that line the walls, walkways and I swear even on the ceiling, but it turned out to be a fun little treasure hunt. Plus it was nice to be able to give the chairs a test before committing. If you’re not the hunter type they also have a catalog of every chair they sell.
What I was hunting for was the tolix /​marais style chair and lo-​and-​behold, like a gem, Maxsun has it in stock and in multiple colors as well. All metal, and simply an awesome addition to my dinning room. And the prices are amazing. I definitely will go back for both the service and the selection.
