Dropped by after window watching people happily slurping down their noodles. Got myself a shio chicken ramen, which was truly delicious. Broth is light, flavorful and totally non-greasy. Comes with corn, pork, mushroom, greens, bean sprouts, spring onions and a perfectly cooked half egg. I’ve had great ramens that, though delicious, left me super heavy and too full at the end. Not this one, it was perfect. Service was extremely attentive and ambiance is cute.

This will now be on my rotating list of ramen restaurants — it’s a great UES gem! I kept seeing this pop up online and I had to give it a try — obviously I was not disappointed. It’s clean, spacious, and the service staff was extremely cordial and welcoming. My friend and I arrived around 5:30 Sunday evening and were seated immediately. Even during the early dinner hours, there was a nice buzz of people going. The menu options looked promising; there’s pork, beef, and chicken ramen options — we both got the signature beef ramen and an order of fried chicken. The ramen was good, and the fried chicken was even better! Definitely looking forward to going back and trying the different ramen options

I love this place. Was around midtown and saw this great spot for ramen. The beef soap base is on point and the taste is perfect. I would recommend this place for ramen lover :)

Very solid ramen option with plenty of seating. I got the spicy beef chili ramen which was everything I could have asked for. There was a lot of flavor in the broth without being overwhelming, a generous portion of ground beef, and perfectly cooked noodles. Would definitely come back to try other things in the menu.

On a cold day, ramen was just what my friend and I needed! We came around 2:15 and were seated immediately. The space is small but cozy. I had the Spicy Pork Miso ramen — it was delicious! The noodles were softer than I expected, but the broth was excellent. I wish the pork wasn’t cut up, but I still really enjoyed it. The broth is rich without being overwhelming. The ramen was $ 16 and can be found on the chef’s recommendation menu. Mei Jin’s ramen is pretty good, and it is in an excellent location.

My first ramen restaurant experience and it was delicious. I was curious from Unilocal reviews, had never eaten at a ramen restaurant, and this one seemed to be a top rated Ues spot. I called for delivery and once they were able to get my order and address(loud in the background/restaurant so it took a few repeats). Delivery time was good, and the first time ramen experience was great. I had the mei-Jin beef ramen, their signature ramen dish: ordered this one based on Unilocal pictures and realizing many of the other top dishes are spicy which I didn’t want. When I had my first bites I Recalled college days with ramen noodles … Nostalgia but this — ramen noodles in a flavorful broth and loaded with corn, arugula, beef — Mmm so good ! Glad to have discovered ramen and this particular spot which I Recommend highly for delivery.

Get in my face, you delicious bowl of fabulous broth, noodles, and perfectly cooked meat. Last time I was here I had the«chef recommended» Spicy Pork Miso ramen bowl. It was a flavor adventure that I can’t wait to have again. I drank every drop of the broth because upon tasting its complex, spicy, salty wonder, I became an animal that was incapable of doing anything besides consuming every piece of magic that was cooked into that heavenly hodgepodge of delights. Also had a pork belly roll. You just can’t beat good pork belly. Service was good as well. I’ll be back to visit you again, my beautiful ramen palace.

One of my favorite restaurants in the UES. This area was lacking on ramen. The food is fresh, served very quickly, great service(you’ll never have an empty water glass) and the restaurant interior is clean, well decorated and intimate. Delivery time is on the longer side, but food consistently comes hot and well packaged.

Overall, my experience was pleasant! We were dining at around 5:30 on a Saturday so the restaurant was relatively crowded so we didn’t have to wait long to be seated without a reservation(they would not seat us without the whole party being present) My boyfriend and I shared the mei Jin ramen with a side of noodles. The portions are very large and we actually had some leftover. The ramen had a nice umami and was very filling, especially given we were sharing. The meat was very tender and the veggies on top were a nice touch. I also had my friend’s egg(which is not included in the mei Jin beef ramen) which was DELICIOUS! I was disappointed in how squished together and close we were to the others at the restaurant. I was essentially trapped when I had to go to the bathroom and when I came back. I would probably not come here with a larger group

Pretty decent veggie ramen. I particularly liked the tofu skins it came with; just wish it came with more. Would come again if I’m in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way. If you’re a vegetarian, the spicy veggie ramen at Ramen-Ya or the wasabi ramen at Ippudo are better options. Also, why is the veggie ramen more expensive than all of the meat ramens? Also doesn’t make sense to charge $ 2 or $ 3 or whatever it is for only half an egg. Most places do a whole egg.

While this is no Ippudo or Momofuko, the ramen here is phenomenal and worth the visit. The broth is so flavorful and noodles perfectly cooked. They have a crab bun which was a tasty variation of the pork buns. We had the Mei Jin ramen and the soy ramen. Both were delicious. at $ 12 – 16 per bowl, it’s a definite bang for your buck. Pleasantly surprised by their cocktails. Lychee martini was fantastic, as well as one that had sliced ginger on top and served in a large interestingly shaped ceramic mug. The space is small and cozy and the staff was friendly. Will definitely be back for more!

My bf and I have become super fans of Mei Jin ever since we moved to the area. MJ offers beef broth and chicken broth in their ramen. The beef definitely gives it a hearty flavor that chicken cannot offer. Try the Meijin Miso ramen! The beef broth and the rich miso taste is extremely satisfying on a cold night. They also have an Okinawa salt pork ramen– while the soup is not as robust as the Meijin miso, the hint of seafood-y broth(anchovy and seaweed maybe?) is a more subtle broth. Check out the desserts too!

Reservations for parties of 4+. We ventured out into NYC last night for a family dinner at Mei Jin, and the restaurant was very good on following up, since we were running from our car to make it there on time after having difficulty finding parking nearby. We almost lost our table! We ordered a wide variety of appetizers, including the pork belly buns, gyoza, wasabi octopus, fried baby octopus, Japanese fried chicken, Asian shrimp toast, and edamame. After munching on the apps, we each ordered a ramen/katsudon. The main draw for us was the beef broth ramen they serve, since most ramen joints typically have either pork, chicken, or even fish broth. I tried the Beef Miso Ramen, Okinana Pork Salt Ramen, and the Green Silky Pork Ramen. The desserts! Oh my… definitely save room for the most important part of the meal! The green tea crème brûlée had a perfect amount of green tea and was not overpowering. Chocolate roll cake was filled w lots of delicious cream, the yuzu cheesecake was my least favorite, it was bland.

I had the Mei Min Miso Ramen while my wife had the Spy Beef Broth Ramen. We came during lunch on a Friday and they had a lunch special where you get to pick an app for free. I got the Japanese fried chicken and the wife got fried gyoza. The food was good. The Mei Min Miso Ramen had a tad bit of spice in it which is nothing to me, but for people sensitive to spicy food, maybe not. The Spy Beef Broth Ramen I’m assuming is the same flavor without the spiciness. I know we go to ramen places for the flavor on their broths, but I loved the cook on the noodles. It was perfect for me because I don’t like it too soft where it breaks before you put it in your mouth, and it wasn’t too firm where you can tell it needs more cooking. The chew on it was just great. Fried chicken was okay and so was the fried gyoza. Our bill was around $ 33 for both of us with tip(no drinks, just water). I have $ 4+ for tip. Totally worth it. A good place to go to if you need a ramen fix in the upper east side. Will definitely return when we’re in the area. I’ll post pics…

Don’t know what amazing lunch special everyone is talking about. but when I came here last Wednesday, the only lunch special they had was free gyoza or fried chicken with purchase of full price ramen. I was a bit disappointed, but no matter, the ramen was the main attraction anyway. I got the Mei-Jin(miso) ramen with beef. Here are my thoughts: — beef was pretty generous and reminded me of lightly seasoned bulgolgi — broth was not too salty and it seemed like just the right ratio of fat to whatever other amazing ingredients they put into the pot — portion was sufficient! I finished the whole bowl and wasn’t hungry until 5 hours later. — unfortunately it is on the pricier side around $ 14−15/bowl. Since it’s in my hood, I would gladly come back to this joint to try out the other options. However, it doesn’t make my list of «Last Foods to Eat If I Am to Die Tomorrow» Cute waitresses… if that matters to any of ya guys ;)

I am a frequent visitor as this is located right by my dentists office. Huge fan of the décor. Classy, clever and stylish. The bathroom is great! The service is always polite and prompt. Menu has a good selection. As for the ramen, it is definitely above average and settles our craving since we come from Long Island, that peninsula out east barren of all things ramen. Having tried several of the ramen varieties, the chicken spicy chili is my fav. The chicken broth shio felt a tad underwhelming. The flavors didn’t stand out. I tried to be adventurous and got the spicy chicken rice bowl /don and it was a disappointment. Flavorful but too salty. Essentially ground chicken meat sauce over rice. Got the pumpkin tempura and it was nice. Fluffy and lightly flavored. Delicious. Will keep going back as long as my teeth need to be cleaned! Will certainly revise my rating as I try other dishes.

I loved the feel of this restaurant. The service was impeccable – waitresses greeted you respectfully in Japanese, and were very attentive without being overbearing. My boyfriend and I came here after a long day’s hike, so I was really feeling something filling and comforting! I ordered a Japanese beer, which was deliciously cool and not bitter(although I picked the less strong of the two), and a plate of gyoza as appetizers. Gyoza was just fine(I have high standards for dumplings though, since there are so many good dumpling places in Chinatown/on the street/homemade), so nothing to complain there. I really loved my ramen – but I’ve only had mediocre ramen in Philly(looking at you, Ramen Bar in UCity…), so this was a pleasant surprise. The broth was perfectly spicy, and the noodles very, very well cooked. My boyfriend didn’t like his broth as much(he ordered a chicken miso broth… when ordering ramen, pork and spicy is the way to go!) but also had the same thing to say about his noodles.

Tuna Tar Tar($ 9): Tuna with ponzu glaze, sliced almond, smelt egg, chili oil and chive, creamy mayo, wonton chips, and basil sauce. Surprisingly really good. I wasn’t expecting much from a ramen shop, but the tuna was delicious and I loved all the components and flavors. I would absolutely eat this again. Nagoya Spicy Pepper Chicken Wings($ 7.50): Sweet soy, sesame, pepper, and chive. Wings were great and the flavor was fantastic. It wasn’t spicy, but had a nice kick with the sweet and salty. Spicy Chili Beef Ramen($ 11): Ground beef, bean sprout, arugula, naruto, watercress, bamboo, green onion, sesame, garlic chips, chili pepper, and ra-jan chili oil. Noodles were good and the broth was equally delicious. I didn’t care for the garlic chips, but they were also a little more burnt than I like. Soy Chicken Ramen($ 10): Braised pork, bean sprout, bamboo, watercress, naruto, egg, green onion, and sesame. This is what my friend ordered. I had the broth and it was also good. The ramen was good and completely satisfying(it was freezing and I was head-deep in the flu), but neither stands out for a return visit. Especially with so, so many amazing ramen shops in the city. The appetizers were both really yummy and great enough to stand on their own.

This place is so good! Love having a solid ramen option in Yorkville! Curry ramen is the bomb. Corn tempura rocks. Beef, chicken, or veggie broths for your liking. Beer and cocktails too. 80’s hair metal playing in the background. Rock on! \m/ Friendly fast service with a smile. On small side but lots of seating with communal tables. Cozy and simple layout with a chill vibe. Great for a date or with friends. Perfect choice for a big bowl of hot ramen noodles. Hits the spot when it’s cold or rainy out. Great new addition to the hood. My fav ramen spot in the area. They are also connected to a dessert bar next door. Another win for Yorkville/UES!

I really like this place. The best in the UES. The flavor is intense and rich. But somehow towards the end I felt it was too much. The desserts are awesome.
