When I first stopped in their store they had a great collection of rings and genuinely seemed to care about helping me.
I purchased a discounted Tacori engagement ring and was assured it was authentic and I’d be taken care of. I was told I’d receive a complimentary sizing and recommended to come back after the proposal to ensure the perfect fit.
Problem 1: It wasn’t until after I purchased the ring that they decided to tell me I wouldn’t get the authentication number and card because it was discounted but not to worry.
I came back a week later to pick out the diamond for the ring with Chris which was an excellent experience. The only reason why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. It’s also worth noting that I paid full-​price for this diamond.
Problem 2 & 3: After proposing we got back in touch with Michael C. Fina to find out that A) they’ve closed their doors and are now online-​only and B) Despite previously being told when I purchased the ring that I’d get a complimentary resizing, that because the ring was discounted we couldn’t get the complimentary re-​sizing, and if we do want it that we’d need to go to another jeweler to get sized then mail the $ 7k ring out to Michael C. Fina for 2 weeks to be resized.
At that point why wouldn’t I just find another jeweler who can size and clean in person, especially if we have to go to another jeweler to get it resized to begin with?
What was supposed to be a personal and meaningful investment turned into somewhat of a bad dream, complete with questionable customer service and devious sales tactics. If I could do it all over again I would’ve paid full-​price for the ring, or just have gone to another jeweler altogether.

Uggg… unbelievably frustrating! Ordered a piece of china. It was in stock but took 3 weeks to arrive. Arrived today & was incorrect item. Customer Service woman on phone told me that there was no picture of the item on the Michael C. Fina website & was quite indignant about it. When I helped her find it, she did not apologize. She also did not apologize for the incorrect item being sent to me. She simply said that the item on the website is pictured incorrectly… again, no apologies. After I spent 8 – 10 minutes on the phone with her, she then said that she couldn’t help me. That I had to call back tomorrow because the person with whom I needed to speak had gone home a few minutes ago. INFURIATING!!!

Stay away from online order with this store!
I placed an order with M. Fina through their website for 3 pairs of mikimoto earrings as gift. It was a good deal as they have a big discount on all in-​stock merchandise. I was able to add all the items to cart (meaning these are in-​stock) and placed the order with all payment information through smoothly. A few days passed, I didn’t received any shipping notification but my order still says ‘in progress’ so i was assuming it’s a little back-​order with all the holiday traffic. A week passed still no communication… I finally called them up and they just simply say… oh we are out of stock, you never got any email? This effectively ruined my holiday gift plan to my mother, wife, and sister and leave me to scramble. I’m not sure how the in-​store experience might be but this is my first and also my last experience with this store given how unreliable they are. You can’t be this unprofessional in the business of selling high-​priced, luxurious jewelry… better stick to Tiffany, Cartier, or Nordstrom for ease of mind!
p/​s: though they do deserve one star because customer service was really straight forward on the phone letting me know (a) you order is out of stock, (b) nothing we/​you can do about it, and © sorry, bye

I just had some of the worst customer service experiences that I have had in a long time. I was at the store picking up an order from their «Going Out of Business» sale. I dealt with a so-​called manager who was downright nasty, absolutely vile. Her manner made her more suited to be working behind the register at Duane Reade. Well I guess we all know now why they’re going out of business. Good riddance.

Considering how stressful the process of buying an engagement ring and diamond is, I was extremely fortunate to meet Niqcole Lombardo at Michael C. Fina. For anyone on the market for an e-​ring, I highly recommend that you contact Niqcole because she is top notch and will really help make the process easier.
I found out about Michael C. Fina because of their 80^th anniversary sale (which is still going on) where they were offering awesome discounts on their in-​stock engagement ring settings (and other jewelry). I was able to connect with Niqcole from my first phone call and she was a gem. Being located in Los Angeles, I had planned on purchasing only the setting from Michael C. Fina and sourcing a center stone diamond elsewhere where I could see the stone prior to purchase, but Niqcole made me feel comfortable throughout the process by being so knowledgeable and personable that I ended up buying a Hearts on Fire diamond from her as well. I really had to trust her to be my eyes and she did not disappoint. She sent me all the information about the stone (pictures, video, certificates) prior to purchase and it helped that the Hearts on Fire diamonds have such a great reputation for being among the best cut stones in the industry. Now that I received the completed ring, I have to say that it is awesome and worth the extra cost.
Don’t be afraid of Michael C. Fina’s designation as a high-​end jewelry store because you can still get an excellent deal (especially now during their sale) and be sure to ask for Niqcole. Her attention to detail and follow up service are as good as they get. Thanks Niqcole!

I recently purchased a wedding band for my husband at Michael C. Fina. Although I initially had a disappointing experience, when I went back to the store a few days later to pick up the ring I had purchased, the manager of sales had learned about my dissatisfaction and she took the time to address the problem with me. She was genuine and professional and I got the sense that she (and the other sales associates at Michael C. Fina) sincerely want their customers to have a good and satisfactory experience. In the end, I left the store thinking that perhaps my initial bad experience was more of a misunderstanding and I will be happy to shop at Michael C. Fina in the future. I also should point out that they have one of the best and most diverse selections of men’s wedding bands in the city (based on my experience).

In July my now fiancé and I wanted to look at engagement rings to get a sense of what I liked. I didn’t know where to start or what type of ring I wanted. After looking on their website and reading reviews, we went to Michael C Fina where Cynthia helped us find the perfect ring. She was so warm and welcoming, explaining to me the differences in settings and cuts, helping me to narrow down my preference. She wasn’t pushy at all although I fully expected that to be part of the process. Although I was set on a ring here, we made appointments at Harry Winston and Tiffany’s, but there we were met with attitude. The experience at both these places made me feel like I had no business being there and they were not very nice about the fact that I did not know what exactly I was looking for. (i.e. at Tiffany’s, I was not able to tell if the diamond on the ring was round or square since it was in the back of the case so I asked, «is that a princess cut?» to which the person laughed and responded «no, that’s round. Princess cuts are square.»
My fiancé ended up buying the ring that I loved from Michael C Fina and we are now engaged! We continue to receive excellent service as I recently returned to have my ring re-​sized. There they mention that they want you to feel like part of the family and it really is true. We will purchase our wedding bands there and I highly recommend Michael C Fina to everyone! Besides the wonderful and warm service, the rings are gorgeous! I saw several I liked as opposed to Tiffany’s and Harry Winston where the rings seemed basic and the selection was slim and overpriced.

Andrea Cassis is absolutely the must go-​see sales associate at Michael C. Fina. Her taste is impeccable and she couldn’t have been more helpful or kind during my visits to register. I cannot recommend her more.

I learned about Michael C Fina In an odd way & figured I’d go check out the store. I’m so glad I did. Not only did they have such gorgeous jewelry but we’re also very pleasant & helpful. I purchased my wedding band and my husband’s wedding band from Michael C Fina. The pieces themselves are very nice but it’s the customer service that sets this place apart. Cleanings are complimentary, the employees are very knowledgable and kind, and the selection of sparkle is amazing. Gabriella helped me today with getting my husband’s wedding band polished and she couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.

I recently got engaged to my boyfriend of over four years. We had several conversations about settling down together, and we knew we were each other’s penguins. By the third year, I started to look around at rings online to get a sense of what I liked and stumbled upon Michael C Fina’s site. I was impressed by their extensive selection and unique styles to choose from.
It just so happens their store is next to my old work. So, one day I popped in to look at some rings in person. When I arrived at the first level (where their engagement rings are), Gabriella introduced herself and let me try on a few rings I liked. After trying on some amazing, gorgeous rings, I knew I wanted a thin band with micro pave in rose gold. However, I told her my boyfriend at the time and I were still just dating and didn’t have any specific timelines or dates set, and she said that was totally fine. She offered to take my ring size so they could keep it on file if my fiancé did want to come in and inquire more information about different ring options. She also gave me her business card, which I «accidentally» put in my fiancé’s sock drawer so he knew where to go.
Fast-​forward a year-​ish later, when my fiancé proposed he opened up the ring box with a gorgeous ring that has all of the details I wanted! After I had time to collect myself from all of the excitement and emotions, my fiancé told me he had worked with Gabriella who helped him pick out the ring and customize it in rose gold. From what he said, she was extremely helpful, patient, not at all pushy, and worked with him every step of the way to ensure I’d love the ring, which I do!
I highly recommend anyone who’s ready to pop the question to both visit Michael C. Fina and specifically ask for Gabriella to help you find the ring of the your future fiancé’s dreams!

Terrible customer service — if you can’t deliver just tell me!
I ordered some silver table ware 10 Nov and was advised via email that it would be shipped to me no later than 28 Nov. I followed up my order 5 Dec and was advised that it should reach their warehouse soon. They told me to call in a week if I still did’t have it. I didn’t have it and despite many more conversations they were of little assistance telling me that they really couldn’t confirm when the items would arrive but at the same time assuring me that they might still get to me before Christmas. Three days before Christmas I called and they told me that it wouldn’t make it before Christmas and that I should expect delays at that time of year. I reminded them that I had ordered this 10 Nov to allow for this. I subsequently cancelled my order and went to Bloomingdales and got them same day.

I went to the store to look for very specific item that I was told they would carry. The store associate at the time Zhanna informed me that they don’t have it in the store but they would order it for me. I mentioned that I needed it in about a week and she said she would try her best. She went above and beyond not only to make sure I received the item in time but also kept me posted on the status of it during transit. She made shopping at the store a very enjoyable experience and I would not hesitate to go back to her or refer her to anyone for any of their needs regarding Michael C. Fina.

Purchased a Tacori engagement ring and band three years ago for my now wife. At the time we were very impressed with their displays & customer service (Stuart, old location). We were promised at the time of purchase that we could come back at any time that they were open and have our rings cleaned and polished which was another reason we decided to buy from Fina. Recently when we went to the new location we were told by a not so nice employee that they no longer cleaned rings on the weekend and that we needed to make an appointment to clean them during the week! REALLY! We drove 1.5 hours to the city to have this ring cleaned and they couldnt even send an email or notice informing their customers of the new rules? This is not the type of service that i expect from this company and needless to say i will not be buying from them again. Thanks for nothing Micheal C Fina.

A few months back I picked up an engagement ring for my now fiancé. Joseph at Michael C. Fina treated us right. He was knowledgeable, guided us through the process and most importantly didn’t pressure us to buy.
If you’re in the market for Tacori, they have a direct relationship with the manufacturer so the turn around time is quicker. Furthermore, they stand by their product and are willing to make any adjustments as needed.

I’ve never thought in my wildest dreams I’d be looking for an engagement ring. I stopped into Michael C. Fina at 500 Park Ave (NYC) and was met by the lovely Andrea Cassis. Andrea was very pleasant, informative, and patient with me as I was totally nervous and unsure on what to get. However, I knew I wanted to purchase a Hearts on Fire ring. My now fiancée, Deayn mentioned that brand to me a few times so I did a bit of research. Adding to my knowledge gained throughout my own efforts, Andrea was able to inform and educate me more on the product and high end brand. I decided to go with the HOF Enrichment engagement ring! EXCELLENT CHOICE!!! I have to honestly say that because of the emotion and efforts involved with making a such a huge decision, it’s very important that your jewelry consultant meets you with a pleasant and helpful approach to make the purchase and decision a bit less stressful. After all, this is a big deal! Andrea Cassis did just that! After I proposed, my fiancée and I returned to the shop to meet with Andrea. She gave my fiancée knowledge on how to care for the ring, when to get it serviced, and because the ring was slightly too big was able to have it sized while we waited and drank champagne in celebration. What an all around amazing experience! Kudos to Michael C. Fina and Andrea Cassis. If you need a Jewelry Consultant and are in the NYC area, stop by Michael C. Fina at 500 Park Ave. and ask for Andrea, you won’t be disappointed!!!

I am very fortunate that my husband bought my engagement ring from Michael C Fina. From the moment he purchased the ring to after the proposal Michael C Fina has been incredible! I needed to get my ring sized the day after he proposed and the customer service was more than excellent. I walked in and was immediately offered champagne or water… as it was a celebratory day, I went with Champagne of course! The jeweler in house was able to put in small ball shots that day and within minutes I was on my way out of the store feeling confident my ring was not going anywhere.
Right before our wedding last month (literally a week before we were leaving to go to Florida) we decided to make some last minute changes to my engagement ring. I walked into the store and met with Joseph Boivin, from the moment we met I knew I was in good hands. The changes to my ring involved incredible efforts by Joseph and the Michael C Fina team. My ring is designed by the lovely Erica Courtney which is located in Los Angeles… which meant my ring needed to be shipped to California and back to New York all in the course of 6 business days — including the work we wanted done to it! Joseph was on the phone discussing every option with me and the Erica Courtney team and he made it happen! My engagement ring was back in my possession just as Joseph said, well before our flight to Florida! And it looked INCREDIBLE!

I’ve had a tremendous experience at Michael C. Fina, due to a large number of high quality, friendly salespeople but most of all thanks to Joseph Boivin. My fiancé is in Argentina and I am here in New York, which could have proved to be too difficult for some salespeople. However, Joseph was patient, kind, and understanding in helping us to deal with international transactions in order to purchase a really beautiful ring from Alex Sepkus. We’re thrilled with the opportunity to find a ring that fits both of our cultural expectations and traditions, an experience that we know is quite unique and really came about due to the great care, customer service, and sincere interest expressed by Joseph and the fabulous artistry of Alex Sepkus.

Helping a friend and her hubby to pick out their wedding bands is what brought me to Michael C. Fina. I kind of expected snobby sales people (like those from Tiffany’s), but instead, we were greeted and helped by really down to earth people. The only thing I will point out is that our saleswoman mistakenly read the price for one of the rings at $ 1000 less than what it was, which my friend only found out after leaving the store when she checked the ring on-​line.
The atmosphere is light, so you don’t feel pressured that you have to buy something right away, they understand that engagement rings, wedding bands are a big commitment, and let’s face it, name brands aren’t cheap. I also enjoyed the home section of the store, while some of the extravagant plate settings might be a little much for my 20s, I’ll consider them for my mid-​30s.
