Business Owner

Mitchell Wayne has has been working as a professional dancer in New York City for the past 5 years, having appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America and Jay Leno. He also trained under Dancing With The Stars’ choreographer Luis Van Amstel, and has worked alongside members of the Pussycat Dolls and contestants from So You Think You Can Dance. His diverse background in dance has been acknowledged with features in The New York Times, New York Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar, however Mitchell Wayne stays grounded and maintains his greatest passion in all things performance based. Formerly an instructor for Broadway Bodies family, Mitchell Wayne has now ventured into his own by founding Mitchell Wayne Productions.

Mitchell knows what he’s doing, on top of that, he is really nice and has such a positive energy you just feel great being around. His class is a decent and challenging enough workout + choreography, but it’s still good for all level.

Mitchell is super fun and has awesome energy!
I most recently took his Beyonce class. I came for a good workout but just had a lot of fun. Not a bad thing at all… but for someone looking for a sweaty work out, it didn’t make the cut for me.
This is NOT a challenging dance class, but it’s a great session to loosen up and have some fun. Mitchell creates a fun, easy breezy environment where you can bring out your Sasha Fierce. But for me, I felt like I needed a little something more.
Could be a fun class for a big group of friends, but other than that, I’d look elsewhere if you’re looking for a challenging dance class to sweat it out.
I’m curious about other workout classes he teaches bc I’ve heard awesome things about his Crunch classes. If anything, I left wanting to know where I can get more of Mitchell! He’s a great, encouraging personality.

I have been an avid fan and participater in Mitchell’s Beyonce dance classes since he started them back when he was with Broadway Bodies. Mitchell is not only an incredible dancer, but a VERY good instructor. He brings humor and light-​heartedness to the class.
When thinking about what I wanted to do for my 25th birthday, I contacted Mitchell and inquired about doing a private class. The process was SEAMLESS! He was incredibly responsive via email and we were able to lock down a date and time within days.
The private class itself was INCREDIBLE. My friends were nervous coming in but we had the BEST TIME and I got so many compliments on the unique birthday idea. One of my friends even booked her bachelorette party with him a few weeks later!
I would highly recommend this establishment and the classes that they offer!

I had never taken a dancing class prior to Michell Wayne’s Friday happy hours and am clearly a beginner. His class was a lot of fun, very welcoming and absolutely for all levels. 45 minutes flies by and I’m always really glad that I went.

I love Mitchell’s Beyonce classes!!! You will not be disappointed if you take a class with him. First off he really enjoys teaching class which makes a huge difference in the experience. He’s not like the snooty ballet teacher you had as a kid. He makes learning fun and encourages you to find your inner Beyonce /​Sasha Fierce /​Yonce. It’s a really comfortable environment to learn in and Mitchell is hilarious too.

Mitchell used to be an instructor at Broadway Bodies, and I honestly went to those classes just for him! I was delighted to find out that he had branched out and formed his own company! He offers the same Beyonce classes that put him on the radar at Broadway Bodies, but will eventually open up to do burlesque, street jazz, and hip hop classes. I can’t wait!
Mitchell is so humble and genuine. He is always so grateful that he is in the position he is in, and makes sure each student learns how to express himself/​herself through dance. Learning the steps is an important part of each class and he, of course, goes over the steps clearly. To him, what’s even more important is to make the dance your own. He often says that if you look at Beyonce’s backup dancers closely, each one interprets the same dance in his/​her own way.

I’ve taken plenty of amateur dance classes in my time in New York, but I’ve never felt as passionately about attending those as I do Mitchell’s classes. They’ve become a staple of my workout routine and, honestly, a key to my sanity! His classes always lift my mood, and give me an incredible workout without my even noticing … because I’m having so much fun. He also makes any choreography super-​accessible in a way no other teacher I’ve had has done. Totally welcoming and non-​intimidating way to have some fun *and* work out.

I always leave Mitchell’s classes feeling fantastic!
Mitchell has a real gift for breaking down complex choreography into manageable chunks. So even though the routines — ripped straight from music videos and stage performances — are challenging, his classes are great for people at all levels. Physically, you get serious cardio time, while working core, neck, and back muscles you didn’t even know you had.
But the best thing about class with Mitchell is how he rallies each person in the room to bring his or her best self to the dance floor and shine. His message is, essentially, «If you own it, no one can stop you!»

No matter what he’s teaching, Mitchell makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome in his fitness classes. Even the most nervous rookies can’t help but come out of their shells! A great dance workout that leaves you dripping in sweat and wondering where the time went. Highly recommend!

I’ve taken around 20 Beyonce classes with Mitchell and loved every one. I’ve brought skeptical coworkers and friends along, and they left elated and ready to sign up for more classes. Mitchell Wayne is the real deal!
In class, you warm up to one song before learning the main dance, which is inspired by choreography from the actual music video. Mitchell stresses that no questions about steps are stupid ones, and he always encourages you to put your own spin on the choreography he gives you. The steps you’re doing aren’t important — what matters is that you GO THERE and lose your inhibitions.
And, if you’re willing to let loose and go for it, the dances you put together and perform at the end of class are amazing.
I feel really lucky to have found Mitchell — he creates such a supportive environment where nobody judges anyone and everyone’s there to learn from each other and have fun. What more could you ask for in a class?
