Dr. Wan’s office is extremely busy even though there are three attending physicians(Dr. Wan, Dr. Fong and Dr. Wang). I understand that some of them are not in the office all the time due to deliveries and other emergencies. However, an hour-long wait time for EVERY single visit is really unacceptable. Respecting patient’s time is a basic requirement for a professional office. Otherwise, what is the point of making patients to schedule appointments? Besides the extremely long wait time, the office is so busy that the doctors don’t have time to really sit down and answer patient’s questions during the visit. Being a first-time parent, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of testing and procedures throughout my pregnancy. The doctors never actually told me why they ordered the tests they did, and I never saw the test results.(I assumed that they were negative, which was why they never mentioned about it during my subsequent visits.) On top of that, they perform unnecessary ultrasound procedures for all pregnancies during ALL your visits regardless the risk level. I had a low-risk pregnancy and I already had SIX ultrasound done before I even reached 22 weeks! Being in the medical field myself, I know for a fact that those procedures were absolutely unnecessary, especially for low-risk patients. The only reason why they did it was to generate more revenue for the office. When questioned, they made it sound like an ultrasound per visit is necessary to make sure the baby was developing correctly even for low-risk patients. This is completely false information and can only be used to trick non-medically trained people! The only reason they failed to explain the necessity of all the testings and ultrasound is so that they can make more money! I guess it is very easy to charge the government-sponsored insurances for all the procedures if the patient population is mainly immigrants who don’t speak English or have no medical knowledge. I became extremely disappointed at the care received in Dr. Wan’s office that I had to switch to a different OBGYN midway through my pregnancy. I don’t agree with Dr. Wan’s practice philosophy. He might be courteous and nice when talked to. But he fails to perform the basic requirement for a medical profession, which is to inform patients about the situation. I will not recommend his office to anyone, especially first-time parents who need information to guide them through one of the most important phases of their lives.

My wife is the patient & I review as the husband of said wife. Dr. Stephen Wan is the primary lead obgyn whose 35 years of excellent results includes helping the births of many area friends. His lengthy successful record is hard to dispute & we see why as his personal care, attention to detail, wide range of experiences, foresightful personality & overall excellent staff & operation are key to this record. The office staff are also very efficient with billing & scheduling, calling before appointments, etc. We are very satisfied. Building is home to many medical practices, but for us, it’s just so very convenient to reach from the B/D train at Grand St. They hold classes monthly for expectant mothers & fathers(Cantonese, some Mandarin, little English). Staff are fluent in Cantonese, English, some Mandarin, some Vietnamese. Assisting Dr. Wan are Dr. Jason Fong & Dr. Margaret Wang whose care are similarly attentive, and though less on experience, we’ve come to see they are well qualified. This business listing has a Miu but I’ve never seen a Dr. Miu here.
