The time and I have met some of the greatest people in there!
Most often they just don’t know … Like saying «we have no light for rollerblades» when I got them here last month just couldn’t find them in the store… So take yourself by the hand and ask again or look!
I found what I wanted when asked another person! He was soooo helpful and nice! We took all packaging off and tried every thing! He was perfect! And cute …
And they be help me on return even tho I was bad and had a receipt giving me a store credit when really they didn’t have to as I was at fault!
Great and large selection! Well organized !

Modells in general has always been my go-​to for athletic apparel. But avoid this location if you can. Some «manager» named either Eddie or Eric is about as useless as a human being can be. The epitome of unhelpful and unapproachable.

Pretty big Modell’s with either two or three floors (can’t remember if there’s a basement). I stopped by just to return something and the cashier was super nice and took care of things very quickly. Things are organized, and they sell things you’d expect a Modell’s to sell, so that’s always good.

It’s unfortunate that employees at this location don’t care about CS as much as they enjoy lip synching songs on the stereo. I’ve came here twice to buy something. The entire store felt vacant, with sale associates giggling among themselves in the corner.
When I went back to return something, THREE employees behind the cash register rolled their eyes while treated the transaction as the lowest point of their day. Sorry to actually having stepped a foot in your empty sporting store castle. Im going to take my business elsewhere where employees are happy to help and answer any questions.

Multiple stories, upper level is Nike wear and lower level is more equipment.
Came at 7pm on a Monday and it wasn’t crowded, they have a big selection of Dumbbells, both steel and rubber. $ 7.99 for one 5lb weight.
The store itself is just a little dingy, and the salespeople were not exactly interested in helping, but the cashier was friendly and moved the line.

Needed a couple pairs right away so went to Modell’s.
False advertise inventory and availability. Placed order online with expedited shipping — received order confirmation and thought I was done.
Item showed in stock and again received confirmation of order at time of order but then received non-​descript email following day saying order cancelled — with no explanation.
Had to contact customer service to find out the item was in fact out of stock.
Will NOT be ordering from this place again — go to ZAPPO’s instead folks.

Could not believe how helpful everyone at this store was. It was Thursday afternoon and they were not terribly busy, but the employees were polite and pleasant throughout my shopping experience. Will definitely make a point to give them my business. Two pairs of shoes for $ 120 total. Speaking of reasonable, not bad.

Ralph, game me amazing costumer service, he is very helpful, pleasent and went the extra mile.

The staff was really helpful and nice. Every time anyone saw me, they offered help. I bought a reasonably prices pair of running shoes and running gear. Everything seemed to be good quality and pretty inexpensive. I will be coming back here instead of reebok or footlocker for more gear.

This Modell’s location is in a nice part of town and should be tailored to the clientele. They are constantly out of sizes with no restocking effort. The merchandising is tough and today, for example, I went into buy replacement workout gloves. The shelf was stocked so ¹⁄₃ of the gloves were pegged in reverse (back of packaging facing out). Annoying to look at sizes. NO small, medium or large of the gloves I wanted — only XL and XXL. Not one single of the other sizes. That just blows my mind.

This is a bit late but my review is for the date 03/​30/​2013.
I went in and there was a male employee there to greet people. It was not just a «Hey, whats up «. But rather «Hi, how may I help you today? «. I asked him where the sneakers were located (Specifically the Air Max + 2013). I also asked him if they (Modells) accepted competitors coupons. His answer was to go down the escalator and they do accept!
Happily as I go down the escalator and found that they had the sneaker in stock and the colour I want. There was a young female employee that assisted me in looking for my size. She was pretty knowledgeable and really friendly. Rather than just giving me the box and tell me to try it on, she pulled out the paper and untied the laces for me too !
I proceeded to the cash register and I bought it at 25% off (coupon from sports authority). Have to say that they treated me really well. When I was leaving the male employee that greeted me asked me how things went and then said have a great day. I would love to name the people that helped me, but I forgot the names on their tags. Only thing I have is the receipt and it says Naomi.

I called asking for a particular product, and they told me they didn’t have it. Lo and behold, when I went in with a friend, they had it! They are useless over the phone.

Standard Modell’s with stocked inventory and helpful staff. No cross-​training shoes, though, which probably is more about Modell’s and the market than this store in particular. Nonetheless, the guy who helped me out tried to explain to my sneaker options.

As with most Modell’s this one is a nice store carrying all the basic sports gear and apparel. This location is spread out over two floors with limited space but they pack it pretty full with the room they have to work with. When I visited here a few days ago the staff was attentive and asked me if I needed help while looking for some new sneaks, but were not overbearing.
I hate when salespeople jump all over you as soon as you walk in a store. To me, that is the worst and drives me nuts. Leave me alone and let me friggin’ shop! If I need help I will ask! This location’s staff thankfully were pretty cool and low key.
Decent selection and prices are reasonable. Always seems like there are sales and specials. Pick up a flyer by the front door before going in. Sign up for the cash-​back card program they have and you will also receive email updates.
I did notice a big sale on certain Knick’s gear as if they are trying to get rid of it. I guess Linsanity is definitely over!

I’ve lived next door for almost 2 years and never gone in but thought I would check it out yesterday. For work out apparel I would say there selection is pretty lack luster.
The staff was not rude but it seemed like every one was tranquillized or at least very subdue. Was pleasantly surprised with the selection downstairs though they had a lot of selection of work out paraphernalia. I got a silicone swim cap that blows my old one away because it doesn’t pull your hair when you put it on or take it off also on a random note this is one of the few sporting good stores in the city I have seen that have a roller blade selection, not sure who needs this but useful to know.

Even though the selection is not as great as at the Paragon Sports the prices at Modell are much lower and the people are much more helpful and friendlier.

This Modell’s is pretty tiny (well, the upstairs is, I didn’t check downstairs) — I ran in because I was hoping to find some cheap running shirts for working out. I circled the upstairs in under a minute, and was a bit disappointed at how small this place.
I feel like Modell’s prices could be a little cheaper. Maybe I just came at the wrong time, an off-​sale season?
Upstairs, for the women, they had a lot of Adidas, Reebok, and Puma shirts, but you have an idea of what their regular prices are, right? Like $ 20-​$ 40 depending on what the item is. Some of the items had 20% off, but to me, I still don’t want to be paying $ 20+ for something that I’ll sweat in for 30 minutes. I was hoping I’d snag a shirt for $ 10 or less that wasn’t of bad quality, but I didn’t find any here for women. I can find similar items at Kohl’s (they carry Adidas and Fila…) with similiar or greater discounts there.
So, I’m not really impressed with Modell’s.

I got my boxing gloves here. Slim selection for Women’s boxing gloves… like seriously… not all girls love pink.

I came back since I lost my wrist wrap gloves and the staff here were too lazy to check if they have any size small in the back.
WTF.

I’ve visited this Modell’s location several times, and have always had a great experience.
First time, I needed an exercise mat. There were 3 to choose from, all reasonably priced. Awesome.
Second time, I needed some softball equipment. They weren’t incredibly lefty-​friendly. But, for all you rightys out there, most places aren’t. Consider yourself lucky! Despite this, I was still able to find everything that I needed. As I was checking out, the salesperson recommended that I purchase something else… but not in that creepy, condescending «I-​know-​more-​than-​you» or «I’m-gonna-get-commission» kind of way. I took him up on his advice, and walked out a super happy guy.
Third time (a few days ago), I received an E-​blast advertising a winter clothing sale. I needed a new coat/​something that even remotely resembled a coat pretty badly, so I ventured on over to Mo’s during my lunch break. Within five minutes of setting foot in the store, three staff people had already asked if I had needed any help. I was directed to the winter sale section, and I went to town. The minute I had all of the coats/​fleeces/​warm things in hand, an associate came over and asked if I needed the dressing room, and unlocked it for me right away. I was in and out, sporting a spiffy new jacket, in under 15 minutes. Amazing.
The layout is customer-​friendly, as are the staff. And, reasonable prices and a full stock of items to boot. I’ll definitely continue to use this location in the future.

So, not entirely sure how I scoured Unilocal and couldn’t find the 6^th Avenue location.
Perhaps my review is swayed because there were all kinds of stuff on sale! Everything from adidas gear to sports bras to fan gear — it was great.
I really actually like this Modell’s. MUCH better than the BK location I normally find myself dreading to enter, I actually plan to hit up this one on Sixth Ave on my way out of work. Great, inexpensive, fun stuff. Where I go to get my gear! w00t!
