MTA Subway 125th St 4-5-6 Trains

This green line service makes me regret moving to the Bronx every single day I’m challenged with a new ridiculous guess of how long it’s going to take to get home… Like today I left work at 5 it’s 6:20 and I’m not close to being home the communication is terrible don’t know if anyone really knows how to make announcements to let commuters know the real reasons behind the bullshit delays … It’s so frustrating though they encourage citizens to take public transportation which sucks but when this happens it’s just horrible every afternoon I wonder if they give these jobs to any person cause that’s what it feels like with the lack of brains that’s used

I have used this subway station many times throughout my life and not much has ever changed.
They have renovated and made lots of improvemnts to the station physically. However, there is one thing about ths station that i think will never change and that is the people who loiter in the area. Unfortunately, this area houses many of the cities drug treatment programs and as a result thsi station has become the place where the people who attend these programs congrugate. As a result, you can not walk through the station with out seeing at least one person in a zombie like trance or someone hustling various illegal products or services. Although, this station is now well lit and often has police patroling I still try to avoid it whan I can.
Hands down this has got to be the worse subway stations in NYC. Avoid this station if your can — especially tourists traveling alone.

Even though I have a car & motorcycle, I actually love taking the train. Train to me is one of the least expensive way to see the city. The train offers all kinds of free entertainment, and that’s not the performers I mean people just commuting are both weird. and funny. The 125^th street stop on these lines are great because there is constant action such as
The «loosey» guy. He is the guy trying to sell loose cigarette $ 1 each.
The «swipe“guy. He is the guy trying to swipe your fare with HIS metro card for $ 1
Then there’s «Johnny Hey Mon» He got that chronic 420 all day various prices.
Strange that an officer is always stationed at this train stop but the circle of life don’t miss a beat.

As I live up in the area known as Yorkville/​El Barrio I have taken the 4−5−6 up here many times to this part of Harlem to do some shopping in the afternoon or to just walk around the hood taking it all in.
You can also catch a transfer to the M60 bus to LaGuardia here.
The station is not all that shabby considering three lines run through it and all the foot traffic it gets. Sometimes really late at night after midnight you see some shady characters shuffling aroung the platforms but I guess that is true along most of the subway lines in NYC!
