This place is okay. I’ve never been here for the coffee, only at night when local bands play some shows. They seem to have a pretty indifferent staff, who is kind of just hanging with friends while working. It doesn’t seem all that clean either. They have some cookies and pastries lying around, but no food menu. They also don’t serve liquor. Only beer(which they were out of nearly everything the last time I asked, and there is no listing or mention of that) and soju. All their soju drinks were expensive and not mixed well. There are just many other bars in the area doing a better job. I’m not going to say don’t go here, because I’ll be back since it’s a cool venue for shows and has really cool art displayed, but there is no need to go out of your way to come here.

A best kept secret. Perfect for a study session. Not too crowded. Not too noisy. Glad I stumbled upon it.

This place is a disgrace of a business. I would never host a party/event or support Muchmores as they don’t seem to care about the actual people who live in the neighborhood. They were supposed to be open at 10am since they are a coffee shop. However, they were still closed at 11am when my son’s birthday party was supposed to start. I had been in contact with the booker/owner of Muchmores for weeks planning our party. And when we showed up to set up for the event, the bar/café was still closed. I would think twice about hosting an event/birthday party here as they might not be open and the communication is spotty. I still have not heard back from anyone at the space about what happened and no apology for ruining a local child’s birthday party.

Love this café/bar/venue. Tucked away on a quiet corner in Williamsburg, only a couple blocks from Bedford Ave station(L) and Metropolitan Ave(G), it’s got the unique quality of being both accessible and intimate. Good company with outdoor seating and live music on weekends makes it a great«local» addition to the neighborhood as the big buildings get put up in the surrounding area. The soju cocktails are really nice, as is the Nola cold brew coffee — they have something for everyone. Also check out the long table and bar, both made from a massive oak tree downed by Hurricane Sandy. Having a quiet place like this only 20 minutes away from the bustling Union Square is a necessary respite for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the city. I’ll definitely be back!

Went here with two of my good friends and i have to say, that the customer service over here is what it should be like in every bar across manhattan. Very attentive and great conversationalists. Drink prices are awesome and ambiance is extremely chill and laid back. I would recommend this hangout for anyone. Try the screwdriver soju. TASTY! Also love the BIGREDSECTIONALINTHEFRONTOFTHEBAR… EXTREMELYCOMFORTABLE.

Fantastic local café/bar! In the evening there’s often live music, not always that fantastic — but it’s always cozy anyway :) There’s a laundromat in the back aswell.

I am so in love with Muchmores. Everytime I come, I am welcomed so kindly– Jess even remembers my name and is always happy to make conversation during slow hours. The bands and variety are wonderful as well. I love to come and listen to that and also the interesting stories that the bar tender Matt tells. The Muchmores family is as welcoming as my own and provides great wine selection– what more could you really ask for?

Coolest little DIY spot in the burg. Chill shows happening every night of the week. Jess and Matt are super nice and always fun to talk to while hanging out.

Came here to see a show play and realized they weren’t playing. Ordered a drink but then cancelled it before the bartender made the drink, but the bartender told me I couldn’t cancel it and then proceeded to tell me to get the fuck out. Trust me that this asshole will never get my business again, and probably doesn’t care but I’m warning other prospective patrons if they want to be respected as customers, they should take their business elsewhere.

Great place; Came in to see some live bands performing. As soon as you enter, you see a room with tables where you can order food, drinks or just talk. Room on the right behind the curtain is where you will find performances. The whole place could be confused for a college dorm and it seems like the place is ran by college kids as well, but that’s fine with me. Food and drinks are OK and will cost you $ 6 for one of three sandwiches they got on the menu. I’m not a drinker, so I can’t comment on booze, but I didn’t see anyone mind what seemed to be generic beer. If you want a chillaxing place that is not all up in your face, this is actually a pretty decent place to check out.

What a crusty dusty moth-ridden hangout. May be acceptable as a café(?) but don’t waste your time coming here at night for live performances. The comedy show they hosted was pretty pathetic.

It wasn’t bad but there wasn’t anything extraordinary either. Hard to give high rating as there ae just too many options in Williamsburg.

Stumbled upon this place walking from Bedford Ave to Fool’s Gold. Vegan goodies, coffee/espresso drinks, great art and also a venue. This place is a fun place to find while in Brooklyn!

This place is pretty much all of your favorite things in one place. It’s so good I’m hating myself for writing this because what if it gets crowded or worse, pandering, but I don’t want them to not being able to make rent and close like everything else in this neighborhood and oh god what have I done. …coffee’s great, beer selection is pretty top-notch and the cool lady who works here, Jessie, is playing a playlist of Radiohead/Beatles. Two thumbs up.

One of the best kept secrets in Williamsburg. Great variety of music(indie, rap/hip hop, rock, punk) plus comedy shows, typically for free!(depending on the day) Staff is wonderful and friendly. they will make you a cappuccino at 11pm no problem. It’s also a great café during the day.

Cute place to sit on a quiet night. They have board games and long couch. On certain nights, they also have live bands, if that’s what you’re looking for. Depending on the time of the week you go, it can be a relaxing café for a date, or it can be a lively rock band venue for a group. Either case, they have beer and liquor and caffeine!

Great little spot. Gorgeous wooden bar, fantastic independent beer selection(we had a tasty refreshing blood orange beer) and apparently there’s a laundry out the back. Guys were playing poker when we got there and we were invited to join in, which was nice. Haven’t seen live music there yet but will go back. Petite, cool, different and thankfully nothing like the Bedford Ave strip.

Muchmore’s was an Interesting experience this afternoon. While waiting to get my haircut down the road at Manetamed, I stopped in real quick to get some chilled coffee. I sat at the bar to order and after a few minutes of sitting at the bar with only a few people I was acknowledged. The bartender brought over two iced coffee’s for the couple next to me. In the midst of 3 or 4 flies swarming around the bar, the man next to me informed her that he actually only needed one. Quite serendipitously that was what I was going to order. From there I told the bartender, «i’ll take that.» She never said a word as I paid for the drink. I received my change, tipped her… and that was it. No words exchanged. That was it. Ta-da!

If I lived in this area this would be my hang out spot. They’ve only recently started opening at noon to cultivate a coffee culture for those roaming the streets during the day. In case you are wondering what this place looks like look for the mural of squirrels on the side of the building done by world renown street artist ROA(he is from Belgium and hangs out here when he’s in town). After dark this place turns into a music venue with a range of shows from rock to hip hop. They also do spoken poetry, stand up comedy, improv and visual art. The barista/bar tender even told me about a weekly event they’ve been doing called Drink N Draw where models come in for bar patrons to figure draw(cover applies). Muchmore’s encourages you to hang out for a while so they have free wifi and an adjoining room that is a laundry mat so you can get your clothes washed and dried while hanging out and enjoying the local NY beers on tap. My favorite spot in Williamsburg.
