Our office is conveniently located on 300 E. 40 Street and is accessible via all major roads. We are proud of our office, which fully utilizes state of the art equipment. We have a modern sterilization system that surpasses OSHA requirements. The source of water for our dental units is distilled water (bottled water), which removes any chance of contamination from regular tap water like that used in most dental offices.

I found Dr. Michael Katayev through ZocDoc and chose him because of his available time. I must say, I could not have been happier with my experience.
Upon walking in, the office itself is beautiful, clean and very well lit. It wasn’t intensely, brightly lit but soft to the eyes. I checked in and sat for about 8 minutes in there spacious waiting room.
After coming into the back, I sat right down and immediate was prepared for X-​Rays as I was a new patient. I must add in that in each room there are tv’s with running cable; it was a nice touch. After the XRays taken by the Tech, Dr. Kateyev walked in and explained exactly what I was looking at on the TV turned computer monitor by the simple press of a «source» button.
Once he answered my questions on the XRays we went right into the original check of my teeth. As he navigated my teeth he narrated what he was seeing and provided me with what to expect in the upcoming cleaning.
He started cleaning and prepared me for any areas that may sensitive. As he was cleaning his Tech was right him making sure my mouth stayed dry so he would work. Once he was done, he provided a «blast» polish which took off some of my coffee stains. It was the first time, I have had this and he explained it like a «mini hurricane in your mouth»; he couldn’t of been more right. After he polished my teeth we were done and he provided me some recommendations for better maintenance.
I left the office with a 6 month check up and truly pleased with my experience. I think in total my entire visit was under 45 minutes. He and his office staff provided me such a great experience that I volunteered to write my first Unilocal review for his practice. I will most definitely be back and will be bringing my friends.

Just visited Dr. Katayev for the first time and I left extremely impressed.
I have struggled to find a good dentist for a while and I think i hit the jackpot with this one.
Extremely professional, actually LISTENS to concerns without making you feel a bit rushed, addresses them with full knowledge, and ensures your full understanding of the situation. I got the BEST cleaning I have had so far. The office/​work area is clean and their tools are up to date. The staff gets 5 stars for their wonderful service as well.
Not only will i be returning, but I will be making appointments for my entire family as well.

Having recently moved to Manhattan, I was in need of a primary care physician and dentist/​hygienist to avoid extra trips out to LI for checkups and well visits.
After checking out some local offices for my next teeth cleaning, I came across Murray Hill Dental, headed by Dr. Katayev. I called prior to discuss procedures and pricing and subsequently made an appointment, as I was very pleased with his detailed responses and patience over the phone.
Walking in, they say you can only make one first impression, and this one was certainly a good one. The receptionist and waiting area were both immaculate and staff were exceptional in setting me up with new patient forms and other requisite information. They have a mini-​fridge with bottled waters and juices, a TV, and plenty of literature to keep you busy, although less than a minute after I filled out my forms, I was whisked into the exam room.
Once seated, I met the Dr. took a set of X-​rays, and he gave me a «tooth-​by-​tooth» synopsis, detailing areas of concern, and asking me questions along the way to gain a better understanding of my lifestyle and relevant history. As a fellow gadget/​tech nerd, it was cool to see the X-​rays displayed up on the screen in real-​time, and it was evident Dr. Katayev was fluent with all the office/​tech gadgets, adjusting contrast, and zooming in as needed.
The teeth cleaning was preceded by a numbing agent he smeared along my gums before breaking out the entourage of tools (scalers, Prophy Jet & polishing brush). Usually the most agonizing part of my dental visits, this experience was quite pleasant — he was cognizant of sensitive areas but I still left feeling thoroughly clean.
Overall, I have to commend Dr. Katayev not only on his professionalism and patience, but on his obvious ambition to keep up-​to-​date on the latest and most effective products and technologies. In numerous contexts, he referenced different equipment he’s tried, only to be replaced by something newer and more effective, or simply because it didn’t live up to his high expectations. Having opened up shop here only a few months ago, you can see the space was gut-​renovated and outfitted with brand new equipment, furniture, cabinetry, moldings, lighting, and paint.
I definitely plan to return for another regularly-​scheduled «well visit» and highly recommend Dr. Katayev /​Murray Hill Dental to anyone seeking exceptional care in the area.
