My Publisher

For the past five years, I have been using Mypublisher. Starting 2013 – 2015, I noticed that the fonts I was using did not appear to what was being printed. The first few years, I thought it was my error but when a whole paragraph didn’t turn out with the font I wanted I knew there was a problem. It would show up for some words and create a weird spaced out font for other words. I sent an email to MyPublisher only to have an email sent back to me saying «problem solved» and to call to report my problem. Is that not the point of an email? When I did call, the woman who answered was extremely rude and said it was not a font that they carried. If it’s not a font you carry, how can it show up for some words and not others? I also HATE using the software because sometimes it freezes on you and I lose all my work. They gave me a replacement code for this years book, but for 2013 and 2014 they said its too far back to give me a replacement. Really… it’s the same error– THEIR ERROR, and I have to suffer from the consequences. Where is the customer service? After being a 5 year customer, I am disgusted with being told it was my fault and I will for sure be taking my business elsewhere. There are hundreds of photobook companies out there they are competing with. You’d think they’d want to keep their customers. Good bye My Publisher. I will never be buying another book from you again!

I had used MyPublisher before with good results, however tried them again recently and it was a disaster. After spending time designing a book with their proprietary software for a Christmas present, I was dismayed to find that the software would not let me purchase it. I got an error message – We are experiencing technical difficulties. Customer service was a frustrating joke, no one was able to help and kept putting me off by saying someone else would get in touch with me. Finally tech support seemed to have an answer but no one ever followed through. The short version: I never got the book. I ended up going to another company that was fast and easy. Save your time and money and steer clear of this website!

I’m a photographer catering to mid-​tier customers photographing mostly weddings. I’ve used MyPublisher for the past 4 years or so. I’ve always received prompt and courteous customer service until my most recent experience with them this month. I have a client that needed her books in by Christmas. I’d submitted the albums, proofed it multiple times, but when the physical copy came in, the title text had shifted about 3 inches to the left when it printed. I double checked my project on my computer, and it confirmed the title was where it needed to be. There is some sort of issue with the software that skews the text upon upload. I called their customer service to report on December 10^th. They said this was a known issue, but they couldn’t file a ticket until I moved my files to another computer, installed the software and uploaded via another computer. I spent about half of my day doing this only to find that the title skewing on upload was even worse on the new computer. I called them to give them an update (mind you, wait times are rarely under 20 minutes to reach a customer service rep). They said they filed a ticket and since it’s a known problem, I should receive contact within a day or two at the most. I did not get a call back in a day or two. Three days after my initial call, I called their customer service again to ask the status of the ticket. She said she needed to follow up with someone else, and that she’d call or email back. Needless to say, no call or email follow up. I notified my client that there wasn’t a way to get her the album in time for the Holidays, which was a huge disappointment since this was to be a Christmas gift. After I get home from Christmas travels, I call MyPublisher again to check the status of the problem ticket. Once someone picks up, puts me on hold, then hangs up. The second time, I speak with Jasmine who picks up, I tell her the issue, and she puts me on hold to look up the ticket, then hangs up on me. The third time I call, I speak with «Mary», who then tells me my ticket has been closed. She requests that I send in photos of the books I’m having issues with. I’d already submitted one photo of the book, the other book I was having issues with was sent directly to the client, but you can obviously view on the «Projects» page that the title had been skewed. Mary then tells me that she can’t open up the ticket until I send her photos of the two albums in question. I ask to speak to a customer service manager, but she says that she can put my issue in «escalation» but it will take 2 – 3 business days to receive a call back. But from reading other reviews here, I doubt I’ll get any call back from a customer service manager. This has been the WORST customer service experience of my entire life. I have an album that I’ve created for a client, but I believe I’ll just build it elsewhere to save myself any further frustration. I’ll NEVER use them for any services again.

I purchased 4 groupons — 3 of them were for 20 page photo books ($ 10 each) and the last one was a 30 page ($ 15).
Some pros were that the my publisher software was downloadable and very easy to use on my Mac. The groupon also included an upgrade to better paper, included in the voucher price.
There were some big cons though. I had to pay $ 11 – 14 shipping fees for every single book. I don’t see why they can’t combine the order.
Another big con was that they almost didn’t come in time for Christmas. I ordered them on December 8^th and got one on the 21^st, two on the 22^nd, and the last on the 24^th. It was a really close call.
I do love the books. The cover and front photo looks a bit messy, but the inside photo paper is very nice. Some of the photos ended up being blurrier than I would have liked — I am not sure why this happened considering other photos of the same quality did not end up like this.
Overall though, I am happy with my order and I think that they were definitely worth the price considering how much other photo books cost.

I had a horrible experience with this company’s customer service and was prepared to trash them on Unilocal.Then on a Saturday morning I got a personal call from Thomas, one of their obviously more enlightened customer service reps. He sent me a coupon to replace the problematic book I had received at no charge. He apologized for the grief I had gone through with them. My new book arrived yesterday and is exactly what I wanted. I’m giving them another chance as I really like the finished product.

I have never taken the time to write a negative review for a company, but the level of customer service from MyPublisher is appalling. I have attempted to contact them through e-​mail, telephone, and their live chat. Not only did I have a ridiculously hard time creating my photobook, but once I did submit it, the finished project had all sorts of errors that were not visible in my submission. The centered text was all left-​justified, and some photos even disappeared completely. I called their customer service line, to be placed on hold for 30 minutes, and engaged by a very despondent third-​party call center representative. She told me that they would have to cancel my order entirely, and that I would have to load my project onto a thumb drive, upload it on to another computer, make edits, and resubmit it. My initial order was supposed to arrive before Christmas. With this cancellation and the shipping delays due to holiday closures, I am STILL waiting for my order.
The customer service representative assured me that I would have a call back from a supervisor within 72 hours (which is a considerable window to address a dissatisfied customer inquiry), and NEVER got a call back. I have sent various emails since this, with again, no return on communication. I would never recommend this company to anyone who likes to receive a product for their money. Your business is only a good as your customer service, so as far as I am concerned, this company does not exist. The value for my order is $ 89.00, plus tax and shipping. All I asked was that the company cover the costs of shipping, and that they overnight it to me since it was intended to be a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I have been tracking my order through FedEx, but it still only shows that a label has been created, and that the photobook has not even left their facility. Maybe it can be a nice present for Fourth of July.

I recently used My Publisher to print a photo book from our vacation to Europe. What a nightmare using the program. Moving photos from one page to another created a mess of other pictures begin deleted from other pages. Also software problems that others Unilocalers mentioned still exist.
After working many countless hours on the book I placed my order and was offered an $ 10.00 discount on the lay flat page option. When I went to checkout the $ 10.00 discount would not apply. After several attempts to contact the company though email chat before placing my order and personally phoning them, no one was able to see the problem or made an attempt to try to fix the situation. Very poor customer service!
Never the less, I had worked many hours on the book and wanted the album, so I placed the order thinking I will take care of the credit once I receive the album. After placing the order I was given a message saying I would be informed of the process of the printing of my album. Never received a email regarding the status and like others that have used this company my album took 2 – 3 weeks to get.
The album finally arrived and was DAMAGED! My Publisher does not know how to package properly the albums that they produce. My album was 48 pages. It was literally place inside a thin cellophane sleeve and stuck in a box fitting rather snug. They placed brown shipping paper on top of the album and shut and shipped the box. The corners were left unprotected! When placed in the snug box and unprotected and the box is tossed around through shipping you can imagine what the corners looked like.
Since receiving the album I have emailed them pictures of the damage and made 2 attempt phone calls to report the damage. One customer service person said she could not help and the other said she would give my information to the manager and that someone would call me. It has been 12 days and I have yet to hear from anyone from My Publisher. Again horrible customer service!
I will never use or recommend this company again. When you spend as many hours I as did to create the picture album from a special event, it is very disappointing to receive your product damaged after spending $ 150.00 and the company doesn’t even care.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON“T USE THIS COMPANY!

AVOID!!! oh my oh my i can’t even express my frustration in words, but here goes. Mypublisher is a piece of JUNK!!! i received a groupon to make a book so i did for my dad’s birthday, and it has takjen THREE WEEKS TO SHIP!!! so far… even though it was supposed to originally take a week. i am very good with computers and it was SOOOO hard to make it, it took me 7 hours for 20 pages. when i finally got it downloaded, mypublisher crashed a total of 16 times while i was making the book so i literally had to save every 10 seconds. also, their backgrounds were very bad and didn’t let you customize them, which is what i wanted to do. it kept showing a red outline that said the pic is too big, but the size they wanted it to be was miniscule. rediculous! all i need to say is when it FINALLY does arrive, it better look AMAZING or else i am going to demand a refund, which will probably take another month to ship. ugh, soooooooooooo frustrating. AVOID.

I have used My Publisher a lot in the past but today my Groupon bought me a photo book for $ 10 with My Publisher and the shipping lowest shipping option was $ 10.99-more than the cost of my discounted book! I only mailed it to Florida-​I think this is a ridiculously high price to pay for shipping when Amazon usually charges about $ 6 max. Then there was almost $ 2 added tax after that. So you don’t know about this charge up front-​but after you buy the Groupon and make the whole book (and I had spent hours) it comes up before you can check out.
The photo books are nice but I’m sure there are some better options out there~

I purchased several coupons off of
for my publisher, and I wish I hadn’t! The books are very basic, and they really don’t have a lot of options if you want more of a scrapbook feel to your photo book. They are limited on the page backgrounds and decals you can use.
They also get you by up charging a lot for everything. So even though my groupon voucher was for a $ 10.00 book, if you wanted to have a picture cover it was an extra $ 10.00, if you wanted high quality paper it was an extra fee as well. I am fine with paying extra, but other photo book websites are a lot cheaper over all.
You also cannot order multiple books at once so you have to pay shipping on each individual book. For me being a photographer wanting to try them out from a business stand point this doesn’t work. I ordered 5 books from them at once and had to pay shipping of 10 – 15 dollars per book.
One of my books also got lost, and I’m sure this was FedEx fault, but when I called My Publisher they weren’t very helpful at first on getting the book replaced. I had to talk to several people before they agreed to refund the shipping as well as send out another book. I needed these books for a client by a certain day, and needless to say the books did not arrive by that time.
I will use the rest of the groupon vouchers that I purchased and probably look elsewhere at another photo book company.

I was once a happy customer but something has gone down the drain since they were taken over. Their customer service has gone from great to the world’s worst.
NO NOT USE THEM I’d suggest Costco or Walmart.

LOVE MY PHOTO BOOK! I love that I completely customized each page using their software. I use a MAC so it was very easy to grab the photos from iPhoto.
I opted to take advantage of receiving an additional photo book for only $ 10 and am so glad I did. I gave the extra book to my Mom and she loves it also! Plus we received our lovely family photo books within 2 weeks of ordering them.
Thank you My Publisher!!! I will definitely use your services again!

My Publisher deserves less than 1 star. I purchased several coupons from LivingSocial for me and my friends. First the coupon code wouldn’t work. After calling customer service several times to no avail, my friend ended up paying for out of pocket instead of using the coupon. Then the book never arrived!!!
Same thing happen to my other friend. She was able to get the coupon code to work, but the book never arrived!!! DO NOT USE MY PUBLISHER!!!

This is the worst customer service that I have ever encountered in my life. For a legitimate business, their customer service is beyond atrocious. I purchased an offer via RueLaLa for a photobook. During the purchase process, the program stalled and voided out the purchase. When I tried to re-​enter the order, the offer code no longer worked. I was sent a replacement code that also did not work. I emailed and called repeatedly for a replacement code before the offer expiration date (mid-​January), to which I did not receive one.
After that, I was told that since the offer was no longer valid, I should go ahead and place the order for the book, and that the cost of the book would be refunded to me. That was 2 months ago. I have since been calling on a weekly basis and each time I’m advised that the issue has been re-​escalated and that I would have to wait for a response. A response was promised within 48 hours every time. And I have never received any callback or email reply. I call on a 1 – 1.5 week basis now. For the 6^th time now, I’ve been told that they have to escalate the issue, that there is no other way to resolve the issue. I have said that if I do not receive a resolution by early next week (officially 2.5 months since the issue was created), I will file a claim with my credit card company.
The customer service representatives themselves are courteous and friendly however the issue resolution process is unforgivable.

I’m writing on this the US webpage because even though one would think My Publisher UK is in the UK it isn’t. Just a heads up for anyone ordering internationally. Even though it says it will be there in 3 – 5 days during check out, it won’t. Even though you pay in Sterling it is not in the UK. This is NOT an EU company and you WILL get charged VAT. Don’t try talking to anyone about it either because they are not the most understanding. They seem to think that having a website called My Publisher UK does not imply that it is in the UK. That just doesn’t sound like an honest business practice to me. I will not be using them again!
