Before I walked into this nail salon, I knew exactly what I wanted. I had a picture with the exact color and design.
Anyways, as soon as I walked into this nail salon, a lady asked me what I wanted to get done, and I said that I wanted to get a manicure. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and explained it to her… She sent me to get the colors on the nail rack, and did not assist me in finding the colors. In every other salon that I have ever been to, someone helps me find exactly what I look for… but okay. So, I found the color and I asked her that if she adds the matte on top, it would match the picture, and without looking, she responded, «Yes!»
Okay, so my natural nails are almond shaped. So the woman who was assigned to me was cleaning my nails, and filing them a little… she got a regular clear polish to put on top and I reminded her that it was matte. So after cleaning it, she tells me that they don’t have matte. I asked her what she meant, that I said I wanted a regular manicure with the colors I chose, with a matte top, so that it would be a flat color. Then, she tries to convince me to get a gel manicure… mhmm, no… I change my nail color too often to get a gel color. Then I said, to stop doing my nails, that why are my nails being done if they are not able to do what I want? So she, then, changed the story and said that they do have matte, but that I will have to pay extra… like whattt?! Lmao, I have money! I didn’t come here to get anything free. Don’t let my young face fool you!
Okay, so the manager steps out, and one of the girls was hiding the matte. She was upset that the manager said there was matte and was going on in Spanish talking nonsense. HOLA, YO HABLO ESPANOL, ODIOSA! Another lady who works there told her that they already charged me extra… it was disgusting how corny they were acting over a nail polish.
Mhmmm, only giving it two stars because the lady who was actually doing my nails was gentle, and because my nails came out nice. If it were not because of her, I would have given this nail salon ONE STAR.

It gets busy but it’s worth the wait.
For gel manicure I go with Jatna, She’s amazing. Gel pedicures are awesome as well.
I recently just got tips with another female there but I forgot her name but they’re all really good. Oh and the prices are reasonable!

Probably my best gel manicure ever! Only $ 22! I had a cut on the side of one of my nails and the manicurist was very careful. The only reason this is not a 5 is because she was a little aggressive on my other fingers.

This place is awesome, came upon it by accident. Pretty clean, and gets busy fast too.

I just had the worst experience in a nail salon. After arriving here at 6:30pm and getting a pedicure I waited almost 2 hours to get a manicure before I had to storm out. They charged me $ 25.00 for pedicure. Also their gel nail colors and regular colors DO NOT match. They just guess similar colors.

I have been a customer at this nail shop since the first day of business. I have even brought friends in to gift them pedicures. At first it was great — but the busier it got it seemed the management couldn’t adjust. Last weekend I sat for 1 hour and 15 minutes after being told 30 minutes. Why did I wait? I had an event and I suck at painting my toenails. As I sat there I kept trying to think of other shoes I had but it was hot and sandals it was going to be. You know that fun energy of a salon where people are smiling and talking. Not happening. Tense energy no smiles. the manicurists seemed stressed. The customers quite. The owner Hannah then yelled at me to go to the back. The manicurist came up to me grabbed my bag and said sit down. She was rushed so she kept hurting me while doing the manicure. Manhandled — big time. I said ouch trying to get her attention and correct the situation. She just shrugged and continued. I said «this is supposed to be a relaxing fun experience», smiling the whole time trying break the ice and protect my toes. Still no response. I could not wait to get out of there. She then rushed the paint job — so I had to take it off the next day. This was the last time I will ever go there and it is the only time in my life I haven’t tipped.

Horrible customer service! I’ve been here about 10x. I got a mani/​pedi in white the next day it was all chipped. The owner told me they have no warranty on their polish and I would have to pay again to have them paint my nails. I am out right disappointed to see how unprofessional this place has become. Save your time and money and go to the place next to Citibank they are CLEAN and polite. You walk out feeling relaxed not having to worry about doing them again. it’s sad to see business take your money for a service not rendered!! gave a star bc I had too! Cheap watered down polish!!!

Beware: As another reviewer mentioned, I also got athletes foot after getting a pedicure here. Besides that they barely scrub your foot, and my manicure only lasted a few days. Certainly not worth it.

Ok, seriously bummed to have to redo this review but over the past few months service has really changed. The last few times I’ve been in I feel very rushed and very uncomfortable being there. It feels like all they want to do is gel or acrylic and if you don’t get that you don’t really matter as a customer. Easy on the hard upsell folks — I don’t want gel. I didn’t ask for gel. And not that I need to explain my purchases to you but gel basically destroys my fingernails to the point of them peeling up my fingers and breaking so close to the cuticle they hurt for days. Also — not sure why Danny (the husband of the manager) is ALWAYS there. It’s creepy. You’re not helping. The only thing of notice he did while I was there was basically stop my girl in the middle of a manicure to order his lunch. He made a half joke, half snide comment about how no place in the neighborhood will serve him quickly. Gee — I wonder why. They overcrowd the place, it doesn’t feel clean — it used to feel spotless and lovely but it’s quickly become worn. And I too have seen the problem of Danny and Hannah not letting staff take breaks for meals. But worse than that (hey — we’ve all had to hold out on our hunger when it’s busy) — is that they make a point to a) feed themselves (see the ordering lunch comment above) and b) ridicule the girls that work for them publicly. Overall, the place just feels ghetto now. I’ll stick with Inwood Nails across the street.

This is a small nail spot but they get the job done I did a gel mani an a regular pedi and I couldn’t be happier and the price was right $ 44, it was well worth the trip I will return my nails look good

I loved the service I received! Mariana is officially my girl! :) she is soo sweet and so detailed will be returning in 2 weeks.

I wanted to try again before reviewing; it was even worse. My pedicure came out great. 3 days later, the polish and skin around my toes looks great. I can also say the same for the color of my fingers. However, the cuticles around my fingers were butchered. Not bloody, but I have little bits of loose skin everywhere; some of it peeling up to a cm back from my cuticle. They also changed there minimum cc purchase to $ 25, so you’ll need cash if getting a basic mani/​pedi mon-​wed or they’ll have to charge you the normal price, so you can use a card. I was less worried about that and more so about the more manicuring of my cuticles. From what I gather, this place used to be better, but the service I received speaks otherwise.

Here’s the deal ladies, like any good skilled nail salon if you go weekends, holidays ect. IT WILL BE PACKED. I was willing to wait for one specific person the day that I went, and it was worth it! They will let you know of the wait time ahead of time and keep in mind it’s an ESTIMATED wait time, so yes it may be longer (we are only human). Loveeeeeeeee my nails, this will be my new go to. Environment is clean and Hannah is the biggest sweetheart. They value their clientele I believe. Keep doing your thing nail haven, you definitely don’t disappoint me!

BOYCOTT THIS PLACE. This was my go to nail place until TODAY. I have never been so horrified by the customer service and lack of professionalism I witnessed. First thing is first I’ve noticed on various occasions that Danny & Hannah lie about the wait time. They will say 30 – 45 mins when it really means 2+hrs. Considering that it was Friday and also a holiday they were jam packed. As I waited various ladies complained about the flow and order that they were being attended too. Many had people skip them or were waiting for their desired technician and no one had a grip on the situation. Around 4:30pm one of the techs stepped away after finishing with her client to have a bite to eat. I overheard Danny say «She can’t eat there’s people waiting.» As the employee pleaded for a break after working over 6 hours without a break she went anyway to try to eat something. Hannah then told Danny to send her home. WHILE MORE THAN 7 PEOPLE WAITED TO BE SEATED. I then notice the tech packing up her station. They had let her go for stepping away to have something to eat. We all were horrified considering she is a great nail tech and has loyal clientele.
Hannah’s attitude is and was atrocious. As an owner/​manager you have the duty to look after your employees and not over work them. At this point (5 pm) None of the techs had stepped away for a meal break. And quite frankly they looked scared to ask.
Hannah doesn’t want to turn away customers which is a good thing but it’s a problem when you’re overworking a short staff.
When clients would ask her about the wait or why they were skipped she would get a snappy attitude and yell «I told you there was a wait». «It’s not my fault the technicians are running slow». After various arguments with clients one of her loyal clients argued with Hannah over the quality of the work. The paint jobs were being rushed which caused a lot of the ladies to ask for a re do.
It was the most uncomfortable/​disgraceful experience ever. I will never contribute to a business that not only throws their own employees under the bus but won’t even give them 5 – 10 mins to eat.

Hannah is amazing. Great service and and amazing job on my nails I will be going back next week to do a pedicure as well. I did have to wait incredibly long but it was well worth it ! I’ll be a regular for sure. Oh and last but not least the price was more than reasonable

I am not high maintenance when it comes to getting my nails done. All I ask for is space and cleanliness. After that, they’re all pretty much the same for me.
One of my best girlfriends frequents Nail Haven and recommend it for a full set of acrylics with gel for my birthday (Jan 7). We came first thing in the morning. It was quiet (of course) and there were lots of people around to help customers. I was able to enjoy the process while chatting it up with my friend and the owner, Hannah. Afterward, the price was what I expected. My only qualm is that they charge for EVERY. LITTLE. THING. It’s $ 5 extra to file nails into an almond shape. Then it’s $ 5 more to cut cuticles. I’ve been to salons without those extras, so it was annoying but the service was great so I couldn’t complain.
I returned to get a fill two days ago. I went at 6:30pm. The place was pretty busy, but still organized. I waited for maybe 5 minutes which was much less than I expected! This employee was thorough and exact. And best of all, not too chatty. At the end of my day, I just want the service and relaxation – and she gave me just that! It took about 45 minutes and the place was even busier when I left, but SO worth it. They do payment through an iPad and you are expected to tip through the program, so I don’t have to bring cash and no one makes me feel bad for NOT having it. Receipts can be emailed which is SO convenient for me.
Definitely will return to Nail Haven –would love a pedicure or eyelash service! Would also recommend going earlier in your day, shortly after they open, if you don’t like crowds.

I tried this place again, hoping it would have improved. Nope. Worse. My nails were filed unevenly again. The polish is obviously not restocked because it was gloopy. They make you get up and wash your hands after filing your nails instead of having a hot towel to clean them. And grossest of all, the technicians own nails were a mess, a very outgrown gel polish with jagged ends, which she used to dig around and under my nails when she got polish on the skin. I’m never coming back here.

I don’t know why I keep on forgetting to review this place and but it is definitely a well kept secret in Inwood! I love this nail salon and trust me I’ve had my fair share of experiences of nail salons in New York. This is the only one that reminds me of the thorough nail salons back in California.
Hannah is the owner and she’s always welcoming and is very attentive to her clients. And her polish selection is amazing.
I usually get a deluxe pedi and gel mani. Her gel manis do last without chipping and I’m super rough on my nails. The pedicures with Carmen are on point also.
A typical visit will usually run me 60 dollars which is with a tip.
Now a few pointers: it gets BUSY. Meaning like you better pick and choose your battle if you’re coming in during peak hours. I’ve seen people get upset about waiting but come on. any nail salon that has you waiting is worth the wait.
Everyone is quick and attentive and it’s worth the money. I’ve been religiously going here for almost a year. Sometimes I try to wander off into another nail salon but then regret it very quickly. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in inwood.
