Don’t do it to yourself if you fear the dentist. I should have known from my initial visit this was not the place for me. I arrived for my appt & the receptionist proceeded to tell me I didn’t have one but they could try & squeeze me in. When I met with dentist I informed of my anxiety & the reason why I left my last dentist. I was charged $ 50 upfront for a root canal & after the dentist started it was told it needed to be extracted & I would have to go somewhere else. Today was my last visit I had my temp fillings changed to permanent. I could not believe it when the dentist due to having to stop because of my anxiety stated in a nasty tone I have other patients & walked out the room. I understood that my procedure took entirely to long but yet & still I was a patient who clearly stated on my first initial visit i suffer from anxiety. Then the craziest thing happened after my fillings were finally done the dentist tells me, «I know a place you can go to that sedates patients for there dental procedures, this would probably be better for you rather then go through this torture.» Is it me but why not tell me this 9 months ago when I first came there. I am very disappointed in this dentist knowing that they could have referred me there 3 fillings &1 tooth extraction earlier.

Just had my first appointment with Dr Auerbach, and I can’t say enough about how pleased I am. :) Like Elissa S. below, I also have the UFT Welfare Fund. Her review prompted my decision. I am a very anxious dental patient… the staff were incredibly kind and gentle. Dr. Auerbach really put me at ease. Turns out I had a few cavities, and I was able to get them filled right away in the same appointment! Dr. Yulia did my fillings, she was also very gentle and good about filling me in on everything she was doing. I left with a great goody bag that includes a beautiful new electric toothbrush! All this and completely covered by the UFT Welfare Fund. Highly recommended!

Do you need a dentist? Are you a teacher? This is the best dentist to go to if you’re an NYCDOE teacher and it’s not horribly difficult for you to get to Spanish Harlem. I’ve sent all my teacher friends to Dr. Auerbach. His office is clean, big, and well-staffed. The equipment is the most technologically advanced that I’ve ever seen. Also(and this is key), it’s soooooo easy to use your UFT dental coverage here! All you need is your social security number and your file number. You won’t have to pay a dime out of pocket, even if you have 12 cavities in your mouth. I also love the goody bags that they always send me away with. Electric toothbrush? Awesome!
