excellent food, specially Beef Stew wonton noodle soup. I had this meal almost every week when I visited NYC.

Went there for the first time, the service was fast, the food was tasty, the only bad thing was that we ended up smelling like food because they have an open kitchen very close to the tables. Our waiter was fun and friendly, but minutes later another waiter messed up the next table order 3 times. Good prices and plenty of food.

Best wonton noodles in Chinatown! My mom is from Hong Kong so I grew up on her stories of Hong Kong noodle street vendors and late night drives from Brooklyn into Chinatown whenever she had an insatiable craving for wonton noodles. They are now nostalgic memories, of little adventures with my mom. I relive those moments every time a bowl is brought before me and I take my first bite, with noodles still hanging out of my mouth, because that’s how we do. The wontons are plump, whole shrimps with ground pork. The wrappers are thin, the wontons come out slightly folded and wrinkly, trying to hold in all the filling. It has it’s iconic scrunched up seal, not like a neatly crimped dumpling. The noodles are cooked to it’s perfect al dente springy texture, accompanied by a bit of a bite and chew. You use your front teeth to cut it off. This isn’t fancy pasta, you don’t twirl your fork for a smaller than bite size amount. This is used with chopsticks in one hand and a soup spoon in the other to support the hanging noodles. Savor it but don’t wait too long or else the noodles will become soggy. Add some of the chili oil with chili flakes and fermented soy beans for another level of umami and a dash of red vinegar onto your dumpling to bring it all together. Some memories will never be recreated but eating here with my mom comes very close.

Their food tastes good! We ordered the shrimp lo mein(sharable between 2 – 3 people), general tso’s chicken and broccoli(sharable between 2 – 3 people) that comes with one bowl of rice… every extra small bowl of rice is $ 1.50, and their infamous wonton noodle soup. The shrimp lo mein was well seasoned with lots of veggies and shrimp; the ratio for each item was perfect. I highly recommend this. General Tso’s chicken and broccoli was delicious because their chicken wasn’t rolled up and fried like most take out places; there was actual white meat and it actually tasted healthy with a flavorful twist. I enjoyed this meal very much. I highly recommend this. The wonton noodle soup was great and they lived up to their name; the wontons had whole pieces of shrimp and pork mixed and seasoned really well. I highly recommend this. Note: Tips and tax are included in your bill.

New Wonton Garden NY Manhattan Chinatown 11:59 Friday 30th January 2016 Four Stars A healthy mix of Chinese and Non-Chinese, the new wonton garden was a good post-drinking meal. They understood my toddler Cantonese for Char-Siu Wonton Mein(roast pork and dumplings with noodles). The food took longer than normal. The noodles were plentiful but a bit overcooked. The dumplings were plump with tender pork and big shrimp. The soup had that classic nostalgic monosodium glutamate taste. The roast pork had a pale red and grey color. It was decent size portion with a flavor. The meal was $ 8.50 + 75 cents for tax.

Solid, economical, and filling Value: 4⁄5 Food: 4⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Décor: 2⁄5 The wonton noodle soup has good flavor, decent portion, an easy choice for those seeking HK street taste. Could use some curry fish ball as well but the noodle alone was definitely enough for lunch without having to order something else. The soup is on the salty side but nothing can’t fix with a bit of red vinegar and some white pepper. Use the spicy oil-sauce on the table(mix with more vinegar) for wonton dipping on the side. This is a grandma/grandpa local shop. Not a trendy /hipster place to bring your first date(hence the low score on décor). However it is the perfect low-key weekday lunch with colleagues and friends looking for a quick bite without breaking the bank.

One of the better Chinese restaurants I tried during my visit to New York. It tastes just like home and was the perfect brunch meal. I ordered a Cha Sui Noodle Soup along with some wontons. Everything tasted great and hit the spot. This place is located in China Town and there are many restaurants to choose from. There are also a lot of dimsum places near as well.

I love their wonton noodles, their soup is banging. I haven’t tried the other so my review is based on the noodle only. I was here on New Year’s Eve and their service is pretty bad considering there wasn’t a lot of people. Their service is a tad bit better when they are busy. maybe because they want to rush you out for the next customer.

Why I even tried this place, I have no idea. Eating in Chinatown is a huge hit or a big miss depending on where you choose to go, and this place was so far off. Honestly, we did keep it very simole, only getting dumplings at the time, two orders of dumplings, very simple, I believe we had the steamed pork dumplings and shrimp shumai. The pork dumplings came, and I have never, I mean never, had overcooked dumplings. The outside was overcooked to the texture of a steak almost, and the consistency was if overcooked broccoli. The tray they gave us had 5 dumplings, I believe fried Wonton under that were like confetti, and the smallest amount of soy sauce you can imagine. I could cry and fill a glass with more liquid than they gave us sauce for the dumplings. Now we’re waiting, wondering where the dumplings are, at this point unsure who to ask because we had only seen our waiter once. We chose a random. waiter and explained that we had been waiting for shumai, seconds later he has that ready for us. Now THIS was decent, on the least how it’s supposed to taste, but considering we had to remind them we were waiting, they lost points for it all the same. Observing other meals that had passed by, smoke dancing over piles of food that looked great, and some looked like hot garbage. Maybe this was an off night, but all the same, I don’t believe I will be returning to this establishment. Another restaurant off the list in Chinatown.

This was the original location of the staff at HK Wonton Garden down the block. I’m not sure what happened that made the staff open a different location, but the original location has since been updated with the same kitchen visible from the dining area. Since renovation, this restaurant seems much cleaner than most in Chinatown. Even the bathroom is quite clean. They still specialize in wonton noodle soup. I got the beef tendon in wonton noodle soup and it was perfect. The wontons were perfect and the beef tendons were very tender. The only real difference between the soups here and at HK Wonton Garden? New Wonton Garden doesn’t use ginger in their broth, which I like a lot.

On this visit we ordered a dimsum and 2 noodles. The usual traditional chinese tea was served first. And while waiting for our order, my 4 year older daughter is begging me to build her newly acquired lego friends… which of course I obliged. The dimsum was served a couple minutes later and it taste good. Then after, our soups were served too. On my left side I was helping my daughter building her lego while on my right side I was having my noodle. The staffs were nice(and pretty curious on what I was working on) and attentive enough on our needs. When the bill was handed over to me I noticed that the service charge is already included, so no additional tip necessary. Food is good, staffs are nice, decent serving portions and reasonable price.

Popped in for some cheap noms, came out happy and full. I ordered the wonton soup but I got so much more — a truly satisfying meal. Watch out though — the noodles come out hot!

I was hungry and craving wonton noodle soup. I always trust Chinatown to have the best of it and I wasn’t wrong. Believe me, it was hard trying to narrow it down to which establishment I wanted to go to, but after a peak through the window(packed) and seeing the A rating score at the door, I knew this was the place. Thankfully for me, I was just a solo diner so it wasn’t hard to squeeze me in. Didn’t even have to look at the menu as I already knew what I wanted. Everyone also seemed to have the right idea as at least one person at every table had an order of the wonton noodle soup. Not even kidding. They certainly have a reputation for it here! For only $ 5.25, it’s a helluva deal! I was under the assumption that it’d be higher being in New York and all. They have 3 people working the teeny kitchen at the front of the store, and man, they are mighty fast. I literally got my meal within 10 minutes! Delicioso. I finished it as quickly as I got it. Fast and tasty. In and out. My kind of place! When I’m back in New York, I’ll definitely come back for seconds!

On a night like today’s — gloomy, rainy and chilly, with dark, gray skies and barely a soul in sight, all you need is something hot and comforting to your tummy. Where else in Chinatown besides Wonton Garden would you find that? They make one of the best wonton noodle soups, with round and plump wontons filled with pork and a whole piece of shrimp! The noodles are as well cooked perfectly and soaked in a flavorful bowl of broth. I also love their beef stew and rice noodles in casserole, constituting tasty beef brisket and silky smooth rice noodles. On top of that, their service is also quick, friendly and attentive and predominantly male, but that is besides the point lol. Just make sure to drop by when you’re in the area!

My friend and I discovered this place after starving from shopping at oo35mm down the street. This place is relatively small but has many tables cramped all together. Honestly the dim sum stuff here isn’t good so trust the Unilocalers. There is actually a dim sum place down the street and dim sum is all they do. I think its on the opposite side of the street. The noodle soups and the dumplings are the best things on the menu You can see what is being made in the open kitchen. My friends and I usually get the friend and boiled dumplings. The boiled ones are a lot better. The fried ones taste too dry and seem as if the flavor has been sucked out of them. I have had a few different noodle soups that are delicious and are worth trying. One thing that I prefer to get here are the fried noodle with the peanut sauce. This thing is delicious and it isn’t as oily as some other places. I love how all of the noodles are crispy and the sauce is slathered on the top. That way you get enough on each and every noodle. All in all, it is one of the few places that I seemingly venture to almost every time I am in New York. The food here is perfect for my nonexistent diet.

Sort of a go-to place when you happen to be in Chinatown and want something easy and quick. It’s pretty shoddy in terms of cleanliness, service and décor, but that’s not what you go to Chinatown for anyway. I stick with the noodle soups and they get the job done. I’ve really been digging the roast duck and noodle soup, and the last time I was here they gave me some really great meaty pieces with plenty of fatty skin. So much yum. The open kitchen reassures me that there isn’t any funny business going on(or at least they’re really good at hiding it). The place has gotten quite a bit more popular since the last time I was here, so there may be a wait now depending on when you go. Also, one of the few places in the area that stays open late, and we all know that hot noodle soup makes really good drunk food.

My husband and I both had our go to places in this neighborhood. I went for Big wongs across the street this place was his fav. He took me here lot while we were dating and engaged mostly because after hanging out in city late on sat nights this was the only place opened late in c– town. I mentioned in my big wong review my family loved the duck over rice. I never tried it. My husband got me to taste it here, and it actually pretty good. A bit greasy at times, but that mostly from the skin, I think. We always order the same thing here. We both just know what we love. Hubby always go for their plain noodle soup. I do their duck with noodles, and course chinese veggie side dish. Waiters here are average for chinatown. Sometimes they are nice and at times the just want u to order and go. Food is always tasty and consistent. Flavor never change or gets worse. Plus, always hits the spot for us both. Its a small place, but yet still cozy. I kinda like the fact that I can see how my food is prepared too. This is one place where u can watch their every move. Anyways, my husband sold me on this place. I request to come here now. Better believe well be back agian;)

Noodle soup and wontons are an excellent combination! With a party of two we engulf two respective bowls of shrimp Wonton noodle soups $ 4.95. We both opt for Cantonese noodles. It was very yum yum! I can eat noodles any time of day. Wonton Noodle Garden is best known for their noodles and wontons since 1978 in traditional Cantonese style. Moderately small dinning area as tables are touching each other for extremely tight space when sitting down or rising from the table. I am not surprised if patrons accidentally knock down drinks by swinging hands/arms or fling over-sized winter coats when rising/sitting. Green tea is the default drink served. Their roast duck, pork, shrimp or ging1 dou1 paai4 gwat1(Jīng dū pái g) 京 都 排 骨 are all appealing delicious. Noodles and noodle soups are priced cheap(under $ 10.00), but the chef’s suggestions, rice entrees, and rice noodles in casserole requires more effort ergo moderately priced($ 9.00 above). New Wonton Garden draws local patrons as well as Lo Fan and out-of-town Lo Fans.

The Best Late night eats place in NYC. A Perfection option anytime of day but even better at night. This place stays open until 4am and beats all the other late night options available. This place stays open until 3am-4am, who dosent love good eats night especially when everything else is closed and your options are limited. I love ordering their noodle soups, they have many combination to choose from. Try the roast duck, very good and crispy, the Young chow fried rice is a must and make sure to try the Salt & Pepper Pork chops or squid depending on what you are in the mood for. I recently discovered their Mushroom and Vegetables Pan Fried Noodles which is made with many variety of Mushrooms. Their service is a bit slow and they are quick to add a 15% Gratuity to your bill, which is never earned. 5 stars because they are open late, cheap and good.
