What an extremely nice and welcoming staff! I went in for a screen replacement for my iPhone 5s. The result was great and the price was the cheapest I found in NYC. Even when my phone turned back on and it said it was disabled for 46 years, they managed to fix that!

Super friendly and efficient staff who helped me out in getting screws for my laptop that i couldn’t find anywhere else. And they put them in for me, all for free! Welcoming interior as well. Will definitely be coming back if i have a bigger problem!
Tip: Maybe it was just because i haven’t been in NY long, but it was hard to find the entrance for me. There is a very subtle glass door with a buzzer for NY Computer Help and then they are on the third floor once you get inside. There is an elevator.

Absolutely amazing. So helpful, professional and nice.
My work phone screen was not only cracked but it was effecting the screen so badly I thought I was going to have to get a new phone. They reassured me it was no problem at all where I’m sure most places would have said they could fix that also for an extra charge.
When I came in they said it was $ 85 for a screen fix for Apple iPhone 6 no extra charge and it would be 30 minutes. I chose to wait and it was barely 10 minutes before it was ready and perfectly fixed.
I will be telling everyone about this location.

Great timely service. I shattered the glass on my Nexus 6P phone and checked with the manufacturer the cost $ 163 (incl tax & shipping) but that would of taken 10 to 14 business days. I went to another repair shop that quoted $ 250 + tax, then found these guys who offered $ 175 + tax.
For the convince of getting it done same day this seemed reasonable. When I got the phone back everything was perfect and they threw in a free tempered glass screen protector. Unfortunately the screen protector disables the proximity sensor, so I’m seeing now if I can control this through an app, as the screen protector is quite nice and it’d be a shame to remove.

Wow! Great experience. Broke my phone while at work at 1:15. New to NYC, so went on Unilocal to look up a repair service. Called here based on stellar reviews: they sent someone to pick up the phone and drop it back off. Total turnaround time was 1 hour 10 minutes and I didn’t even leave my desk. All for less than I’m used to paying for a screen repair, and with a six month warranted. Only in NYC.

Great service and really, really nice staff. I bought in my laptop, and there were actually some problems when I picked it up and got home. I left a message on their voicemail at 10pm, expecting them to get back to me the next day. Instead I got a text message five minutes later telling me they’d make sure they got everything straightened out the next day. I bought the laptop back, and they did the work and replaced and additional part at no extra charge. My laptop works now and it was an excellent customer service experience.

Went in earlier today because I dropped my MacBook pro on the floor and the screen went black. The apple on the back also stopped lighting up so I started freaking out. Went on Unilocal and decided to come here.
The staff was amazing. He confirmed that my MacBook can still turn on and went to the back to see what the problem was. He came back after a few minutes and told me that a cable fell out as a result of the fall. He then fixed it up and my MacBook pro was as good as new. When I asked the guy how much it would cost, he told me that it was free. I offered to pay since he did help revive (as I’d like to call it) my MacBook. But he told that it’s fine and I can’t thank him enough.

I couldn’t get the back of my laptop off, thanks to a Phillips screwdriver just not tiny enough so I brought it to these guys. Not only did they solve my problem, but they also swapped out my hard drive for me, which is what I was hoping to do to begin with. They were fast, friendly, and most of all, free. Went to NY Computer Help for a quote to get my laptop’s hinge fixed. I took back my laptop after I was quoted 250 to get my hinge and fan fixed, 125 each. (Using that money for a new laptop instead.) Later, I looked under my laptop to find 3 screws removed and not replaced. Come on, seriously? It’s not that hard to properly close up what you opened. Didn’t get my computer fixed here and I’m glad I didn’t. Giving 2 stars though because customer service was decent.

If your screen is cracked, skip the «Genius» Bar and go here.
I’ve had the unfortunate experience of going to the «Genius» Bar once before — layers and layers of bureaucracy. Besides having to find an appointment that worked in my busy schedule, I had to consent to all sorts of things, including purchasing a new iPhone if there was evidence of water damage. For a cracked screen? Really? How does a quick bath affect my cracked screen? «Genius» also quoted me a 4 hr repair time.
Compare to NY Computer Help: I walked in (no appointment): typed my name, phone number, and e-mail on an iPad to check-in, gave the tech my phone, in 10 minutes I was DONE. «Genius» Bar fail is NY Computer Help’s gain.
Hassle free and incredibly more efficient.
Highly recommend!
Let’s just hope I don’t drop my phone again!

They saved my life! I’m a teacher so all of my lessons throughout the years were on a USB thumb drive. One day the USB just stopped working causing me lose EVERYTHING! This place knows computes! I have been there twice now and each time they have fixed my MacBook Pro with ease. I simply drop my computer off, fill out a form, and off it goes. There turnaround time is very quick usually a day or two unlike the macstore which takes weeks! When they have diagnosed the issue they give me a call and tell me what the problem is, how much it will cost to fix it, and other cost effective ways to deal with it. They are life savors. They literally brought my Mac back to life! I would highly recommend them to any one with computer issues as they are trustworthy and very easy to deal with.

Shattered my second iPhone 6 in five months, considered purchasing a new one through work, but decided to get cover replaced. A) still can’t get over how a cover can be replaced B) impressingly speedy! I had my phone back in 15 minutes and looks brand new. I brought my 4 year old laptop in for overheating and loud fan noise, which had been going on for months and getting worse. Even though they said the couldn’t replicate the noise I described, they still cleaned the fans and checked to make sure no extraneous programs were running in the background.
I wasn’t charged for the dianosis or the fan cleaning. The miraculous thing is the problem is now gone.

My computer had a broken hinge on the ride side that needed to be fixed. I couldn’t close my laptop because it was broken. All the sites I went on quoted me at $ 180 – 250 to fix the broken hinge. I brought it into New York Computer Help to get it fixed. They quoted me $ 125 and told me it would take about 4 days to get it fixed. It was cheaper than the rest of the places, so I decided to go with it.
They stuck to their timeline and called me 4 days later, telling me I could pick up my laptop. When I payed, they actually charged me $ 85, $ 40 cheaper than I was quoted. It looked okay from the outside. He put in a rod to hold the hinge in place, but it didn’t look aesthetically pleasing. It looked more like a band-aid than an actual fix. He also managed to put my screen case back together, as it was coming apart due to the broken hinge.
It’s been about a month (I purposely waited before reviewing) and my computer works fine. The hinge is managing right now, but my screen case came apart. I had to hold it together with shipping tape. That’s probably my only gripe with the place. It looks great when you first pick it up, but over time, it fades back to what it was before.
For the price you pay though, it is worth it. Your laptop isn’t going to be brand spanking new again, they will most likely perform band-aid fixes. If you’re going to buy another computer in 1 – 2 years, it’s a good choice. If you’re looking to keep this laptop working for 5+ years, I’d go somewhere else to get it fixed.

Incredibly honest and kind. Will tell you exactly what’s wrong, will not play games with you.
Every once in awhile your computer decides it hates you BIG TIME. I recently had a baad computer issue. It kept overheating. It would stop working. I was freaking out. I started calling computer repair places in the city, was told it was my fan, was told it was something else… all with a hefty price tag. Then I called New York Computer Help. They told me that the culprit was dog hair. Yup! Dog hair can get into your computer and mess it up. Not only did they fix it, my computer runs incredibly fast now, never overheats, behaves nicely. They didn’t charge me an arm or leg.
If you need computer repair, I highly recommend these guys.

These guys replaced my Nexus 5 screen twice. Once I fell on the sidewalk and once I fell asleep while reading the phone and dropped it. They fix the screen while you wait. It’s as good as new (better, probably). They are super polite and professional.
If you check around, you’ll see that the prices compare favorably with other shops. The first time it was $ 110 and the second time, eight months later, I splurged on some super strong glass and spent $ 135.
It’s a pleasure to patronize these guys. Good service. I was happy and wanted to do something to acknowledge the job they did, so I wrote this review.

I had a stellar experience with New York Computer Help. The thing that stands out the most about NYCH is the customer service. I cracked my Nexus 5’s screen and got the screen replaced. The first screen replacement had a yellow tint to it when viewing white colors (apparently a common problem with Nexus 5’s). When I brought the issue up with NYCH, they happily replaced not only my screen with a new one but the entire body of the phone as well at no extra charge. My phone now looks and feels as good as new. These guys also use all OEM parts, not third party ones.
If your phone is damaged in any way, I highly recommend taking it to these guys. The prices are affordable and the customer service is top notch.
