I also purchased a Living Social deal based on previous sclerotherapy success (in a different city). It has been 7 months, and it looks as though no one has even touched my legs. All the veins are still visible. I have emailed them for help/​recommendations and have gotten absolutely no response. I will be going elsewhere from now on.

DO NOT GO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU CARE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE! This doctor destroyed my leg. I went to him for basic sclerotherapy 8 months ago and he injected so much that he caused scarring all over my legs including an ulcer that I had to make sure didn’t get too infected. I went to two other doctors to get opinions on my legs and they told that this doctor has no idea what he was doing. He admitted it was his fault yet when I went back to fix it he kept injecting and injecting. He was like a mad scientist. Now it seems the only option is for me to pay to get laser treatment to remove the scarring. Bottom line s my legs look much worse from his treatment has they did before.

I purchased a Living Social voucher for Spider vein removal. I went to the office yesterday and had a great experience. The office staff was professional. Dr. Greuner was quick, gentle and very professional.
Update as of 4/17/14…it has been almost a year since I had the sclerotherapy and I can still see where he made the injections. It left visible scars. I recommend going to the NYU Vein Center. I now regret going to this doctor.

I also purchased a group voucher for spider vein removal for the legs like Henrietta B, but I had a completely different experience, in a very positive way.
First to note is I did my research, on what to expect, as well as research on the doctors from vitals and ratemds. Dr. Greuner has major accolades as a vascular surgeon.
As noted, the office was very clean and the front staff was very pleasant. I did not have to wait long to meet with Dr. Greuner.
Dr. Greuner greeted me with a firm handshake, explained the procedure in which he would first inject the solution into the veins, which would cause them to collapse, and then followed up with a wand-​like instrument with a very tiny point which sent a high-​frequency current, «erasing away» the more surface leg veins (I believe it’s called electrocautery). Dr. Greuner was very efficient and did the solution injection quickly (not a big needle fan) and then started with the wand, always asking me how I was doing, being very precise, and chatted with me to help get my mind off of what felt like little pin pricks. It was pretty cool to watch them actually disappear.
He was done in less than 15 min (I had 3 areas, and when I asked about also a small broken blood vessel on my face, he took care of that too, no problem) and said we would meet again for a follow-​up 2 weeks later. He also said that sometimes these veins could be the cause of something underlying and that if I had the insurance, to consider scheduling for a vascular sonogram (no sales push). Another firm handshake (and great smile, ok, the doctor is very handsome too.)
Because I did not have deep vein removal, no compression hose was needed and that I could be active right away, walking, running, working out.
I was very physical after, had no bruising, and my legs continued to look better each day.
I scheduled the follow-​up appt for 2 weeks later. The office has a scheduling website, so I received several appt reminders via email (nice). On the day of my follow up visit, Dr. Greuner was called in for an emergency surgery, so I was told I would meet with Dr. Purpera instead. Since they had to do a lot of rescheduling with having only 1 doctor, I thought for sure I would be waiting a while. But as I got in 15 min early for my appt, I actually met with the doctor right at my scheduled appt time. Dr. Purpera reviewed all the areas and said everything was healing nicely, and I agreed — what had been small purple vein on 3 parts of my legs were now fading red marks. He retouched up some areas with the wand that he felt needed it (and again, found Dr. Purpera very nice, patient, asking me how I was doing, working painstakingly with precision on those tiny blood vessels), and after going over the 3 areas and my face, asked if I had any other areas, which was a nice surprise! I did have a 4^th area, and he did it, no problem, no extra change (and it wasn’t a super small area either).
I would definitely highly recommend the doctors and services, at least for spider vein removal, at NYC Surgical Associates.

I had my varicose veins on my left leg stripped in the past and it required me to stay in the hospital overnight. The recovery was highly uncomfortable and the hospital food was bad.
I never wanted to go through that again.
Luckily with technology /​modern medicine and the fantastic staff at NYC Surgical Associates I didn’t have to.
A while ago I noticed the veins in my right leg needed attention, so I went to see Dr. Greuner for a consult and he told me about a relatively new procedure called radiofrequency ablation that would take care of my varicose veins. He was very patient with me and addressed my fears and concerns in a very professional, yet personal manner. We agreed that this procedure was the way to go.
I still did some research at home and decided to go for it. I am so glad I did. The procedure did not require general anesthesia and had no downtime …
The staff + doctors at the center are very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and on top of everything.
I highly recommend them to anybody who values a doctor who is professional, yet treats you like you are part of his family on one hand — you feel like a person vs just a number and they really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and cared for — yet want the knowledge and expertise of a doctor who is with the times, who constantly keeps up with the changing technology in modern medicine.
