NYC Apartment Painters

After signing up for another two years on our great East Harlem apartment, my partner and I decided to freshen up the place with a splash of color. We’re both busy professionals who work more than full-​time and the idea of dedicating a precious weekend to painting was just not appealing. (First world problems, yo.)
I found NYC Apartment Painters at the recommendation of a friend and couldn’t be happier with the service we received. After a bad experience with a housekeeper, I’m very wary of letting strangers into my apartment, but dealing with them felt very safe and trustworthy. I have a terrible habit of waiting until the last minute to take care of things but I was so impressed by how fast and responsive the were. I thought for sure we’d have to wait weeks to get anyone over to paint but was delighted when I was told that they could come that weekend! Must faster than the competition.
They did a bang-​up job of painting our large living room in a lovely glossy shade of royal blue. While others I’ve dealt with in the past rushed through and did a sloppy job, these guys were very diligent while still being timely. No dripping or uneven application and they did a splendid job around the windows and doors too.
My boyfriend and I are so excited by how our place looks, we’re planning to redecorate and look forward to having people over too!

These guys are amazing. I had two holes in my ceiling, horrible chipped paint on my walls, a horrific bathroom and baseboards that needed to be replaced. Damien was incredible and made my apartment amazing in only two and a half days. Very reasonably priced too. He was great with communication and involved me every step of the way. I highly highly recommend this company!!! Truly the best

I would highly recommend Damien and his painters. They were timely, professional and efficient. I reached out to many painters who didn’t get back to me and were flaky. Damien came over the same day I called him to give me an estimate. I also have never used a painter before, so I had no idea where to find one. I simply trusted the Unilocal ratings, and I didn’t regret it. They did a very nice job painting my apartment. I will use them again in the future if I need painters.

It is not often that I am impressed, especially with painting. However, I was motivated enough by Big Apple Painters [here referred to as NYC Apartment Painters — Jim and his crew] to visit Unilocal and give some Kudos where it is due.
Another agent from the office had suggested them months earlier for my own place and the results were amazing. My biggest pet peeve with most contractors is the way they leave things for you to clean up after the job. When I came home that day, the apartment was spotless to the extent that if not for the beauty and the smell of fresh paint, you could not tell the place was just painted. I spent some time wondering what kind of dedication and training sets this company apart from the rest. Of course, I got into my routines and kept going with my life.
Then couple of weeks back, I needed to have an apartment fixed, painted, and primed for a client before the showing. Naturally, I called them, got a timely quote, timely appointment, and no dancing around. On the day of the appointment, I got the keys back in less than 9 hours. Inspected, the apartment the next day and was totally blown away by the workmanship. I was not expecting a Luxurious finish, and trust me I see a lot of luxury buildings almost everyday in Manhattan. As do most Manhattan Real Estate Agents. I had thought maybe they were just trying to make a first impression the 1^st time around. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised to find out it was business as usual for these guys!
If you need any kind of painting done, I will suggest you do yourself a favor and give them a call. The rates are divine, and yet the results are superior.

I normally just use Unilocal for restaurants, but I had a good experience finding a hair stylist herre, I came back when I realized I needed a house painter for my apartment.
My roommate situation in my last place had gone bad, and I needed to move into a new apartment quickly with a limited budget. I found a perfect place in a brownstone in Ridgewood, owned by a nice older man. It seems he had been a bit of a handyman most of his life, and, upon closer inspection, the apartment showed it, including a plumbing issue that had caused some peeling and cracking in the paint. The owner had tried to paint over it himself without doing the necessary work underneath, and it showed. He said he had «just painted» the place, but it looked awful. Still, it was the best thing I could find in my price range and I had to move, so I took it.
I thought about just calling someone from Craigslist, but I had heard so many horror stories. I tried some of the big name places, but they sounded like they weren’t very interested in just a studio apartment.
The guy I got on the phone ((I think his name was Jim), asked a lot of questions before giving me a quote.
Most of the damage was in the main studio area, and he talked me through the entire thing. I decided to have it done, and the guys who came to do the job were just as professional as the guy who gave the quote. They found even more problems with the previous paint job, but they stuck to the quote. I certainly am not a handyman, but they were patient with what I’m sure they thought were silly questions.
I would never have been able to have people over the way it was. They didn’t do a good job — they did a better job than I anticipated. They did such a good job fixing the spots with the damage that if I didn’t tell you where it was, you wouldn’t find it.
I told a friend of mine who was thinking of doing her apartment herself about them, and she said she also had a really good experience. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone for any size job.

You should’ve seen the state of our apartment before we got these guys in. Ancient, peeling paint on one of the walls, fading colors on others, and an eyesore of a job in the bathroom which my partner had painted this ghastly lime green.
The NYC Apartment Painters were so easy and pleasant to work with. I told them what I needed, they gave me a quote, came in on time and got it done, and that was that. No waffling on about price or difficulty or some other service they think is better suited for the job, none of that slick, sales-​y stuff that some businesses like to drown you with.
I don’t need sell sheets or glossy photographs or flyers with your special deals «THIS WEEK ONLY!» Just need a good painting on a few walls in a tiny apartment. These guys did that — quickly, efficiently and spotlessly. Perfect job.

My friend and I had both heard good things about NYC Apartment Painters (formerly Big Apple Painters), and she needed to repaint her room for move out. I called them up to get a quote, and their professional demeanor immediately put us at ease. Hiring a contractor can be uncomfortable, you never know who you’re going to get!
The room was painted quickly, efficiently, and they didn’t cut corners on drop cloths and plastic. The room was cared for, and there were no stray splatters and spills on the carpet from the job. The lines were cut nicely without sloppy edges on the ceiling and window sashes. She got a real pro job at a great price.
The guys were very courteous and professional. Plus the room looks great! I’m sure the next tenant will be very happy with the quality. Highly recommended.
