Specialties
We offer classes on wine and cheese, hosted in our relaxed and inviting wine loft. The classes are educational, yet social in nature, and never stuffy. Topics range from ‘Wine 101′ to ‘A Tour of Italy’ and ‘Napa vs. Bordeaux’. We hope to see you soon!
History
Established in 2002.
Andrew Harwood founded the company in 2002, while working from his apartment in the east village. He began the company after making wine for several years in Hungary, France, and California, and after earning his Master’s degree from Cornell’s Hotel School.
In 2004, the school set up shop permanently at 167 West 23rd Street in Chelsea, above Landmark Wines. Over the last eight years, we have hosted tens of thousands of students, with many becoming familiar faces as they keep returning for our unique blend of education, atmosphere, and an all around great experience. We hope to see you soon.

Business Owner
Andrew Harwood has worked in nearly every facet of the wine industry over the last fifteen years. His love of wine began while working in some of the country’s best dining rooms. Yet his true passion was discovered while making wine in Hungary, France, and California.
After spending two years as the Assistant Wine Director at Picholine in Manhattan, he served a one year wine-making apprenticeship in Tokaj, Hungary, followed by earning his Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University. During this time, he completed a work/study abroad at Château Lynch-Bages in Bordeaux and in Paris at L’Essec Ecole du Commerce. Following graduation, he worked as the Assistant Winemaker at Limerick Lane Cellars in Sonoma, California. Two years later he moved to NYC to start ‘NYC wine class’.
He has been written up in ‘Newsweek’, ‘The Wall Street Journal’, ‘Allure’, ‘New York Magazine’ (critic’s pick), and has written for many industry publications, including ‘Beverage Media’.
