NYC Yogurt

The Cake Batter frozen yogurt is incredible! Doesn’t taste low-​fat in the least so it’s something I look forward to when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth.
I wish they had a bit more variety of flavors, but at least the ones they have don’t disappoint.
It’s also a little weird to see them selling wires and phone accessories in the same store, but it must meet the needs of a very niche market.

All natural ingredients. Yogurt taste like ice cream. Many varieties of toppings. Recommend salted caramel ice cream and for you coconut lover… go coco for coconut ice cream. Its a real time treat for sure.

I’m not too happy on the price and how expensive NYC Yogurt can be, but I must say it did taste delicious and rich. I would definitely indulge myself again with NYC Yogurt but I’ll make sure I work some overtime :)

I love this place!
1) So many toppings to choose from — from your healthy toppings like fruit and semi-​healthy mochi, to your indulgences — oreos, brownie bits, cookie dough, rainbow cookies [say what!?], n all types of chocolatey bits.
2) So many syrups — nutella, PB, hot fudge, sprinkles.
3) Flavors are ah-​mazing. Plethora of options to choose from whether you are craving fro-​yo or ice cream. You can stick with the classic, tart plain fro-​yo, or even pick the vanilla or chocolate flavors if you’re indecisive. OR you can choose one of their seasonal options! In the fall they have pumpkin. If you have a sweet tooth go for the cookies n’ cream or cake batter — always hits the spot!
No matter that my signature is cookies n’ cream piled high in rainbow cookies and cookie dough drowning in nutella syrup. I kid myself into thinking that it’s a healthier option cuz it’s froyo, and you should too!
4) It adds up! You’ll feel like a glutton after you put your fro-​yo on the scale, but that just shows how many delicious options they have.

The yogurt selection is all good. The staff nice so be nice because u might get a free waffle cup like myself.

I definitely like this yogurt spot. The flavors they have are really good (My favorite is the cake batter) and they have tons of different toppings.
There are no set prices or sizes you just grab a cup, put in as much as you want and they weigh it. They have a points system available which I think is kinda corny but whatever. If you reach 60 pts you get a free yogurt so each yogurt you buy is approx 6 pts or more depending on the weight of your purchase. Also if your willing to sign up for the text message alerts they have promotions like buy one get one free, percentages off ect.
Overall if you pass an NYC yogurt I would recommend!

I’m not a huge self-​serve froyo fan. It’s mostly because of the fact I try so hard not to overdo it… and, $ 12 later, I’m stuck with too much froyo and toppings. DAMMIT! Ha!
Well, my co-​worker and I stopped here for dessert after lunch one day, justifying that it was Pay Day and we could splurge on some dessert. (Good reason, yes?)
It was empty at 2 p.m. on a Thursday… on a 30 degree day… but I was pleased with the selection. I tried to go easy: I got a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of vanilla, and a little bit of sea salt caramel. I mixed in some strawberries and chocolate chips. It was still $ 8.88. Ugh. Haaa. That being said, it WAS delicious, absolutely. It was a good combination of flavors that all paired with each other nicely.
I’m pleased! I could see myself stopping here on occasion once the weather gets warmer. I’ll just have to exhibit great self-​control, maybe actually keeping my purchase under $ 5. ;-)

I came here on my lunch break one day. Instead of eating lunch. Doing something else instead of eating lunch, which is every day? Well, I don’t eat fro-​yo every day because I would be sick if I did. But if I had unlimited amounts of money, the threats of not getting fat, and/​or diabetes I totes would. This is up there on quality. Almost as good as YogurtLand and 16 Handles, but not quite at their level. Also, was mildly annoyed that you couldn’t just grab the sample cups and go to town. A guy doles them out for you. I tried both the mint and peanut butter. Both great. I’d go with the mint because you usually don’t see that as a fro-​yo flavor and it tasted just like Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Traditional candy toppings in the bins. I think I just went with a cookie crumble at the time and a few pieces of cookie dough. OH! One thing I did notice! They have like little squeeze tubes of not just chocolate sauce, my little friends. NUTELLA! AND wait for it, Marshmallow FLUFF! YES. That was what sucked me in and I have to say that 4 is really 4.5. The interior is kind of neat as well and decorated with a NYC subway theme.

We stopped by here on a Sunday evening. The place was empty. We were the only customer there. The staff was friendly. We got the pomegranate raspberry sorbet. We like it. It’s somewhat sour but refreshing. Decent amount of yogurt & topping selection.

Another froyo place on Fulton Street?! Ok. I’m not sure why we have so many but I guess I’ll give it a shot.
Styled like the subway system, NYC Yogurt is a cute concept. You can try the flavors before committing, but there’s only one size cup, and it happens to be giant. Decent selection of toppings, although I wish there was more fresh fruit. Red Mango, directly across the street, seems to have a better fruit selection.
Yogurt chips and graham cracker topping are my personal favs.
Be sure to ask for a punch card!

Another yogurt place in the financial district! YEAAA!!! What you guys have no toppings??? Booooooo… I knew it was too good to be true.
Ok so maybe I went on a night when they had by some confluence of terrible «topping» related events, run out of ALL the fresh fruit toppings… but that is a bit ridiculous. Yes, the place is cute, its clean, the staff is extremely nice and patient but that doesn’t make up for the fact that they didn’t have any fresh fruit left. I feel that if you have a yogurt shop you should have all the available toppings… I mean you only need to keep two things… yogurt and toppings!!!
The yogurt itself was very good, the praline was my favorite and a flavor that I haven’t run across in other yogurt shops. However, even the praline flavor couldn’t make up for the lack of toppings. That is why for now, 16 handles will stay my favorite in yogurt shops and in FiDi it will be Strawberry Fields for yogurt!

But I did enjoy the service, they were patient and friendly and always made it clear that I could try whatever I wanted. I had already made my decision… I had the Praline, Pistachio and Pumpkin… triple P threat. :) The Praline was buttery, the Pistachio was nutty and the Pumpkin was spicy (in that sweet/​spicy way pumpkin pie is)… can’t really complain too much about it. The toppings were neat, and plentiful. They even had mini Sno-​caps! I love Sno-​caps!
I also like the handles of the yogurt bar, train lines! Didn’t I say this place was cute? And at $ 0.55 an ounce… it’s not a bad deal for being in FiDi.

This place is really good. I’m always hesitant to try out new frozen yogurt places but since this one is so close to me I thought I’d give it a shot.
The service is fantastic and the employees are so nice.
The flavors were interesting – after sampling a few I decided on pistachio. The yogurt doesn’t have as much tang as red mango (they’ll always be my favorite) but you can still tell it’s yogurt. It doesn’t taste completely like ice cream (like Cups, for example).

We happened to be in Midtown today, and decided to try out NYC Yogurt, a yogurt shop that we had heard about from friends that was alike to 16 handles. Walking in, we were intrigued by the décor of the shop, which featured it’s logo in subway lettering. Immediately we thought, that’s very New York, and it provoked a natural homeyness.
There were a wide variety of frozen yogurt options, with 14 of them, though obviously less than the 16 found at, well, 16 handles. Some of the flavors were: Original (Tart), Chocolate, Country Vanilla, Peanut Butter, Cake Batter, Pistachio, Toasted Marshmallow, and Cookies & Cream.
Many of the flavors were tasty, but some of them were simply overwhelming and a little too strange. Toasted Marshmallow only tasted sweet, while Cookies & Cream tasted more like watered down chocolate than the traditional cookies & cream taste. Original reminded me of what’s usually Red Mango and Pinkberry, which made Pistachio my automatic favorite. There was flavor, and it wasn’t overly sugary.
The topping bar was pretty standard, though some of the toppings, like the gummy worms, seem a bit hard and stale, likely due to the lack of enough customers.
With that being said, this shop seems to rather be in the infant stages. The upstairs of the shop, which we believe was meant for additional seating, was still scattered with boxes, limiting seating downstairs to only two small tables and some dirty chairs. This automatically was a turn off, making it difficult to enjoy our yogurt. In addition, the cashier struggled with his iPad in calculating the cost of our yogurts — it took him a good minute before he seemed to press the right buttons.

I am not sure why this place has such raving ratings.
Although I don’t stuff my face with fro-​yo that often, the one time I felt like doing so, I decided to try this place (based on the A-​wesome ratings!). Not only was the original flavor disappointing, tart and (seemed to be) loaded with artificial flavors /​sugars, but the deceivingly elaborate spread of toppings was unappetizing, drab and felt as though had been out for days. I used the mini M&Ms, fresh mango, some chocolat-​y thing and all I got were 2 unsatisfying bites worth $ 4. I could not proceed. I shall stick to calories and ice cream. Bleh.

I cannot express in words how truly awesome this place is. Friendly attentive service, endless free samples, very clean, not at all expensive and oh yeah THE YOGURT IS FREAKING YUMMMMZ!
If you go for chocolate or vanilla, you should be slapped — the salted caramel is by far the best, followed by the New York cheesecake, followed by the toasted marshmallow, followed by the pistachio. Okay, so I tried a bunch of them.
The toppings cannot be beat. Butterfinger pieces, peanut butter cups, fruit, every nut you can imagine as well as the soft stuff like chocolate sauce and peanut butter, oh and let’s not forget the little juicy balls of fruit juice that pop in your mouth (I forget the name but they look like colorful tapioca pearls from bubble tea, only liquidy on the inside, not jelly — passion fruit gets my vote)
The subway themed design is really cute as well… best of all, I walked up to the register with my giant cup of multiple flavors and about 7 toppings and was fully expecting to pay $ 12 for the experience — $ 5.99 later and I’m a happy girl with a little more spring in her step walking back to the office.

Am I the only guy who doesn’t care to try flavors? I see cookie n cream; I see peanut butter; I see chocolate; I’m going for it.
Whatever. I just buy them without trying because I am:
1) a risk taker who obviously makes bank
2) awkwardly confused on how to sample the small paper cup of yogurt without a spoon.
Famous Unilocaler Girl was all up on that business trying out the different flavors and her enthusiasm was only matched by the super friendly staff giving out samples non-​stop.
NYC Yogurt has about twelve flavors spread across subway-​color-​themed machines. The yellow train machine has the fruity flavors because Astoria is full of vegetarians and orange train machine has the chocolate because Eastern Queens people are fat. Just kidding its just random and makes no sense. But I like to imagine that it does.
Lots of topping. Cookie and cream topping on your cookie n cream yogurt = winning. Pistachio on pistachio also sounds pretty sexy. There’s also an assortment of cereal things you can put on your yogurt because you’re weird like Famous Unilocaler. I couldn’t find reeses or mochi though*.
Upon checking out, the lady asked if its my first time here because she hasn’t seen me before. Damn girl that’s impressive. Let me wear my mustache disguise and go back the next week.
One star taken off because there’s no seating. Understandable in this neighborhood though. There are some standup counters but you won’t have the space to hold a private conversation.
There was a fairly long line at 2pm but the place was near empty by 2:30.

Right after I just expressed my joy over the recent opening of NYC Yogurt near City Hall, we get another location that is even closer to the Financial District.
This is the official nail in the coffin for Red Mango (right across the street! What a shame for them) and the mediocre Strawberry Fields (about a one minute walk from here).
This place is just as good as the 16 Handles mega-​chain, and looks to be expanding pretty rapidly itself. This is now the third location, and they all have the same great, high-​quality yogurt and variety of toppings.
There are only 12 flavors here, but it’s all good because nearly all of the flavors are great, unlike a number of the throwaways at 16 Handles (Blackberry, Peach and Blood Orange Sorbetto are all pretty nasty). The Peanut Butter here is amazing, and so is the Salted Caramel, Cake Batter, Cheesecake and Toasted Marshmallow.
My blood sugar levels will definitely become more of a problem than they already are since this is a two minute walk from my place.

They just opened an hour ago! I strolled by at the tail end of my lunch break. The owner excitedly told me I was their first customer!
Last week, NYC Yogurt’s goofy subway-​themed signage appeared above a long-​vacant storefront on Fulton Street. Intriguing — if a self-​serve froyo business has the balls to open DIRECTLY across the street from Red Mango (as well as up the block from Strawberry Fields, and Pinkberry’s summer pop-​up at the Seaport), their yogurt has to be pretty good, right?
Everyone who works there is ridiculously friendly. Even better, I’m happy to report that the yogurt is great. The original tart is less sour than some others, but it’s thick, creamy rather than icy, and not too sweet. I would’ve been happy to forgive an establishment in its *first few minutes* of business for machines not yet running properly, but all the flavors I tried were perfectly firm, not melty (cough, sorry, W. B. Yeats, for my previous review:

$ 0.49 per oz. They’ve started with a basic rotation of flavors: original, pistachio, cheesecake, toasted marshmallow, cookies n cream, peanut butter, salted caramel, and some others I’m forgetting. Each of the 40+ toppings has its own lid, so it at least feels a bit cleaner than seeing cheesecake morsels mashed up in their container.
This is as good as having a 16 Handles in the Financial District. Here’s hoping that the extremely high-​traffic location won’t decrease their awesomeness.
