Food is exceptionally bad. We ordered a paella, it’s too salty. The chilian seabass we ordered was cold inside and had to sent back to the kitchen twice, but problem still not corrected. Looks like the fish was frozen and never defrost before putting on the stove. Service was bad. The waiter gave us a bad face when we asked to send back the seabass to the kitchen. Expect much better service when a restaurant is charging $ 40 per entrée. At the end the waiter took off the seabass from the bill. Not executing an apology, but would appreciate if he told us it was taken off from the bill. We were confused if the bill was our table.

Wow, the salmon pastrami with potato salad appetizer was RIDICULOUS, as was the tuna entrée. One of the best seafood meals I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely amazing dinner…

The service in this restaurant is nonchalant. Our server seemed irritated that we asked questions. Even though the restaurant was half full she managed to be no where in sight for long periods of time. When she did come to the table if we didn’t know what we wanted right away, she left. She also was annoyed by questions — and had a very fake demeanor. Smiling and cheerful she still managed to convey that she couldn’t wait for us to leave. Suffice to say at the end of the meal the table was full of food and silverware but no one made a move to clear it. The waitress plopped down dessert menus on top of the dirty silverware. I finally asked a busboy to please clear the table. For the prices they charge the service should be top notch. Unfortunately, it is not.

Okay, I’m allergic to seafood, but the family wanted to come here after the museum. The ambience is beautiful. The service and staff were lovely. The menu very small, and very pricey, even for Manhattan. Everything a la carte.(ie $ 9 for a tiny basket of french fries with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on them) My short rib dish on parmesan risotto was fan-freakin-tastic! My companions had seafood dishes, and said they were just okay, nothing special. Desserts took a long time to arrive after ordering, but were very good. No one in my party wanted to return to this seafood establishment, but I would, for the rib. Aye, there’s the rub.

Absolutely delicious salmon sushi, melts in your mouth and seasoned really tastily. I had a roll as well, forgot the name think it was something to do with spicy hamachi. Highly recommend their salmon sushi!

This review is very delayed(went in August 2013) but I have not forgotten the experience we shared. First, I took my mom here for restaurant week and our food was to die for. We sat on the sidewalk, shared wine, and ate the most delicious fish and fresh food. Then in August 2013, we took the whole family to Ocean Grill for dinner inside the restaurant and it was another great experience. Very attentive service, excellent food, and a nice ambiance. My brother and I shared some raw oysters and these oysters were the best I have ever had to this day. I hope to return soon to Ocean Grill!

Went for dinner with family. Had ZERO idea how absolutely phenomenal the food would be. Aside from the fact that both staff and service were excellent, the restaurant is beautiful and the quality of their fish is on another level of perfection. To start I shared two dishes. I ordered the Burrata Caprese –and I kid you not– it was mind-blowing! You must order to at least share ! You will not regret it! I then shared the ahi tuna tartar which was fresh, and prepared beautifully(and deliciously). I then finished with the Roasted Rainbow Trout, which YOUMUSTHAVE! It was cooked and flavored to perfection. I am sure everything is delicious, but if you are a fan of cheese that Burrata will not disappoint… and if you love fish this Rainbow Trout entrée will have you drooling before it even arrives in front of you!

I went here many times before and I always loved their food n menus. This time when i came last nite, alot of things are different in the menu and the sauces is also different. I dont like it and not only me, bith of us dont like what we had. We came here alot b4 but now i dont know if we want to come back. You should change the menu and the food for the better not change for the bad.

The food was fantastic! Oyster was fresh and well presented; lobster was very tasty; and the fish… was superb! It was my birthday, so the restaurant gave me a chocolate cake with a vanilla ice cream. That was very delicious too. Staff were very friendly and thoughtful. I would definitely come back.

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night and received great service and had a nice time. We were seated right away, the front desk and manager were both polite and friendly. Our server greeted us right away, well under a minute, nicely done. Forgot his name, but he was a nice gentleman who looked like a mix of Johnny Depp and Kirk Hammett. We placed our drink orders and the drinks came out in under 5 minutes, blazing fast! So far so good. I had a bottle of stout(no draft beer??), can’t remember the name but it had a fish on it and was really good! We ordered our food and apps and everything came out prepared properly and on time. I had the chicken breast with mushrooms and potatoes and it was tasty! Seasoned nicely, and a nice sauce as well. Definitely interesting and worth having. Our server came by a couple of times to check on our food and pre-bus the table, nice work! I wasn’t able to finish my dish so I asked for a to-go box. They went one better and boxed it up for me, above and beyond! We were all stuffed and had no room for dessert, so we took the check and were on our way. Our server thanked us and a manager near the front door also thanked us on the way out. Great service, you can tell this store really has their act together. I would have liked to see draft beer choices and the place is a little pricey, but overall a job well done by the staff at Ocean. Would definitely return.

Ok, why is it that one of the absolute best burgers I have ever had was at a seafood restaurant? Yes, the Wagyu Burger was delicious(prepared medium rare as the chef recommends). The fries were underwhelming, I would ask to substitute the mashed potatoes with truffle oil. Now the seafood… Unfortunately I cannot say the seafood was as good as the burger I enjoyed so much. I originally decided to order the Ahi Tuna Tartare and Lump Crab Cake. One of my friends order the Crab Cake as an appetizer and it was small, I knew I wouldn’t have been satisfied. So I decided to go with the Tuna and the Burger. Best call of the night. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was honestly just ok, I’ve had better in the desert. One of my friends did say the scollop ceviche was amazing. Our server was very nice, he had no problem changing more order after I saw the size of the Crab Cake. I do remember sitting with an empty water glass for what seemed to be 10 minutes, not the worst thing in the world but mildly annoying. Was this place disappointing, a little bit, but that Wagyu Burger was amazing. Will I jump to go back? Probably not, but if I end up there I am pretty sure I will get the Wagyu Burger.

Came in here for restaurant week after a walk through Central Park. I ordered the blue crab roll, rainbow trout, and their berry cake. The blue crab roll was good, and the wasabi mixture on top was nice, but I’ve definitely had better sushi and this didn’t really stand out to me. The trout however was really nice and had a good crispy crust to it with great flavor. Portions were very small though and I left my meal hungry. Finally for dessert the cake was kinda dry but still tasted almost refreshing after the hot day. The service here can leave a little bit to be desired, as it would often be 15 minutes before a waiter would come by to check on us. And the prices here are high for what you’re getting, but their restaurant week deal was great($ 38 for three courses). Location is right behind the natural history museum and Central Park.

This restaurant would be a four-star at a lower price point. The food was all good, but not necessarily premium. Cocktails were nothing special. The Honeymoon tasted like a juice-based egg nog, and the mango Cosmo was a bit like orangina – good, but not $ 14 good. For that money, go to one of the many brilliant lounges dotting NYC. Maki rolls were interesting and better than average. The lobster roll with cilantro and mango was definitely something to think about, but it did not blow my mind. Medium means rare and rare means almost totally raw. When ordering meat, bump up your doneness preference by two levels. Tuna entrée was oddly boring: just several chunks of meat, almost nothing to go with it. Filet mignon looked a bit more interesting. Paella was fine. Desserts were ordinary. The best one was the rhubarb pie, which was buttery and flaky, though even in this case you got the sense that some frozen pastries from Trader Joe’s could give it a run for its money.(To be clear: some frozen pastries from Trader Joe’s are very good.) The bibimbap, their sole vegetarian offering, was also the best thing that they served. While not very Korean, it had a balanced ginger-rosemary spice and was sweet and sticky. It was like a deconstructed zongzi, without the pork.

This was a perfectly nice brunch spot. The hubby and I found ourselves on the UWS one fine Sunday morning and we had a hankering for brunch. This is a lovely, clean restaurant with very nice service. We had: Bloody Mary — tasty but a bit too spicy Egg white omelet with mushrooms and goat cheese — very tasty Market omelet with vegetables and swiss cheese — also very good Mac n Cheese — I thought it was good, but my daughter thought otherwise… We would definitely come back for lunch or dinner.
