Fantastic store! Some items are overpriced but the knowledge of the girls in the store is really good. They know their stuff. Store doesn’t carry ALL brands but a good selection of them. Oh my wallet took a beating here: P

This place was easy to find and had a wide selection of Asian cosmetics. Good selection of tonymoly products, large variety of face masks, and products on trend (aka I didn’t know snail in make up was the new thing). I knew what I was going for but I do wish more things were labeled with explanations of what they are in their row. Definitely go in with a plan because it can be overwhelming! Very friendly and helpful staff– gave me some samples and business card (so now I can fulfill all my cute product needs even when far away from NYC). Also if you buy $ 20+ in product you get to pick out a cool bag to take your stuff home in!

I love this place. Very small though, I wish it was bigger :/​If you’re looking for Asian cosmetics you should come here. They have a little bit of everything from companies, and for average price. They also have miscellaneous things like: masks, razors, eyelash glue, brushes, mugs, etc. The staff is really nice & attentive :) I just wish it was biggerrrrrr. If it was bigger they would be able to fit even more products

I travel from Philly to oo35mm for my Korean makeup fix — it is that good. Tons to choose from in this compact, upstairs store. Free samples and a cute bag if you make it over $ 25.00 (and you will!)

Had a great experience at this store. The customer service is great and the store associate had some good suggestions in regards to what products would be best for my skin type. During checkout she also gave me some samples to help with my skin. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

It’s relatively hard to find Asian beauty stores that hire associates that speak English fluently. oo35mm, associates are knowledgable as they are friendly.
This store has transformed from a gimmick filled closet to a beauty guru’s dream. This is the K-​beauty shop queen hosting brands other shops do not such as 3CE, Leaders Solution and COSRX. Also note I want to say some of their products are a few buckaroos cheaper than other stores. For an example, their Leader’s Solution masks are $ 2.99.
They also have a great email subscription that alerts you on various product and brand sales.
This is a hidden gem that you NEED to go, NOW!

Yes! Finally a store to feed to all my K beauty obsessions! No longer do I need to shop online and wait forever for the shipments oversea. Now I can shop and test out the products in store! This is every girl’s korean skincare dream!
Space: Hard to find; entrance is up the stairs. Store space is small, I can imagine getting very crowded when it’s busy.
Price: There are at least 3 other korean skincare stores within 3 blocks of Oo35mm, and Oo35mm definitely have the best price for some of the same and more popular products.
Service: The 3 other stores I went to, the sales girls immediately started to hover, which is typical of asian stores. They followed me around, start to recommend products, asking me questions and pushing me to try/​buy products. This made a very unpleasant shopping experience. At Oo35mm, I didn’t feel hovered, rushed or pressured at all. The sale girls greeted me, asked if I need anything, let me take my sweet time, and answered all my questions. Much enjoyable shopping experience!
Products: A very wide variety of brands (Étude house, Mizon, Skinfood, Innisfree, The Face Shop, Tonymoly, Su: m 37, Banila Co., Benton, OST, Cosrx, etc.) Downside, the store only carries the best selling/​highest rated products of each brand. So if you want to buy a specific full line of a specific brand, you might not get it here. Majority of the store carries skincare, I didn’t notice many makeup products.
Tips: If you’re a K beauty beginner, you might get overwhelmed by the store, have no worried though, the sales girls are very helpful! I do recommend doing some research on the brands, productive reviews and understand your skin before you conquer the store. Also sign up for the email list to be up to date on discounts :)

My experience at oo35mm exemplifies customer service at its best. I came in here looking for a bottle of cleansing water for my face, and I walked out with exactly what I wanted and needed, thanks to the help of the staff members here.
There were many positive aspects about visiting oo35mm: it’s a quick turn away from Canal Street and it’s a treasure trove of Korean skincare products which I know have been having their moment to shine in New York.
One of the staff workers came and asked if I needed help, and when I told her I was looking for cleansing water, our subsequent dialogue showed me that she was knowledgable about the products in-​store. She pointed out two products that would be great for my skin type, and I bought the product she recommended to me.
This oo35mm branch is pretty small space-​wise, and its entrance was initially hard to find, since you need to walk up a gray staircase to get in. Since those problems were minor to me, so I won’t be docking a star for those. All you need to do is spot the entryway from the street, and you’re good to go.

The sales people here are incredibly helpful and genuine in their recommendations without being at all pushy. If it’s your first time in an primarily Korean Beauty store, be prepared for sensory overload. There’s creams, serums, compact and masks in every color, animal, shapes and sizes!

oo35mm has changed quite a bit since my last review — they no longer have fun gifts/​trinkets and now only sell cosmetics and skincare products. Their skincare selection has expanded significantly though, and they are definitely the place to go for Asian skincare junkies! You can find face masks, cleansing oils, BB creams, and more. They carry most of the big Korean brands (Skinfood, Innisfree, Tonymoly, Holika Holika, Étude House) and also now have Paula’s Choice products. On my most recent visit I came to pick up the Benton Snail Bee steam cream and essence, which came to about $ 16 – 17 each.
The customer service here is great. They don’t hound you to buy anything but if you do have questions, they are very willing to help. The lady who rang me up gave me a COSRX BHA sample with my purchase. There’s also a rewards program you can sign up for to get info about promotions and 10% off on your birthday.

This beauty store is a hidden gem that I wish I knew of earlier!
Although I was the only customer in store at a time, the space felt a little narrow. However, I will not complain because this limited space offers a large variety of popular Asian skincare products. Masks, creams, make-​up, beauty tools, and cute trinkets galore!
I was ready to grab everything that caught my eye, but I did specifically come here to look for a dark eye circle treatment and an essence. The lady that worked there (her name is Wendy) took her time to explain which product would suit my skin type and condition the best. She suggested the Miskin Gel Eye Patches and the Cosrx Snail Essence, and she even helped me to choose a product for the better deal. Success! Upon leaving, she gave me free beauty samples and put my purchases in a re-​usable bag in the shape of a bunny. This cannot get any cuter!
Customers can also sign-​up for their free membership to receive future discounts. I will definitely return to this store to update my skincare products!

This store is awesome. They have tonymoly products so much cheaper than at the actual tonymoly store and though it is small they make good use of space and literally have everything as far as skin care needs go

Small hidden gem and Korean beauty heaven!
For a small store, they carry a range of different brands, Primarily Korean skincare and makeup and sheet masks! I LOVE the customer service. NO rushing and forcing you to buy things which I have experienced in Tony Moly and the Yeon. I went there over the weekends to buy Christmas gifts for friends and asked the salesperson for recommendations. She gave me a few recommendations and gave time to think and have some time browsing. I ended buying SNP animal masks as joke gifts for my friends and got a cute rabbit bag for $ 20+ purchase and a sample of Cure Aqua gel. Score! They have weekly sales on certain products for members. (it’s free of course) Would definitely come again!

I only recently got into the Korean 10-​step facial care process and I am so glad that I found oo35mm. Literally everything I need in one tiny 2^nd floor suite in Chinatown! All the attendees I have spoken with so far are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. They have a wide range of products (at least from this newbie’s point of view). Their items are decently priced and if you become a member, you can get discounts. Thanks to all the wonderful recommendations, my face has cleared up dramatically and I am definitely coming back to oo35mm for all my face care needs!

Wow I really wish this place could get more than 5 stars! The service is phenomenal here. The sales girl was so patient with me while I asked her so many questions about the products here. I came here because I needed a waterproof mascara. I was led to a Japanese brand and boy does it NOT come off. I’m talking about dancing in 90 degree weather in a music festival for 12 hours and NO flaking or melting. It’s called KissMe Heroine Make.
I also bought a gentle foaming face cleanser which I find to be just OK. Not the best but I like how gentle and non-​drying it is for face. The winner of my haul at oo35mm was the Korean cloth face masks they sell. Seriously. At $ 2.50 a pop it’s like a poor girl’s facial! I wish I bought more than one.
The prices aren’t cheap here but it is essentially a Japanese and Korean sephora thats more easier on the wallet than Sephora prices. I will return!

Loooove this place!
Shelves are jam packed with so many products, especially Korean skin care. They also have Japanese products, particularly the very popular dolly wink.
I visit this store about every 2 – 3 months to buy Liese hair dye, which is the cheapest in Chinatown at only $ 14! Neighboring pharmacies or beauty stores can sell it for up to $ 20. Love the reasonable prices here.
They have a huuuuuuge selection of skin masks, like face masks and pore strips. These are some of the cheapest prices I’ve ever seen for great quality.
Besides the incredible inventory, they really deserve the 5 stars for customer service! They truly care about your purchase and are willing to help you find the perfect product! Love them here! Been a loyal customer for years :-).

Situation: After the summer weather had been particularly brutal on my skin, I decided to jump onto the Korean skin care wagon. I did a little internet research to find some of the top recommended products, and then headed to oo35mm instead of buying them online. After some assistance from Cai (sp?), I left with Bioderma Micelle Solution ($ 29.99), Innisfree Long Wear Cushion ($ 23.99), Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist ($ 7.99), Leaders AC Clear Treatment Mask ($ 3.99) and Trouble Minus Smart Laser Mask ($ 5.50). My grand total, including my member discount and tax came to $ 77.80. At checkout, my cashier threw in a bunch of free samples for my skin type, and I also got a freebie necklace for spending more than $ 5. All of it went into a cute, fruit-​themed reusable pouch. Woo hoo!
I had been to oo35mm once previously to get some Prettia Bubble Hair dye in Dark Chocolate (which I loved because it complemented my skin tone but was so subtle that only my stylist could tell I had coloured my hair!)
PROS
–Helpful but not overbearing staff: I browsed for a little bit before one of their salespeople, Cai, approached me and asked if I needed help. I appreciated that she gave me a little space to breathe before jumping in. I told her what I was looking for, which was a good cushion for the summer, and asked her what mist she recommended. She was very knowledgeable, inquiring about my skin type (combination, acne-​prone) and providing product knowledge.
–Vast selection: They have all the big brand names I came across while scouring the net, and while the store is quite small, it is undeniably neat. All the testers were labeled with dates.
CONS
–None that I am aware of. If I’m being really nitpicky, I could say that the entrance to the store wasn’t extremely obvious to me, but just go along Mott Street and look for a big oo35mm sign at the bottom of a large staircase, then go to the 2^nd floor.
In a nutshell…
If you are big on Korean or Asian skin care, or curious to learn more about it, head on over! Even for someone like me who is a newbie to the Asian skin care world, I felt comfortable and confident in my purchases after getting help from the salesperson. It’s really nice to be able to come into a store to buy something instead of getting it online as you can test the product and ask one of their helpers for advice. Plus no wait time.

Slowly but surely I find little places in NYC that make me dislike the city a little less and less… oo35mm being one of those! Really great Asian beauty finds to be had in this place. For instance, I have been obsessed with my mom’s old eyelash curler ever since I secretly stole it from her vanity years ago (shhhh, don’t tell her). I knew she got it in Japan in the 80’s, so I never really tried to locate the brand. This eyelash curler goes everywhere with me, and it was a huge point of anxiety that I would lose it…
Flash forward to my visit here. I’m browsing around and BAM, right in my face is the same brand as my mom’s old eyelash curler! My excitement level went from 0 to 60. My heart was pounding. I bought it on the spot, plus an Étude House pencil sharpener but that is besides the point. Thinking about this experience still brings a smile to my face.
