Park Avenue Radiologists PC

Upon first entering Park Avenue Radiology, I was excited to see how tech forward they were allowing me to quickly and efficiently input my information on the kiosks at the front. I had an ultrasound done there which came back with unfavorable results. I needed to get the CD to another office. I filled out an authorization form to have that done. I called the office that the cd was going to a few days later and they had not received it. I called Park Avenue back and they said that they never processed it. So they said that they sent it again and I called the destination again a few days later it still never got there. They only send your personal records regular mail so you cannot even track it. Apparently they are having a messaging service send it tomorrow morning, but I feel less than trusting in that. During this process, they have never once apologized for their shortcomings or have been even slightly courteous. This is a very serious situation and they should really consider that when simple requests come in.

Waited no less that 2 hours for an ultrasound. When I complained to the front desk, I was told that this was «normal». No apology at all. As is apparent from other reviews, the office overschedules and does not care at all about patient experience. Avoid like pest.

I made an appointment for 12 for an MRI.
I was seen at 3pm.
The facility is clean and the staff were helpful in the beginning when the wait was one hour but they became irritated with the many patients asked how long the wait would be.
The wait for X-​rays seems to be reasonable but the wait for MRI is ridiculous.

Stay away. This place overbooks their appointments. I had a 12pm appointment for an MRI and was directed to a kiosk where I scanned my ID and insurance card. About 10 minutes later a polite woman had me sign some forms. Then I waited. for two hours. I inquired about my spot and was told that two people were ahead of me and there were 3 MRI rooms. I understand that MRIs can take time, especially if patients move but the waiting room was FULL. I overheard plenty of other upset patients that had waited 2 hrs as well. The fix is simple, allow more time between appointments. The staff were polite enough but it appears the practice cares more about cramming in people and making $$. The bathroom also had no soap which another reviewer noticed as well. I see that someone from the practice is apologizing for these «unusual» wait times but one glance at the reviews on Unilocal and Google are evidence enough that this is SOP for this place. I had to leave after 2 hrs to get back to work and eat lunch. I won’t be back.

The biggest problem with this facility is lack of communication. I sat (am still sitting) patiently for an hour, accepting the fact that things beyond their control could cause appointments to shift. After an hour, I decided it was time to ask how long the wait would be. Without blinking, the receptionist snapped back with no doubt her pre programmed response to unhappy patients — that when people move in the MRI machine, their appointment takes longer and it pushes back other appointments. I’ll add that she had a nasty tone in her response, likely because she deals with these problems every single day.
Perhaps the appointments should be better spaced to allow for wiggle room or maybe the receptionists who don’t speak a word to you (thanks to the check in kiosks) could exercise their vocal chords and let patients know about how long they could expect to wait. I’m sure there is a way to keep people happier, at the same time making their day more pleasant, if they would just manage expectations better. I’d be prepared to wait a long time at this facility unless you are fortunate enough to get one of the first few appointments because undoubtedly people will move and your appointment time will mean nothing.

I had an MRI done here this morning. The reception staff were all friendly and nice. I thought the sign in kiosks were great. Simply put your license and your insurance card on it, answer a few simple questions and you are done. I was called in within ten minutes, had my MRI done within two minutes after that. Scott was the technician and he was great.
The appointment set up was flawless. The called me to set up the appointment within a half hour of my doctor’s visit. When I couldn’t take their call, they followed up with me the next morning.

The radiologist at this office was the best I have had in all of the many times I have had to have MRIs. He explained everything in great detail, and was very kind and extremely professional. The fact that they stream music through the headphones makes the time go much faster than it would for an MRI without it. While yes, the wait at the office was on the long side, and the owners of the practice should address it, the care seems exceptionally good — and that is the most important thing. Without the long wait, I would have given it 5 stars.

I was back again for another test. I arrived at the appointed time. I didn’t go early as I knew that would be a waste of my time. Checked in at mobile kiosk and sat down to wait. 30 minutes later I still had not been called up to complete my paperwork. I went to the desk and was kindly reassured that they were calling people in order to complete the paperwork and I would be called after the next patient. I was also assured the technologist was running on schedule which is really interesting as it was now more than 30 minutes past my «scheduled appointment time «. Having endured this place before, I let the comment pass. About 15 minutes later I was called up for the paperwork and about an hour after I arrived I was called for my test.
I work in healthcare. I understand that they can’t know how many scheduled patients will actually show up or arrive on time, I understand they participate with insurance and have narrow financial margins with many procedures, I understand they have expensive equipment in a Park Ave location & need x number of procedures to be profitable. I also understand that they can’t predict technical issues with patients and that they need to accommodate emergency patients. All that being understood, it is clearly SOP for patients to be kept waiting and I feel it is extremely disingenuous of Stephanie K to reply to posts as if it was a rare event for someone to be kept waiting significant lengths of time. I believe her time would be better served with arranging to use online technology for advanced check –in including all paperwork, being honest that your appointment includes x # of minutes for administrative processing and a way to notify you if they are more than 30 minutes late for your appointment.
Btw, free WiFi would be great. I unfortunately could not get a data signal, probably due to radiation shielding, but being able to work, read, etc helps make waiting more bearable.
Wish I could rate the technologist separately because she deserves 4 stars.
I come here because they have my records, are conveniently located, participate with my insurance and usually I only need to be seen once a year, unlike this year.
The woman who processed me at the desk was pleasant, but committed to «going in order «. Somehow 2 admin people for such a busy place seems to be about half the number of people needed to handle the patients.
Do not believe the time estimate for your report reaching your doctor because in my experience it takes at least 2 more days than they tell you.

Today I tried for the third time to schedule a mammogram here. They require you to contact them online (not phone) and then never respond. When you call them with a question, they pass you from person to person and finally dump you into voicemail. And guess what? No one responds to those either. In every other place but NYC, a place like this would be out of business already. The people on the phone don’t know the answer to the most basic questions. Total lack of standards and professionalism. Do NOT recommend.

I seriously don’t know why the bad reviews for this medical facility. It’s a clean and efficient medical office, I came for a sonogram my appointment was at 9:30 and I was out by 11… Everything went smoothly, my sonogram technician made the process as easy as possible and my doctor got the results in two days. I loved it from the check in to
Check out and definitely will come back if I ever have to.

I’d to return for a CT scan. Again I arrived 10 minutes early. Again I still had to wait about 30 minutes. The procedure took about 5 to 10 minutes. I was told by the receptionist I need to be there for 1.5 hours. So I left work early when I didn’t have to.
Second time wasn’t the charm. The wait is still long and reception does not know what they are doing.
If you are wondering why I returned after a bad experience, my doctor refers people here plus it’s within walking distance from my office.

Boo, this place. I waited 45 minutes before they gave me paperwork and 2 hours for my MRI. I had to actually walk up and ask for my paper work so I could leave and go someplace else. At that point hey apologized. I said «So I’m next» and they said «Yes», made a quick call and sent me in. 15 – 20 mins later my MRI started. Hopefully II’ll never need an MRI again but I’ll never go here ever again.
Props to the quick (almost) fix at the end. But it was too late.

Visited my doctor yesterday and he requested I have an MRI of the knee. I called my usual radiology center, but they didn’t have availability until Saturday. I called his office back and they recommended Park Avenue Radiologists. I called and was able to make an appointment for the same day!
The appointment was 4:30 and I arrived just on time. They have a kiosk for sign in, but there were people nearby available to help with the check in process. The office staff was friendly. I waited maybe 30 minutes to have the MRI. The technicians were very friendly. I was comfortable and given headphones to listen to music during the scan.
I had a good experience overall and since it is conveniently located near my place of work, I will be back.

Super terrible place. First of all I was having abdominal pain so my doctor ordered for me to get an ultrasound same day so we could find out the cause of the pain. My doctors office called this place and they said they could set me up with a 3pm appointment.
Went to the place got there early so I could check in. All the check in is done at the digital kiosk. So I do it there. I go over to the counter to ask the lady if the check in over there was all I had to do and let her know that I have a 3pm appointment and was wondering if I’d be seen around then (I had been fasting for 6 hours at this point and I’m in a lot of pain). The lady snaps at me, «Ma’am, I have no idea just go sit over there and someone will call you, we have a list we go through.» Okay so what was the point of the appointment?
I sit as I said before I was early, closer to 4 I finally get called. The technician was very nice and was through. At the end of the whole process I ask her how long till my doctor gets the results, she says 1 – 3 days. I told her that my doctor told me that I’d have my results today as it was urgent. She told me if it was really important that my doctor could call.
I call my doctor’s office and they call the place. They tell me that I’ll have my results tomorrow. Today I’ve been waiting all day to get my results I’ve called my doctor’s office and they say they’ve called Park Ave Radiologists office several times to expedite the process but still no results.
I’m in serious pain and the place is run so inefficiently. DON’T GO HERE the other Unilocal reviews you read are correct in their judgement.

From the front desk to the lab tech, I found the service to be efficient, friendly, and professional.

Terrible billing, They never sent me a bill for an mri. However, a few months later i started getting voicemails from a collection agency on their behalf. The collection agency never answers the phone. So I am still trying to resolve it. Thanks Park Avenue Radiologists!
On top of this, they took forever to get the mri results to my doctor. All around bad service!

My OBGYN wanted me to have a breast ultrasound to follow up on a benign breast tumor I had previously had monitored for the past four years. I was told to bring in my previous ultrasound for comparison.
I had the first 7:30am appointment. I left the discs of my previous tests with the front desk because the technicians who do the comparisons hadn’t arrived yet. I was told I could leave the discs there, pick them up at my convenience, and that they would contact my doctor with the results.
I left my medical discs with this office for a full week. After waiting almost a month for results, my doctor’s office told me that this office claimed I never brought my discs for comparison. My doctor’s office prompted someone from this business to call me. They claimed I never brought my medical files with me and that I have to bring them in.
It took being on hold and telling them every person I spoke to for this office to finally admit they made the mistake and not me. Apparently they claim their staff never delivered my records to the medical department (even though that’s where I picked them up from in person).
It’s been over a month since I had the procedure, I have no results, and I have to waste my time to bring back my discs for them to actually do their jobs all because of their gross incompetence. What happened to me here is complete negligence which is utterly unacceptable in the medical field. I wouldn’t doubt serious incidents of medical malpractice here. Utterly contemptible negligence is what this place boils down to. Disgusting… AVOID this place, it could save your life.
Lastly, I suggest you read the reviews here carefully. It seems the business only replies to ones complaining about waiting time and avoids any with serious issues. It seems that even they don’t even attempt to hide or apologize for how horrendously they don’t even attempt to do their jobs

I arrived early for my 12pm appointment. I sat there for over 2 hours. Once they finally told me to go downstairs for my MRI, I ended up waiting another hour… Over a 3 hour wait… RIDICULOUS! They over book X 10.

I can’t speak for all the one star reviews here. Everything went very smoothly for me here. I needed an MRI of my knee asap to decide whether or not I’d continue training for a half marathon. All this was very last minute, but after calling a number of nearby locations, this was the earliest availability (following evening).
It’s a bit pricey, since I need to pay my deductible, and cost me $ 304. But once I arrived, I just sorted my info on this kiosk, and waited just a few minutes before being set up to be scanned. The receptionist and tech were both very nice, and my results got to my doctor within 2 business days.

Really surprised by the bad reviews.
After using the personal check in kiosks and filling out additional paperwork as it was my first visit, I was called a little after 5 – 7 minutes. I walked to the MRI area and was offered a gown and small space to change in. Though the tech was looking for new gowns I opted to just go clothed as I had listened prior to coming to not wear anything metal.
MRI took about 20minutes and my tech was extremely nice, I went to ask his name after I changed but he had run upstairs to give my info in.
Was a much better experience than I anticipated
