As a family owned business, we pride ourselves in our product variety and our hospitality. Every guest that walks in can rest assured that they will be provided with our knowledge and expertise to aid them in selecting the perfect wine and liquor for any and all occasions.

History

Established in 2009.

When we purchased this long standing neighborhood store, we remodeled its façade and completely revamped its interior space in order to offer our Washington Heights and visiting guests a one of a kind, warm, and inviting space to discover all that wine has to offer.

We have, since then, grown as a part of the community and welcome both familiar and new faces.

This is a stand-​out business in the Washington Heights area. I started coming here last year and now am a regular. The associate (who may be the owner?) is exceptionally friendly and warm, with great suggestions. He knows all about every single product and they get new wines frequently, which is fun because I always like trying new reds. Last Friday, I bought a Petit Verdot at his suggestion. I hadn’t yet tried that varietal, but it was lovely. Another woman was behind the counter and offered us samples of a refreshing white wine spritzer.
Also, now they deliver!
The prices are very reasonable. You can find bottles starting as low as ten bucks, and even if you must want something small, a quarter bottle of cab is only $ 3.50!
We’re lucky to have such a nice wine shop in the heights!

My wife and I live nearby. We have been here dozens and dozens of times and are always warmly welcomed! The place is clean, organized, and well run. Great selections! The recommendations we’ve gotten have always been spot on! There may be some places nearby that are cheaper but for the quality, customer service, and overall care that Patagonia provides, this is the only place in the neighborhood we go!

A hidden gem, this place is the only place i can find my Tej honey wine actually imported from Ethiopia, not the cheap U.S. made rip offs. They always have a wide array of red & whites, and not overly pricey. I

Patagonia Wine and Spirits is such a great find! The owner is kind and knowledgeable. I love walking in and looking around or getting recommendations. I’m always met with a smile and a «hey, how’ve you been?» This kind of service makes for a warm atmosphere and I’ve always been satisfied with the wine I’ve bought here.
They have awesome FREE delivery service with very flexible times. I’ve been able to get more wine mid-​dinner party and it’s as easy as «hey, I’d like 1 cabernet sauvignon and 1 pinot noir all totaling $ 40» and the owner picks them and they are at my door in 10 minutes true to price, true to taste. I’m just so pleased with this gem in my neighborhood!

This place is great! The guy I always see behind the counter could be the owner? Not sure but he is always helpful and friendly. I hate that the bottles don’t have prices on them, which appears to be a trend in wine shops now, but the pleasant customer service and nicely organized shop make up for it. I’ve gotten some decent and fairly inexpensive bottles there.
And he gave me a big tied up pile of broken down boxes for me to use for my move. Lifesaver!

On our anniversary night my boyfriend and I ran out of champagne. We called Patagonia and they happily delivered (for free) a chilled bottle of $ 13 champagne in less than 5 minutes. It was a magical experience, and one of those «only in New York» moments. They also took our credit card information over the phone since we didn’t have cash on hand. Perfect!

Amazing customer service and knowledgeable staff. Not just your average liquors. I have purchased 15 year old aged whiskey (Usquebach) and premium vodka (Blat), but my all time favorite is the selection of Mexican tequilas (1921), especially the «Crema de Tequila». Every time I drop by, the owners, Misrael & Mirella always have a smile to share. Best of all? They DELIVER!!! This is a quality establishment ran by some classy folks.

Expensive! Bottles of red are generally 14 $ and up. They do have a sale bin of mixed $ 10 bottles. Also, the price labels are on the back of the bottles so you have to swivel each bottle around to check. Make sure you do as the $ 35-​$ 80 bottles are next to the $ 14 (plus $ 1.25 tax) ones. The staff is friendly. There are two wine stores that sell much cheaper within a couple of blocks. These prices wouldnt make it at 86th and Amstdm, nevermind 158th. Best of luck, theyll need it.

Patagonia is a small, locally run wine and spirits store at the corner of 159 and Amsterdam. They are my top choice for the Washington Heights area because of their broad selection and exceptional service.
The man who owns the store is always very friendly and eager to offer drink recommendations to his customers. You can tell he loves meeting people from the neighborhood and suggesting beverages for any occasion.
The shop has been recently renovated which makes for a pleasant experience while you browse. Everything is also reasonably priced. You’ll undoubtedly leave with a great bottle or two, and be ready to come back another day.
