i went 6 times and didnt see any results because it is not a laser hair removal machine!

Never by a Unilocal groupon for extended service like this.
Not sure who is the fraud in this situation, but they refuse to answer the phone, and call me back.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR LASER OR ANY OTHER SERVICE FOR THAT MATTER.
Like many other Unilocalers I purchased a groupon deal for a year of unlimited laser hair removal. It took 2 months before I was able to get my first appointment. At my first appointment she left me alone to get ready for the session and I noticed that the machine is an IPL one (see picture). That’s the first strike.
Once the session was done I went to the front desk to pay tax on the groupon and she insinuates that I HAVE TO leave a tip. Strike 2
She writes down appointments in a very messy/​unorganized notebook. Strike 3
After scheduling an appointment weeks in advance I get a call (anonymous #) from her a couple of days before my appt saying that the place is being renovated and she will call again to reschedule. That was weeks ago and not yet a word from her. Strike 4
I’ve passed by the location a couple of times at different times of the day to see if it is open. It looks like this place is closed. Strike 974,912
Word of advise: don’t even bother with this place.

Trying to make an appointment at this place is a nightmare, I got a laser hair removal deal on groupon for this place in August. I called to schedule an appointment and no one ever picks up the phone. Finally when someone did pick up they said they’re booked and they’ll call me back, but never call back. Then I tried to email a few times and would never hear back, in the end it took me over a month to finally get my first appointment.
The customer service of this place is below average if I’m being nice. Any kind of complaint you have as a customer, their first response is to blame you. I mentioned how it took me so long to even get my first appointment when I got there and the first thing the technician said to me was, «oh you need to leave us a message.» I said I did, I left several messages when no one picked up the phone and emailed. Her response was, «we’re very busy, you need to give us time and call us to make your appointment» Obviously she wasn’t even listening to what I was saying if I had already told her I called several times. There was no point in continuing this conversation since it’s not going to result in any improvement.
By my last appointment I spent 2 months trying to make my final appointment and ended up having to forfeit the final appointment because they wouldn’t pick up my calls, or return my messages or emails.
The laser treatment was done very quickly, for all 3 areas it only took roughly 6 – 8 minutes each time. I honestly don’t even know if anything was really done at all because I saw absolutely no results, no difference at all not even slower hair growth or anything.
This is not my first time getting laser treatment so I know about how many treatments it should take for me to see at least some results, but I had 4 sessions and was never able to make my final appointment but saw ABSOLUTELY no difference. It was a complete waste of my time and money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is an utter scam.
I bought a Groupon for one year of laser hair removal, which works out to 12 sessions.
Firstly, I am over Groupon, as vendors, I feel look down on you for using the service and presenting the certificate.
Pearl Beauty Spa couldn’t have done more to be difficult when it came to making appointments, even at one point insisting that I missed an appointment that I never made.
The people who conduct the treatments literally sit in there, with the lights off when clients are not in there. I’d call them Beauty Therapist, but they are by no account skilled or professional.
FYI: I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms in bars.
This place is an utter scam. Kicker is, I got an email from Groupon/​Pearl Beauty stating that they were not honoring the originally agreed too, and paid for terms of service. It was now, no longer a year, but 8 sessions, and I had had 4 treatments. When I called to clarify, the vulgar rat of a woman that works there was abusive on the phone. The same old indian lady that other Unilocal reviewers have commented on.
I warn you, run hard, run fast, save your cash, and get your laser done somewhere reputable.

So I’ve been calling this place since sept because I had to cancel my appt a few days before, no ever picked up and then finally te Indian lady said they were renovating… that was in oct and I went last week only to see the place is closed and the number is out of service… I am furious!!! I only had 4 sessions out of a year from the groupon I bought, I hope groupon makes up for it because now I need to find a new laser place ! Worst laser place ever too… results were barely noticeable …

I think this place is out of business. I had an appointment today and when I got there it was all boarded up and when I called te number was out of service. I’m furious because I came down all the way from Riverdale and wasn’t feeling well, but didn’t want to be charged for canceling same day. This place never calls to confirm appointments the day before like most places do, and when i have called in the past they barely ever picked up and never called back if I left a message.
I wish this didn’t happen because I think the laser was really working on me. Was thinking of doing underarms after my legs. It’s just so lame that they did not cancel people’s appointments even if there was some sort of emergency. Very pissed off.

I had used this place for laser hair removal. Purchased a Groupon for 8 sessions.
I really did not know what to expect but it was overall a pleasant experience. I never had to wait long and the laser process itself was very quick. It was relatively painless, but somewhat uncomfortable because of the cold feeling/​pressure. Still beats a wax any day. I did Brazilian and underarms. I did notice results — the hair did grow slower. Don’t expect any miracles though, after the 8^th session, the hair was still growing, just slower and not as coarse. The technician told me it’s different for everyone and usually an ongoing process — you have to keep at it. I decided to stop there and go back to waxing. For me, it’s not worth continuously going if you are still going to have to shave it. And you can’t wax when you are doing laser. I’m glad I did it at a low price because it’s not worth paying a lot for, especially when the results are not guaranteed.
The place itself is slightly shabby but not dirty or anything. The technician is nice.
However, if you do decide to try laser hair removal, this place has some of the lowest prices out there.

This is one of the only places I get my eyebrows done because they will use wax instead of thread, if preferred. She never takes too much off, which is is important as a blonde with almost no eyebrows to being with!

As if it couldn’t get any worse!
So maybe I’m the dumb one for continuing to go to this place to finish off the groupon I had, but the shit I was yelled at for today… Good lord!
So I get there early to my appointment. The same Indian lady with her 10 notebooks fumbles through, asks for my name then accuses me some more for not coming to my last appointment (which she cancelled because she said my skin needed time to «heal» after the last session which I don’t know how true that is since she was accusing me for not showing up). I reminded her that she was the one who cancelled, then she proceeded to scream and accuse me of writing her a bad Unilocal review.
Screaming and wailing all she mentioned were the cuss words and asked me if she did a bad job. I told her that the service wasn’t good, but she basically in an accusatory manner proceeded to tell at me and tell me I was a bad person.
After that I walked out and told her I wasn’t going to accept her behavior.
I called groupon to tell them the story of the service I got and they gave me a full refund back to my groupon account… Now I’m having dinner on them :)
AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

For laser hair removal, I give 5 stars!
Bought a laser hair removal package for 3 areas (Brazilian, underarm, and half legs) for a very decent price. I’ve been to much more expensive places and they don’t do a very good job and its painful. For this laser place, its painless, yup you heard me, p-​a-​i-​n-​l-​e-​s-​s lol the only thing you’ll feel is the coldness of the metal from the laser machine.
After 4 sessions, I saw a dramatic difference (but that depends on the type of skin and hair type you have, I am of Chinese descent). The lady is very thorough and and wants you to see results. She gets in there when she’s doing the Brazilian, like all up in there (well not all up but you get what I mean, I hope) lol I tip her everytime because she does a great job and I’m satisfied everytime I walk out that door so hey, I’d be happy to tip her lol

Worst spa I ever been I bought 6 laser hair removal but end up for 2 session because that Indian lady always hang up the phone every time I make an appointment always saying fully book. And it’s say in my package it’s full body laser hair removal but they want to do only half legs only it’s a rip off scam waste of money and time. this spa most be close. this is my first time write the review because she bully me over the phone that I can’t speak very good. very bad customer service. Not friendly and rude…

I came here for an eyebrow threading service since there was a Lifebooker deal and would like to clarify a few things for future wary customers:
1) The beautician didn’t wash her hands before starting the service. I had to explicitly ask her to do so.
2) My guidance was to «keep the brows natural» yet she took off a LOT more. I have thin brows now and will have to draw them in for the next month …
3) She explicitly asked for tip. While holding my $ 20 bill in her hand that I gave her to pay for tax (which apparently wasn’t covered in the Lifebooker deal). Tip is customary for services, obviously, but it is up to the customer’s discretion how much to leave. Did NOT appreciate the bullying technique for a higher tip.
4) The interior is much darker and bleaker than the images.
5) They tried to bully me into another service (facial) and I politely declined. My #1 reason being I didn’t trust that their products and esthetician’s hands were clean.
Needless to say, I will not return. No matter how good the deal.

Awesome! Just had my second laser apt. and it went great! Pria makes you feel comfortable and gets you finished quickly and does a great job. The spa is small but elegant, quiet and clean. Plus they do more then just laser hair removal. I can’t wait to not have to shave!

I bought a Groupon for a year’s worth of laser hair removal. I think you have to understand first and foremost what you really pay for. I wanted to get a deal on laser hair removal, have the process work, and have the ease of making an appointment.
I have been extremely satisfied so far. I go in, barely ever have to wait longer than 5 minutes, get my laser on, and then book my following appointment. The technician is nice and personable and tells me what she needs from me. The establishment is nice and clean. That’s all I need.
For a Groupon deal, I would definitely recommend this place. If you have money to spend on a more relaxing spa experience, then maybe this place isn’t for you.

TERRIBLE!!! Please do not ever go to this place!!! This is by far the WORST spa I have ever been to. I bought a Groupon for a year’s worth of laser hair removal. First off, they were completely disorganized. They made me wait for weeks before coming in. When I did come they were in a middle of a misunderstanding with someone they had not scheduled appropriately. I saw they had a notebook for the appointments, not even a computer!
When it was finally my turn, the lady, who played a double role of beautician and receptionist, led me to a tiny, tiny room. I tried to close the door and it wouldn’t. The purple curtain was broken and if someone walked by they would be able to see me. I got nervous. I was getting a Brazilian! I decided to try out the underarms. Then I saw the machine they used for laser. It seemed like a joke. It was a small, red machine that they would actually stick to your skin to remove the hair.
The lady was completely rushed. In fact the process of both underarms took barely a few minutes. She was unprofessional and unsympathetic for the pain I was undergoing. The pain was unjustified, for it wasn’t my first time getting laser hair removal and I have high pain tolerance. She just wouldn’t stop. I asked her what they used for the Brazilian and it turned out it was the same machine though she claimed they cleaned it with some liquid she showed me. They stick the same machine to upper lip, underarms and one’s private parts! At that point my mind was in complete disbelief.
I told her I did not wish to continue. I left feeling like I had completely wasted my time. I told her so. She was very nonchalant, like «Get your money back.» And I did. By the way, it was such a bad job that I had hair again the next day.

I bought a Groupon for 6 laser hair removal treatments and just finished up my third session. I was nervous about getting laser done at a place that wasnt a medispa or doctors office but read a few good reviews before purchasing and Im glad I went through with it. The groupon was for 2 small and 1 large areas so I went with lip, underam and Brazilian. There’s definitely a significant difference and that started after my first visit. Im hoping by the end of my treatment package I’ll be good to go! Staff is always nice and accommodating with scheduling and the facility is clean.

Skin laser remover, I highly recommend as it’s painless and works well. I see a difference. But that’s the only good thing about this place.
Eyebrow treading, the lady did a good job at shaping my eyebrows but I don’t think she actually thinks before she does anything else. I came in once for eyebrow treading and I had a pimple near my eyebrow. So instead of telling me that I couldn’t do threading, she POKED HER FINGER ON MY PIMPLE AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD A PIMPLE THERE. Don’t you think I obviously know that there is a big pimple on my face and did not need you to poke on it for you to point it out to me!!! The pimple ended up getting bigger the next day and it also hurts when someone pokes their finger on the pimple! It hurt me and made me very upset.
I also did a facial here once and never again will I do it. They do not extract any blackheads out because they claim that the steam already did the job. It was a waste of my money and I will never spend my hard earn money on them ever again.

I LOVED this place for Laser Hair Removal!
I bought a $ 200 lifebooker for 3 areas: lip, underarms and bikini line. At first, I was hesitant because I had never tried laser hair removal, but decided to go for it.
The staff was very warm and friendly and make me feel at ease right away. The rooms were very clean and professional.
I’ve only had one session so far, and my hair is hardly growing back! After 5 more sessions, I should be virtually hair-​free. Totally planning on buying another lifebooker for my legs after this!
fyi — you need to wait 4 weeks between sessions

ooof, that was the roughest facial ever.
Went w/​a spa sally deal. since it cost me $ 25, i didn’t have high expectations. but it was the roughest facial i’ve ever had. the person was nice but she was treating my face like a big muscle on your back! Her extractions seemed *fake* (she didn’t even turn on the spot light to see my pores) and everything seemed second-​rate at best. And she used some type of tool and started scraping my face. This was NOT extractions and was plain painful.
I didn’t feel relaxed or rejuvenated afterwords. I should’ve check the rating here before i bought the deal.
