Piece of cake? More like piece of shit… They moved my seat twice TWICE! BECAUSE IM BROWN I BET!!! All I wanted was to sit down with my friends and enjoy some nice dessert but no. I couldn’t. Now I’m seated by the window like a small child on a stool next to children who are making fun of me probably because of how embarrassing this endeavor has been. I will never come back again. AND my slutty brownie tastes salty…

Ordered the BLT between two toasted breads. It was a little messy because the bread was flaky and sorta fell apart eating it. I still have my hopes high and willing to try more sandwiches/​dishes off their menu. BLT was nothing special. Bacon was good ;) I wished they served a side.

This place has some awesome desserts. We bought a bunch of things to try it out. We got the peanut butter delight, a tray of brownies, the tiramisu slice, red velvet slice, carnival slice, chocolate mousse cake, and a white chocolate petit four.
I was a big fan of everything except the brownies and the carnival cake. The brownies were a bit too dense for me. The carnival cake was too sweet for me.
I can’t wait to go back and try some more baked goods.
They also serve food here but a rather small dine in area.

Hip place on New Dorp Lane. Decorated with a hip NYC Subway theme. Offers pastry and bakery items, coffee, tea. Tried a fig pastry which was delicious and sat at the window people watching listening to warm conversation and music. Great find on my travels through Staten Island!

OK so I’ve been living on the island for years and never actually had the chance to try this amazing bakery… I knownits absurd but I live on the other side of the island and always use a local bakery near me. Well, I died and went to heaen when a friend offered me a slice of some kind of pistachio cake from there! It was so delicious and perfectly made that I enjoyed every bite in utter silence… in that moment it was just me and that slice of heavenly cake… gonna stop in today and pick up some sweets for some friends we’re visiting. So worth the drive!

Love the sweets, fresh and yummy ! the best is the cheesecake, can eat that every day !

Piece of Cake pumps out some delicious baked good. Whether it’s a donut, cheesecake, scone or even focaccia — it’s all fresh & delicious.
Having breakfast at Piece of Cake came highly recommended. It sounds like a bakery, doesn’t sound like a diner /​restaurant. But when you walk in there counter to counter of bakery items & in the middle of this establishment there are several tables w/​wait service. They serve breakfast & sandwiches for lunch. The «Perfect Egg sandwich» was awesome & the Bananas Foster over the Waffle– HELLO!
Since we watched them take the focaccia out of the out we ordered some– DELISH!
Service was great & atmosphere is cool and casual!
Been thinking of trying this place out– it’s a Piece Of Cake-​DO IT!

Amazing bakery! Everything is delicious! The blueberry meltaway is my favorite!!! The staff is pleasant and the place itself is adorable.

Great neighborhood spot that consistently provides fresh, delicious pastries, cookies, cakes and other deserts.
Great hours, friendly staff and clean.
Minus 1 star for cash only. It’s a nice option to be able to use a debit card when I’m a rush.
I would like to come and have breakfast here. The menu looked fantastic.

Never disappointed at this place! The red velvet cake is amazing and always consistently delicious. Their pancakes are also a favorite of mine, the best I have had.

This place is great for dessert. It’s relatively cheap and has lots of option. Cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pancake, omelette, donuts, etc. There’s also seating and wifi so there are people who come in with their laptop and work. The décor here is really hipster (signs from NYC, antiques, etc). I recommend their tiramisu cake. It’s only $ 3!

The food here is amazing and they serve breakfast all day! I highly recommend!!! There is usually a wait to sit down and eat!

This bakery is amazing! I’ve only been here 3 times, but each time I make sure I pick up enough goodies for myself and my family to share. I particularly love their pear custards, absolutely fantastic. Their red velvet cakes are super moist and delicious, the best I have ever had.
Don’t forget to pick up one of those crazy cream puffs too. I wasn’t a big fan of the coffee cake, it was a little too sweet for my taste.
The girls working there are very attentive and helpful.

Really an awesome place. I loved the décor and the ambiance of this place. I’ve only been there once, and I only had the iced coffee, which was phenomenal (good, clean taste with a rich smoothness).
The only thing I didn’t find appealing was that the iced coffee only came in one size ($ 3.00). It was rather small, but nonetheless worth it. So if you want a relatively small cup of iced coffee, definitely check this place out.

Piece A cake is amazing.
I ordered their coconut layer cake here for a bridal shower and even though my design deviated from their normal design offerings, they were able to accommodate my request. The cake turned out beautifully and it was delicious.
I’ve also had their red velvet doughnut which is to die for. Everything in their display case looks amazing, the staff is friendly and there are always people inside, even early on Sunday morning.
Just make sure that you feed the meters if you park on the street– the cops come out of the millwork and ticket you fast!

This is such a cute spot. Their coffee is absolutely amazing and ordered The Perfect Egg Sandwich… it was just that. I regret not picking up anything from the bakery. Service was excellent, I let them know I was in a rush and they were very fast. Will definitely be back really soon :)

I come here for «the perfect egg sandwich». Originally I thought, «how pretentious, let’s see how good this sandwich is». I said that in my head, not out loud obviously.
So I ordered said sandwich and I ate the entire sandwich with hardly a breath of air and no words spoken at my table. Upon completion I sat, half in a daze and half in meditation upon how to improve upon this sandwich. For if I could come up with ONE improvement however small than it would not be by definition a «perfect» egg sandwich. Alas I could think of nothing. It truly is «the perfect egg sandwich».
The one possible drawback is after eating such a phenomenal sandwich, all other breakfast sandwiches pale in comparison. That $ 3 sandwich from the skely deli just don’t cut it anymore. And do not even try to recreate this masterpiece at home, as I have. It will end in frustration, a messy kitchen, a broken soul and a subpar sandwich.
The biscuit, man has yet to invent words that describe the biscuit. «Perfect», perfect would be the word I think. I’m not sure what they put in the eggs, they taste nothing like any other eggs I’ve had. I think it might be parmesan cheese, a hint of cream or angel tears. If I found a genie in a bottle I would use one wish to discover how they do it.
TLDR: get «the perfect egg sandwich»

To begin, this place is adorable! It’s great for a first date. There are many dessert options that all look equally delicious. They even have chocolate covered pretzels. Also there are lots of coffee and tea choices. I tried an iced cappuccino. The employee offered to put cinnamon and whipped cream on it. I took the cinnamon and it was quite tasty. I purchased a Boston cream pie. It looked impressive. The frosting and chocolate accents on top were great! I just wish the whole cake was covered in chocolate. The cake was moist and flavorful. This will be my new bakery for birthdays and sweet treats.
Update: the buttercream frosting on cakes is not good. It’s basically a solid layer. I hope they fix the buttercream recipe because I won’t be ordering another basic cake after this one.

I was on Staten Island for a work related meeting and arrived a bit early to beat the traffic.
Always in the mood for a sweet treat I started looking up bakeries in Staten Island.
Piece of Cake popped up as a location that was en route to where I was heading so it was a no brainer decision.
I arrived around 10:20AM and the place was pretty busy with customers; primarily in the dine-​in area.
That was a really good sign as typically this time of the day is pretty quiet for restaurants being between breakfast and lunch, and brunch is usually a Sunday thing.
Delicious bakery aromas quickly filled my lungs, and I was getting hungry.
The décor was nice with some ornate tables/​chairs but overall very comfortable looking and not too pretentious.
Let’s get onto the pastries I tasted!
1. Cannoli cream filled doughnut: I’ve seen other bakeries/​doughnut shops sell a variation of this, but this was my first time eating one. Let me tell you it was pretty good!
Cannoli cream had an excellent texture, creaminess, and sweetness. The doughnut was fried well and was sprinkled with a little granulated sugar on top. On it’s own the doughnut would have been good, but the Cannoli cream filling really made it extra tasty.
2. Black Forest Cake cookie: This was a very surprising cookie. Crunchy exterior and a slight chewy interior; the cookie did indeed taste very much like a Black Forest Cake.
The crunchy exterior had a lot of dark chocolate flavor (like how a Black Forest Cake would have dark chocolate shavings), and embedded inside the cookie were some nice semi-​tart cherries.
3. Raspberry Brownie: Really interesting as the Brownie had a thin chocolate shell covering a semi-​sweet layer of raspberry jam. This provided some cool textures when I bit into the Brownie; a crunchy chocolate shell, fresh raspberry jam, and then the brownie batter.
Overall I enjoyed Piece of Cake a bunch.

Great pastry, fun atmosphere, decent service. I adore the ‘adult’ chocolate chip cookie that is garnished with salt, better than any bakery confection I’ve gotten on the island. Their big problem? Cash only. It really grinds my gears that in today’s day when you have a booming business that you irritate your clientele by not taking credit cards. A lot of patrons are regulars, so you know that your aren’t absorbing the cost to take credit unnecessarily.
At any rate, I haven’t had any cookies or pastries I didn’t enjoy from Piece A Cake, so if you’re someone who always keeps a wad of cash in your pocket you’ll fall in love with place no questions asked…
