#Am I allowed to review this place even though Unilocal says it’s closed? Is it really closed? I was there just a few weeks ago.
I got the #Taco Tuesday deal. I feel like every self-​respecting Mexican restaurant should have Taco Tuesday. It was okay.

NOOOO this place can’t be closed! I was just there a few weeks ago. Margaritas, new management, and delicious food. This has been my go to spot since I moved to Williamsburg! I would come all the way in the city to get food from here. This really breaks my heart. I hope it’s a remodel.
The bathroom is outside to get to, I hope it is! Ahhh

I love a good Mexican taco but for the price and size I’m not sure its worth it. It’s slightly confusing where to order but I did appreciated the outside seating.
I never like to give bad stars but I just think for the number of taco spots in the area I wouldn’t choose this place first! Sorry!

Amazing little hole in the street. Great selection of tequila! The tacos are very flavorful. Excellent service!

Ordered a shrimp burrito smothered in mole sauce and am pissed I spent $ 15 on such a joke. The burrito was filled with nothing but rice and maybe 3 – 5 small shrimps. Isn’t mole dark brown? The «mole» was red and basically was some sort of red salsa/​enchilada sauce. My tastebuds are still annoyed I wasted their time on this.

A constant delivery disappointment, which is a shame since the food here is not bad. No order I can remember comes without something missing — a dressing here, a soda there, a side of sour cream. Their latest mistake came with a call back telling me, the customer, that I was wrong, when in fact, I was not.
What this says to me is they don’t value their customers, have attention to detail (check the order thoroughly before sending out), don’t care that one can write reviews online or about running a good business.
Can’t help but wonder what else they aren’t mindful of.

I wanted to find a place where I could get tacos similar to ones I had in Southern California. (Soft shell, no hard shell Taco Bell/​On the Border BS.) When the tacos came, I was excited because they looked exactly like those in SC.
Dead wrong. I was hugely disappointed. The meat was overwhelmingly salty and just unpleasant. My friend got a burrito bowl, and the salty meat applies to this dish as well AND the beans throw off everything decent about the bowl.
To make matters worse, our server wasn’t the best; we had to wait over 20 minutes just to get water and she barely visited our table. Oh, and the portions are tiny. Super tiny. The tacos are probably the size of my hand. $ 12 for 4 tiny tacos that left me as hungry as I was when I came in? I’ll pass.
Tacking on one extra star because the cashier in the front was super amicable!

Mediocre at best. This place does not serve authentic mexican food.
We ordered the nachos, but the «guac» and sour cream were melted in opposite ends, which makes no sense because that leads to two different meals in one plate…
Lets talk about that «guac», its not guac. It was a form a liquid that had no resembling taste of avocados and the only similarity was the shared color of green,
This is a nice spot for a drink or catch up after shopping since soho is so close. I like the options of the outdoor seating. But for food wise, there are definitely better Mexican spots in the city.

I have been frequenting this place for nearly three years now, and as many other reviewers have stated it has gone through some big changes. Most of which are a great improvement. More seating, there is now a bar you can sit at, the renovation is great. However after picking up lunch today, I am sad to say this is the last time I will be getting lunch at this establishment.
I always get the 2 tacos with rice and beans. For $ 10 it is a very filling lunch. However today when I opened up my to go box, the beans had spilled out of their container covering my chorizo taco (my favorite one!). It looked like someone had shook up the container before placing it into a bag and handing it to me. The chorizo taco turned into more of a eat with your fork and knife situation which was a huge disappointment and the beans ruined the flavor of the chorizo. Luckily the steak one was still separate, but as soon as I attempted to pick it up the entire thing fell apart. Again began to eat with a fork, however the steak was not well done. It had a grey color to it and just did not have a pleasant taste.
The past few times I have been here there has always been something that has been off, and for me it is not worth the $ 10 to not know if my lunch will be good or not. I will miss the chorizo.

Amazing tacos. This is the REAL deal. They have tamales, spicy sauces, quesadillas, enchiladas and Mexican beers among other great option. I had a cheese quesadilla, chicken taco and a margarita. I love sitting outside to dine in the summer. Affordable and very authentic food. If you’re looking for Americanized good, this ain’t the place for you!

Oh boy what a huge disappointment.
We came here for drinks because we were craving margaritas and upon checking in with Unilocal we noticed we get a free taco… sweet!
We ordered margaritas and a taco each and the tacos were so bad I almost wanted a refund on free. I was embarrassed for them. I wouldn’t recommend the food here to anyone.
The drinks, well maybe that will save the day. I had the coconut margarita and my girlfriend had an original. First, they came in 8oz plastic cups… what the hell? Second of all, they tasted like pure syrup with no alcohol. The worst part? They were $ 12, yes 12 dollars!
I’ve never wanted to give a place 0 stars more than I do this place. yuck.

Love this place.
I love this place because its exactly what it is. Cold beer great tacos and breakfast served all day. If your looking for upscale what ever don’t come. This is a fun ultra casual place that you can walk up get food leave or stay and have a beer. Its a classic dive with authentic food :)

Used to come to this place at least twice a week, if not more. Its good and convenient, as we go there on a 45 min lunch break. I really like what they have done to it, appearance wise. However, since they switched the management I have had the worst experiences. Poor service. I keep telling myself to give it another shot, it will get better. WRONG.
Before the change:
Quick, easy, very friendly staff. Would love coming here! Food is great and happy hour is awesome. Frozen margarita machine is the best on summer days.
After:
They have done renovations and there is more seating. It’s a good look.
Frozen margarita machine doesn’t work but is still sitting there, and has been for months.
Instead of ordering at the front and then them taking your food out to you, they wait on you. So you sit down and they go to your table and take your order, what not. Fine, but the people waiting on you act like they have never waited tables in their life.
Very unorganized. Doesn’t look like they has a system to who has what tables or anything. Very unhappy staff, so it seems. Nobody smiles nor do they seem to want to wait on you.
Not once does anyone walked by to see how we are doing or if we need anything. I can’t count how many times I have to get up to ask for something (ie lime, hot sauce, water, another drink, the check). And when I do go up to the front to ask for anything, I have to wait at least a minute or two for one of the three staff members talking to each other even acknowledge that I am even standing there. And when they do finally acknowledge you, they have an attitude and/​or roll their eyes.
Today, I ordered steak tacos and when they came out it was carnitas. No problem, as these mistakes happen. However, when I brought it to their attention the lady started to argue with me saying that it was steak. Anyone can tell the difference btwn steak and pork. I said no, clearly that is pork and I ordered steak. After going back and forth, she finally takes it and I get my steak tacos. Do you not know the difference btwn diced steak and shredded pork?
The service here has just gotten really poor. Also, their tortillas.
Their corn tortillas fall apart almost instantly, as soon as you pick it up. Apparently, they make their own tortillas now. Hmmm.
I want to love this place again but they have a lot of work to do. Still, good food and good prices, nice atmosphere.

I REALLY wanted to like this place because it looks and sound authentic. They even make their own tortillas but alas, they suck. Sorry, born and raised Cali girl and this just doesn’t compare.
**Just come here for the bar and drinks — like if you need shots of tequila and just want to get f’d up — yeah. They seem to have a good happy hour, $ 5 beers**
No go on the food.
Small portions — on the verge of stingy. I would think they would make bigger tortillas since they make them inhouse.
Fish tacos — missed the mark, although I like that they used cabbage instead of lettuce.
Red sauce — gross, tasted like metal.
Green sauce — good, killed it.
I left not satisfied.
**Although, I will note that they have a patio area and they are very dog friendly!**

Tacos are tiny. Good but tiny. Some of the best tacos I’ve had are from cheap, hole in the wall spots. If that’s what you’re looking for, don’t bother.
I left feeling hungry and was overcharged. A shrimp and two beef tacos for $ 16? Not sure how that added up, but I won’t be back. The workers all looked miserable to be there as well.

They have rolled tacos! They are excellent and come with all the fixings one would expect on a respectable plate of rolled tacos.
The regular tacos are pretty yummy and reasonably priced. I usually end up ordering at least 3.
Seriously strong drinks. No joke. One or two and you will be just dandy.
The french fries are just ok and the oddest fries I’ve ever seen, but who orders fries at a taqueria?
The seating inside is a bit tight, but in the warmer months outdoor seating is available and it’s just fine if you can find a table.
I rated it high based on what it is. This is not a fancy place, but I’ve done a lot of theater in the area, and hungry actors always want cheap but good food after a show. This fulfilled that nicely.
Also, I left a bag of lighthbulbs there once and they held on to it for me until I could pick up the next day.

Random spot. Cheap beers. Great nachos. Not the best in the world, but very tasty, nice about of cheese and jalapanos.
Great for a quick drink and some bites to eat.

This location is… fine. They just installed a bar and are serving margaritas and beer for the moment, though they say they’re planning on a full bar. It does, however totally kill any indoor searing space they might have. So, if you have a hankering for their (admittedly expensive) delicious fish tacos when it’s not sitting-​outside weather, you may want to hit the other location.
Also really unimpressed by the plastic cup for the margarita. If you’re going to offer salt on a rim, make sure it actually works?

after the nasty message I got from the manager about my previous review, I’ve decided to downgrade my review from a 3 to a 1 star
First of all, the place WAS dirty. The tables outside had food crumbs all over and not only the menus were dirty, they were also so dirty that they were stuck together by whatever sauce that was on there
And I don’t care if this place has a A from the health inspection. I’ve seen MANY places that was shut down by the health dept and later reopened again with a A. So a A, really doesn’t mean the place is clean
Second of all, the service really could have been better. the waitress had a face on her like you owe her a million bucks
Third, the food was really just mediocre, nothing stood out and the portions were tiny
Instead of apologizing for the experience by saying they will improve, the manager Stacy L decided to send a nasty message to me on Unilocal.This just goes and shows you how poor the customer service this place has
I will DEFINITELY NEVER return

Kay, so I have a weird affection for this place despite only having been here 3 times in my life. They were all first dates with three different people. Three different people who all managed to ask me out, meet me at whatever location and SURPRISE hadn’t made any freakin’ plans. First two times we happened to meet in this area and outdoor seating was a great idea and the 3^rd time… I was just really craving tacos and yucatan fries… next time this happened (online dating, yawn) I went with Minetta Tavern, hah ;-).
So Pinche, what can I saw? I’d give 3.5 Unilocal stars if I could — but I can’t so this is definitely more of a 3 star kind of taco joint than it would be a 4. Tacos here are $ 3 bucks a pop… they could be more generously filled, the meat could be juicer, flavor is usually okay and for $ 1 in Queens I don’t get «okay» I get «OMGTHISISANAMAZINGTACOBESTONEEVEROHTACO!!» so I know I shouldn’t be a meanie and hold this place to Queens taco standards because this is Noho, but… yeah. It’s a decent taco if you’re really craving tacos.
Tacos aside they do excel at making some BANGIN’ yucatan fries. They are amaaaaaazing and make for a delicious happy sunshine party funtime in your mouth as they’re crunchy, thick and always come out of the kitchen freshly made.
Pinche also sells your regular tex-​mex street food staples like quesadillas, tamales, burritos, nachos with all the fixings, enchiladas, etc. Prices for everything are reasonable, especially considering the neighborhood.
In the summer this place rocks because their outdoor seating is small enough to feel intimate, but awesome enough to let you engage in outdoor beer and sangria consumption… mmmmm…outdoor booze consumption. I’m all about the finer, outdoorsy things in life :).
Inside this place is pretty small, probably best for small group get togethers or one-​on-​one dates. Service is usually pretty good and their waitresses are super friendly and will make good recommendations based upon what’s happening in the kitchen on that particular day…
I’ll be back for sure since Pinche is generally one of the lesser crowded or pretentious places to grab noms and a cold brewski — also, they have tacos –_-.
