LATEFEESCAM: Beware of this locations integrity and business practices. (F) RATINGWITHTHEBETTERBUSINESSBUREAU Check out link The problem at this location is the lack of leadership and communication between corporate, the managers and staff. My issue was regarding billing. In the month of June and July I received two letters from corporate stating that I owe a balance and a late fee, which is inaccurate because I paid all my charges in person at this location during those months with one of their reps and also the manager. When I went back to discuss the issue with Miguel Delacruz(the manager at W126st & Lenox Ave) he said you still owe a fee. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and paid the bill after he explained why. This past week I received another letter stating that I have a new balance of $ 20 again. Which doesn’t make any sense when I paid everything off last month. I went there this morning to discuss the same problem, and he kept pointing to the 10th of month, which is the date he said my account was suppose to be charged in order to not receive any late fees. That’s completely understandable. When I came to pay off all previous charges on 6÷18÷2013 and 7÷20÷13 Miguel and the other staff member didn’t make it known that there was another fee that I have pay next month. So the scam is not updating their database so they can charge their customer $ 10 to $ 20 each month for late fees. Miguel Delacruz knew that and never corrected the issue, but lied to my face and said everything will be okay from here on out. By the way I contacted corporate regarding this issue and they said to deal with location directly. At the end of the day there’s no one to help you. I really badly want to complain about this gym. They don’t have enough equipment(but have standard), its crowded, smells, and I’d never use that shower. BUT it’s only $ 10 a month plus an annual $ 25 fee in October. You can’t beat that and you get way more than what you pay for. I started going to the new one on 55th West Side who I gave 5 stars.

a person who wants simply only a work out is served well with PF. for the $ 99 a year membership there are no classes involved. it’s simply only gym– machines and then free weights available for that price. for people who have money issues and /or don’t wanna spend much money PF is the way to go. $ 8.25 per month — no one can beat this. PFPROS: absolutely cheap /for most people affordable. equipment is accessible even at busy times. the crowd at PF is ok. i have not experienced any kind of problem with an individual who was a member at PF. PFCONS: cleanliness is an issue-due to the slacking of some of the members-paper towels after using them aren’t disposed. staff is unprofessional at times. in comparison to NYCsports club: for a 10 – 13 times higher membership fee the towel problem(cleanliness) at the 145th street facility was getting over the years worse. towels were lying around in the mens locker room and at times at the gym it self. i saw water bottles 2 days in a row lying around in the gym and the staff didn’t clean properly. individuals who were leaving their towels at machines became more and more common . the new year resolution people joined in january and february and march-april. then the gym had up to double and more the memberships that it could handle. during the next months they all dropped out. in JULY&AUGUST the gym got empty a little bit and one could easily go on the machines. prior to july and august the machines were occupied after 6−30pm as they were in the early morning hours. if you went to another NYCsports club facility they didn’t tell you that you were charged for it. the atmosphere was nicer at NYCsports club yes, but you paid for that 10 – 13 times more money. they had classes and personnel trainers all around. for an individual who wants only the work out and no fancy stuff and no classes no trainers this is the way to go. for the fancy stuff NYCsports club is better.

Let me start off by saying my expectations are very low. For $ 99 for a year, how could I go wrong? It’s a decent gym with one full floor of cardio equipment and a basement divided between cardio and weights. It certainly gets crowed and I only go late at night. However if you don’t want to wait, go pay $ 150 a month and go to equinox. However I’ve never had to wait for a machine, only maneuver my workout until the one I want frees up.

Lelt me start by saying the space itself is beautiful. Big, spacious, clean. Thats why I gave it a 1 star. or else i wouldnt have given it any. 1. The entrance is so narrow and there are so many people waiting to get in, there were 2 people at the desk, what appeared to be 2 lines and neither moving, nor did it look like anyone was being attended to on either line. I assumed the people standing on line were getting new memberships so i by-passed the line and flashed my membersip tag, at which point i was asked by a surly front desk person what gym i came from, who then proceeded to tell me that there was a line. I said i was not aware of that and that it was very disorganized and she proceeded to tell me that it was not disorganized. Uhh wrong your very disorganized. and I walked away. I proceeded to the stairway where there were people just hanging out on the top of the stairwell, and the middle of the stairwell. THe locker rooms are spacious and clean but then again the club is new. I proceeded to use the bathrooms where i was greeted by an emty bathroom where some filthy person had not flushed. Its not that hard people(especially if you take a number 2) the machines are being hogged by people doing multiple sets while texting.(the reason your so fat is obviously becuase your too busy texting and not workign out) I took the elevator to one of the other floors and I get off and was greetied by a group of men just standing near the ramps(mind you the ramps are not that close to the machines) hanging out, checking women out, as a women this makes me feel very uncomfortable. This is not a nightclub. Suffice to say I WILLNEVERSTEPFOOTINTHISCLUBEVERAGAIN. I WOULDRATHERWALKFROM125THSTREETTOTHEDYCKMANCLUBORTHECLUBON225THSTREET. Decent space to workout. Usually gets crowded in the evening once everyone is out of work. Best thing to do is get there already dressed to workout, that way all you have to do is put your stuff in the locker and start working out. Gym is pretty clean and diverse.
