Came here last night and was asked, by a total stranger, «What are you doing here?» as soon as we stepped in the elevator. Then when we get upstairs and ask for a room, the immediate answer was, «No more rooms!» Thanks. Make a reservation to avoid the Karaōke Nazi.

What a racket. We came here with a large group and they charge us $ 85 per hour with no drinks included. The average drink was $ 7 each and when we didn’t order enough(according to the front desk) they«politely» reminded us at the 21⁄5 hour mark that other were waiting for the room eventhough we reserved it for 3 hours. The room was clean but the remote control and most of the song menu were in Korean so entering songs was an education to say the least. Very very disappointed. There are so many other places to go instead. They managed to make supposely fun evening into not so fun.

I went here for a friend’s birthday and was really apprehensive. I’d never done karaōke before, and was afraid I’d wake up the morning after regretting the ballads I picked to sing in my Lucille Ball voice. While I’m not American Idol material, I DID have a blast. You feel pretty cool showing up at a nondescript building in K-Town and pressing the button to the 5th floor, only to walk into a cool party scene that looks like something out of Lost in Translation. While the drinks are a bit pricey, the fun is pretty cheap. For a party of 20, we paid $ 10 each to have a room to ourselves for 2 hours, with endless snacks and throwback song choices(TLC’s Jason Waterfalls, N’Sync’s I Want You Back… the list goes on!). I’m pretty sure you can bring your own beer and wine too(check my facts on that). The servers and hosts are very friendly, and it’s just overall a fun scene. If you are looking for an über fun way to spend a weekend night with all your fav pals, definitely consider Players II. P. S. I love the home made music videos and animé music videos — you will too.

This is one of my favorites because I’m just a sucker for bright, neon colored lights. I came here on my last birthday and got the first room on the left, the really big one. I’m honestly a little hazy on the prices of the room. By the time the check comes and we have to go, I don’t know how much I’m putting down. I guess since I never got chased out of the elevator, I put down enough. The drink prices were a little steep though, but hey, its Ktown, what else do you expect?

I was on my way home after a holiday party and somehow got wrapped to go this place. When I got to the place I somehow bumped into my Aunt and Uncle and ended up singing songs from the 60s with them. Why is my Aunt and Uncle on the same holiday party circuit as me? What does that mean? At first I thought I was going to Players Sports Bar. I didn’t know they have a Karaōke joint across the street. Facilities are pretty clean and nice. I can’t read Korean, but being an ex-techie managed to figure out how the system works. Sort of like Mr. Spock trying to figure out how to drive a Klingon ship. I just wish they had a better selection of songs. There was two screens in my room and disco lights. The sound system was pretty nice with a random number generated rating system. I got all above 90s like an Asian should.

Wow! This place is crazy. There are these lights that light up all over the room and there are 2 screens. A big one in the front and a small one in the back. Make sure you get a tambourine and some drums from the front to enlighten the experience. Prices are really reasonable during the weekday. I’m not sure about the weekend prices. Drinks are a bit pricey. Song selection is probably the worst I’ve seen. The elevator is really slow. Take the stairs when you are leaving.

I’m not a fan of K-town bars, but I do like this spot the best out of all of them down that little avenue. The bartenders are usually very nice(we usually get a few mixed shots on the house) and the prices are okay(considering you’re at a Korean bar). The atmosphere is relaxed, not too pretentious/uptight but at the same time nice. I usually just come here to drink, so I can’t say much about their karaōke rooms. Me? Sing? Not even all their soju on the shelf can get me to do that.

OH, Ktown bars. I have such mixed feelings about you. On the one hand, you are so swanky and bourgie, just like me. On the other, you are so swanky and bourgie just like me. And, I am the only one who should be swanky and bourgie. Your waitstaff are such K popstar rejects. Always. Shady elevators to dark stair, it’s always a surprise when you finally enter and begin your cameo in a Korean mafia short. Every time I go to K-town, I either recall getting twisted at Blue(RIP) in high school or West 32nd the movie. Does anyone else’s imagination work such overtime? The drinks are kinda pricey and not great. Decent list of whiskeys. I am a fan of yogurt soju, or I was. My friend who brought me here did not know that it was a NRB [he’s in denial about being Korean] and I couldn’t tell when we were there. So the soundproofing is ill. We obviously chose this place because of the name. But it turned out to be a classy place for drinks and conversation. Service is wayyyy slow, a quick drink turned into an 3 hour affair. No PHD!

The set up is great. From the front desk to the rooms and bathrooms. Nothing is really old and dingy(*cough* Toto *cough*). The machines are convenient and easy to use. Unfortunately, they are very far from being up-to-date with their catalog. And why am I hearing the best House music outside of the Karaōke rooms? With a playlist like that, they should really think about changing their scene. Oh, and the help there need comprehend if I can’t speak Korean the first time around, I wouldn’t be able to speak later on that night either. But I have to give them big bonus points for hooking us up at the end of the night with complimentary yogurt drinks. Those things are so re-friggin’-diculously addicting.

GREAT place to end your night after going out to all other clubs. The rooms were great and the service was great. The TV and couches were set up so a lot of people can be there. They let us stay until dawn once while they were closing everything else. They were flexible and I definitely recommend ending a great night club and singing the night away here! The bar area also has singing and drinks and etc. So if you don’t want a room you can still song on top of your lungs with strangers. They have a great selection of songs too.

I do NOT like to sing, but i came here and this place was pretty cool. The rooms were pretty spacious, the selection of songs were nice, but it was kinda weird that the seats were facing the smaller flat screen tv. There were two screens and our backs were to the bigger one which made no sense, but oh well. It was fun and the service was good. They kept coming with drinks and they were nice enough to start us up in the very beginning because we had problems with the sound. They fixed it fast. I didn’t stay long, but i hear you can easily rack up a big bill(especially if you drink alot.) You get«rated» at the end of your song by the machine and apparently everyone in my room was not rated well. It was quite discouraging, but i don’t blame it– we were awful! lol. It’s all for fun anyway, so if you’re in the mood belt out a few tunes– check this place out and sing the night away!

So I came here during my last visit to New York… not for karaōke! Ha! I didn’t even know it was a karaōke bar, just knew that there was a lot of soju! There were about 10 of us and we ordered 2 bottles to start off with: yogurt and lychee! Both were soooo good! After a couple of our friends left, we decided to get another bottle, this time we tried the pineapple… that was definitely good as well! My fav is most definitely the yogurt! Also, each bottle was only $ 30! Holler! All in all, the experience was really good here. The waitress even gave us a round on the house! There weren’t too many people in the bar but now I know it’s because they were all in the karaōke rooms! It was a good time, for sure! Loved it and it made me fall in love with soju!

I have come to players only two times. The drinks are over priced but the place makes up for it being so modern and clean. The people are hip and modern and know how to have a good time. After having one drink and a bottle of soju with my boyfriend the bartender gave us free shots of JD. Vaguely I remember walking out of players and on to the street. If I ever go there again I have to be sure to eat more of their good food while drinking so I can have a better, less drunken time.

There’s a nice bar in this karaōke space with a bartender that made decently strong drinks. We had one of the larger rooms(enough for about 20 of us to pack in like sardines), and the song lists were decent, in Korean, Chinese, and English. While the place is a bit expensive compared with others, there was complimentary fruit and soda for the room — at least, after we’d ordered a few bottles of soju and beers.

First time to Koreatown! And I kind of loved it… Karaōke is pretttty popular on Friday nights it seems, although personally I’m not a huge fan. But after being put on the wait list at not one, but two karaōke bars, it seems I hold the minority opinion. We ended up at Players 2, but only after riding the elevator up a few floors, past an OPEN(it was midnight) massage parlor on floor 3. Both rides on the way up and the way down my friend screamed«HAPPYENDING!» in the ears of the receptionist(who barely even gave us a look). He’s 27 going on 19. Very modern bar when you walk in, minus the large jar of cheesy poofs(I kid you not) that screams to all the drunk kids that stumble in, me being one of them. I took a huge handful and loved every last crunchy, cheese crumb on my lips. Probably about as clean as the bowl of nuts at the pub. MMMmmmmyum. They had every last 90’s song that I could think of so I was pretty satisfied with the music selection. The game boy device that picks the song… WAYYY too complicated at 1AM in the morning. That thing has about 11 different buttons that are all different colors. I let my friend do all the heavy lifting. Bottle service inside your private karaōke room… ooohhh yeahh. The vodka and accessories accompanying it were probably the best part. But then again I’m biased, to not singing in public.

It doesn’t matter how bad you think you are the guy at the front desk comes in your room and sings«I’m a looser, and I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo,» with a heavy Korean accent, if that doesn’t make you feel better I don’t know what will! Gotta love the soju here and the food in your private room. Can’t say that I have ever had a bad night here. Definitely have some stories that could have ended up on Page 6. Modern /Sleek, great staff, tougher to find songs than I had hoped but grab another bottle of soju and it really won’t matter in a bit. Date Rating: 8 Pick up Scale: N/A(Mostly private rooms you won’t be meeting people here unless you bring them) Strong Suggestion: Don’t bring your friends who are wimps!

Went to Players after dinner at Seoul Garden. I really love the juxtaposition of a sports bar and sleek bar. It’s like the delicate balance of a man and woman all rolled into one. The 6 of us came around 10:00 pm. We were seated immediately at the bar which fit all of us and had room for more. It wasn’t crowded but it wasn’t dead either. We ordered Lychee Soju and just drank and chilled. I hear that there is karaōke here but I have never tried it.

Players II can be summed up in one word: Cool. The place is almost a year old and it still looks new as ever. The rooms are clean, seats are comfortable, prices are affordable, ambiance is stylishly decked out with a contemporary yet flashy theme, and the sound system is more than adequate. Players II is certainly an upgrade from the original Players, however its practically a different animal on its own. It’s more catered to private groups and thus is beginning to attract folks who care to sing amongst themselves rather than lounge to people watch. The song selection is undoubtedly the same system that other KTown joints(Players, Maru, Grammy, Toto, etc.) use as well( ) with its blue and orange pages organized completely out of order. I suppose its nice for consistency, but as always the more variety, the better. No matter, the sound system is great and most rooms have dual screens(one small and one large screen). Service is nice and seem to be more attentive here than most other KTown joints. I would deem players one of the better places to sing along 32nd Street and one of the nicest in the area.

Unilocal Karaōke King Tony L was who introduced me to this place and as promised it was a great karaōke venue. Rooms are well kept with nice flat screen TV’s. The room we were in encouraged you to get up and sing/make a fool of yourself in front of your party by placing the large flat screen on the wall directly *behind* the wrap around seating with the smaller screen in front. Ingenious! Service is friendly and fast as usual for Players fare. Service was so great that our *opened* bottle of regular soju was promptly replaced with a carafe of yogurt soju which was what we intended.

Sure, there are a lot of karaōke bars in the city, but none like Players II. The prices are very reasonable and the rooms are super nice. I am one of those who actually care what the room and equipment are like. Players II is definitely the nicest no rae bang I’ve ever been to. Flat screens everywhere, new furniture without the gum stains or cigarette burns. New mics, books, sound system. Everything is new. The design is very modern and sleek. I loved every minute. The menu is a little weak, but hopefully they will pick up on that and add more items to the menu.
