Okay, «delightful addition» does in fact apply to this fine little establishment. Harlem still needs more of this sort of thing, and the forces of gentrification are gradually having their way with Lenox Avenue, even north of 130th now. But the place is tiny, and I’m a little confused by the claims that it’s reasonably priced. I didn’t shop too carefully but didn’t see any bottle priced under $ 20 in the section I checked out. Maybe there was one for $ 17. So yes, it’s a lovely little shop. And it should be great for picking up something respectable on your way to a dinner party. But it’s not going to serve all your needs, especially if you’re just looking for a decent $ 10 table wine, as I often am. For that, I’m glad the hood still has a few bulletproof-​glass establishments that will sell me an urgently needed bottle of Fetzer or Smoking Loon. Even better, I’ll still often be stopping somewhere like Garnet or Sherry Lehman before catching the subway home to Harlem.

Lovely customer service at a gorgeous Black-​owned wine shop! I’d passed this vintage, French looking boutique many times before stopping in recently for a gift. On the night I visited they had just wrapped up a champagne tasting, but the gentlemen who worked there (the owners perhaps?) still offered me a glass… twice! Even though I declined both times, I decided that I would stop by in the near future for tasting when I had more time. They did not carry the Bartenura wine I was looking for but I was shown a variety of reasonably-​priced alternatives. At the suggestion of another customer and one of the gentlemen employees, I selected a sweet wine that definitely lived up to the hype; my friend said it tasted great! I will definitely be back to this location and I encourage everyone to stop by at least once… if only for the atmosphere alone, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Great neighborhood wine shop. The selection is nice with every price range, and the owner Mozel is a very knowledgable wine person.
I recommend the wine tasting /​live band once a month !

Fantastic addition to the the neighborhood, owned by a longtime Harlem resident.
This shop is a breath of fresh air! Lots of tastings and a social atmosphere. Best of all, they have a great selection of wine, including a cheap and tasty table with wines below $ 15.

Harlem has needed a reasonably priced wine/​liquor store with a great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff like this since I moved here a couple years ago. We happened upon it on its opening night after walking by Island Salad and were thrilled that it had opened. The owner was very nice.

I came across the store on a Saturday afternoon during an open Italian wine tasting. Wines were delicious, the store was filled with a great energy. They do tastings every Thursday, Friday and Saturday so I will go back for more. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.

One of the best additions to this neighborhood! Everything you want in a wine shop-​inviting atmosphere, great selection and knowledgeable staff who genuinely want you to fall in love with wine just as much as they have.
Be sure to swing by for free tastings on weekend evenings! Everything has been beautifully designed, even their bags-​add a little tissue paper and voila the perfect gift bag to make someone’s day with a selection from this shop!

Saw this gem on my way from the store and just had to peek in! A friend and I went in on a Sunday and they had free mimosa tastings with prosecco… yum!
We were greeted immediately upon entering, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is so comfortable and lovely!
They have quite an extensive selection of wine at affordable prices and I can’t wait to go back! We bought a bottle of Riesling and Prosecco. I love it, Especially considering how close it is to my apartment :)

I went to this wine shop and fell in love very affordable the owner is very knowledgeable about his product and the décor was just fabulous I attended a wine tasting which they have every Thursday Friday and Saturday and it was excellent FYI i travelled from NJ to check out this spot in Harlem and it was well worth it I purchased a red wine that was being served at the tasting which was delish and also a sweet white wine which I could keep my hands off of but this shop is great the wines are exquisite and the prices are amazing quality wines with out breaking the bank I just love it I highly recommend this wine shop

I was so excited to see this place pop up in the neighborhood. It’s so charming — great décor. Though the space is small, it’s bright and airy and if you’ve read my other reviews, you know bright and airy gets me every time. I was impressed with the solid selection of wines (and some spirits, but mostly wine) at very reasonable price-​points. I love that these are smaller independent wine labels. And the owner is super friendly and also totally hot. (Oops, did I just write that? lol) For this self-​proclaimed wino, Pompette is a delightful and welcome addition to Lenox Ave. I truly hope it has staying power because if it sticks around, I am certain I’ll become a regular.
