Pop Yogurt

A tiny little stall that’s embedded within a sidewalk building. The pricing of the frozen yogurt was average. What really stood out from this particular place was really their toppings. They had «pop lychee» and «pop passion fruit» which was extremely intriguing. The little balls of pop lychee and pop passion fruit just burst in your mouth when you bite down on them, giving you a little thrilling sensation. Definitely fun to eat.
One small little complaint though, the girl behind the counter was a bit rude. I’m sure it’s been a long day but you’re going to be getting more customers so just please, put on a smile and if not, at least don’t give the glare of biting the customer’s head off.

We got groupons for $ 14 worth of fro-​yo at this place. The first time we went to use one of the groupon like around 5pm. They were closed. The next time we tried, their machine broke down and it would take an hour for it to be fixed. When we did managed to get the yogurt, it was only okay tasting. The server was a bit stingy with the toppings. We tried to go use our last groupon today during the operating hours and it was closed. I can’t imagine how this place makes money. The mediocre tasting fro-​yo is definitely not worth the time and energy spent to catch when it is open. The next time you have cravings for the frozen treat, go to Pinkberry or Red Mango instead

I stumbled upon this happy frozen treat on a warm sunny Sunday strolling in LES.
If you’re into the Fro-​Yo concept, then this your place. The plain flavour is good, mildly tart and sweet. A small is $ 3.50 and for an extra dollar you can add up to two topping such as fresh, and I mean fresh, ripe berries or other goodies. The allure of fresh fruit has me humming because most places have some jam of sweetened syruppy fruit (ick) or random artificial sprinkles. Sort of defeats the purpose of a healthy, fat free frozen yoghurt.
Overall, a solid place, but I did break my raw vegan rule, again, gotta stop that…

The yogurt is average… nothing special. Their prices, however, are not just high, but deceptive marked. When you go, realize that the two toppings lines up with the small, the three with the medium??? The only way this is worth it is $ 7 for $ 14, especially because there was a frozen yogurt truck down two streets from this place.

At the Soho location, ordered the plain with mango topping. 2^nd bite, noticed a wiry, light-​colored hair mixed in with the mango. Took it back to the guy (Seth Levin, contestant of Hell’s Kitchen) who confirmed the hair and remarked, «it doesn’t belong to me.» (Yeah, so what’s his point? I’ve got dark brown hair) Got a re-​do without toppings. Nothing special here except for an overly defensive attitude.

I totally love frozen yogurt and usually most places make frozen yogurt and they all taste around the same so I will only comment on a few things about this place:
1– The prices are normal or within range for Manhattan. I ordered the Regular with 3 toppings and that came out to $ 5.75 plus tax. If I knew how little toppings they give, I wouldn’t have bothered and just got the plain yogurt in large.
2-​There are no seats for this joint but at least there are seats at all. They’re yellow seats. ^^
3-​They have a tube thingy that pumps out the hot air from the store front so stand to the left.
4-​They have the popular selections of toppings like strawberries, blackberries, pineapple, blueberries, chocolate bits, etc. Now only if they will give more of a topping when you ask of it.
Am I crazy about this place? Honestly, with the prices I am paying for what I am getting, I’ll probably steer away from it and come here only if I am around the area and feel that I really really need a frozen yogurt. Ditto.

Yogurt tastes good, only problem is the skimp on portions compared to pinkBERRY. I dont know if it had to do with the fact that i used a coupon. But i went two time with a coupon and both times the portions were small. Next time i wont say i am using a coupon and see if the portion changes.

It was OK. Nothing special. The waffle was actually quite tasty, but the yogurt was average and kinda relied on the toppings for flavor. This would be fine if you were going for a run of the mill fro-​yo, but it was a bit expensive (SoHo and all) for frozen yogurt sold from a closet size stand.

We, too, went with a discounted coupon, $ 7 for $ 14 worth of food. It was December 19^th, reasonably chilly, but bundled in our ski wear (ear muffs, gloves, boots, etc.) and having just escaped the DC snow, NY seemed like summer.
For $ 14, we were able to get two Medium (Read: Large!) Froyo swirls of Pomegranate and Original. Really tasty froyo. I had the coconut, gram cracker crumbles and strawberry. My guest wanted thin mints, but they were out: o (She was happy with her mango, strawberry and pineapple).
I’m from DC where we love froyo and yes there are many different companies who seem to do a similar thing when it comes strictly to the froyo, but offering waffles and soup is pretty different. The prices are. well they are what they are and for the people watching at this location, it’s worth it. We got the Mediums because we had money to spend, but I would’ve been just as happy with a small and the price would be comparable to other places (Iceberry, Pinkberry, etc.)
I’d definitely go back.

Like many other Unilocaler I also purchased the $ 7 for $ 14 worth of food voucher to assess this soho snack joint.
Since all the reviews seemed pretty negative towards the yogurt, my friend and I headed straight to the waffles section, which seemed like a better value anyways :) The menu is a little difficult to interpret, but after millions of questions to the poor cashier I ended up getting «the works,» which is any three toppings (if you want to add yogurt with the toppings it comes out to $ 8ish).
Naturally I went for the girl scout thin mints since they seemed the most exotic and paired it with strawberries, and nutella, while my friend got nutella, mango and lychee. We were very satisfied with our orders and the server was generous with the toppings, but the dessert wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. Definitely had a sugar rush afterwards.
I’d come back, but only if there’s a groupon promotion. The prices seem a bit steep if I pay retail :/

YUMMY FROYO, but way too pricey… definitely has a prime location though (not another fro yo place within errr… a few yards, which is saying a lot)!

This place is pricy for a froyo. The only reason I knew about it and went there was my groupon for $ 14 of yogurt that I purchased for $ 7. You might think $ 14 is a lot of yogurt, but it’s not at this place.
The bf and I got the «works», which is a warm Belgian waffle (think those small, dense ones vs. the huge waffle iron ones you get from IHOP or any other hotel chain) with yogurt and 3 toppings. (I chose original yogurt, nutella, strawberries and kiwi). We also got a small pomegranate with 2 toppings (strawberry and mochi), to a grand total of $ 14.30. So pretty proud of myself for getting that exact with a groupon.
I didn’t notice a weird consistency like the other Unilocalers mentioned. I was grateful for their yellow folding chairs on the street (the place is like a stand) since we had trekked from the Doughnut Plant. It was a healthy eating kind of day.
The actual waffles and yogurt there is okay, but definitely not worth $ 14 for 2 yogurts (even if one of them was super fancy).

I went with a Groupon coupon.
Not good. Two flavors — chocolate and original. Pricier than Pinkberry and Red Mango. Large for chocolate is 8.75 with 3 toppings. Large for original if 7.75 with 3 toppings. Damn… should be like Pinkberry and let me have all the toppings that can fit on it. :D
The froyo itself is… subpar in my book. Pinkberry and Red Mango are much better. The consistency was so weird and the thing melted within 5 minutes. The toppings are different though like the Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mint Crumbs and the Red Velvet and Banana Bread Crumbs.
Mmm…they also sell young coconuts for like 5.75? I think… when you can get one in Chinatown for 2.00 :P They also sell waffles for like…4 something and charge you for toppings. How interesting.

Pricier than Pinkberry & Red Mango by a $ but this place deserves stars for its TOPPINGS. No one else has it… that I know of… but it’s simple and delish. Let’s just say they got banana bread and red velvet crumbs!

Yogurt is great. Soup was fresh. Just tried some type of coconut water that was also refreshing. The owner was there and he is a real funny guy, it was cool meeting a hell’s kitchen reality show chef.

Cute and decent. The froyo isn’t quite tart enough for me – and it’s sort of weird they serve Hale & Hearty alongside the froyo – but it’s the closest one to me and I’ll be back. They also let me use my free topping coupon that expired in October. +

A closet stand froyo shop with froyo that’s too watery-​icy. Kind of reminded me of Forty Carrots. Went in the afternoon and nobody was in line, maybe because Pinkberry and Red Mango (which have actual spaces with AC, could be a reason?) is so close by on Bleeker. The girl said it was nonfat and 23 cal. per oz. She couldn’t do the division, only knowing how much per serving, so I did. It tasted like 23 cal. per oz too. They only ever have two flavors — you guessed it! Original and Pomegranate. We’ll see how they differentiate, but as for now, I’m unimpressed with the yogurt.
