Mr. Johnson has been recognized as a passionate, expressive performer, as well as an extraordinary teacher with training from the finest teaching and performance traditions that are fading into the past and becoming quite rare. He has also been consulted as a producer of over 20 classical and even a few contemporary recordings, which have received wide acclaim, including one being awarded High Fidelity Magazines «Recording of the Year»

He is an encouraging, patient and talented teacher for young and old alike, from the beginner to the professional artist.

Lessons can be in-​studio, in Daly City/​Excelsior area, and in-​home lessons can also be arranged in San Francisco throughout the Peninsula including the cities of San Jose, Palo Alto, and the areas along the ¹⁰¹⁄₂₈₀ freeway corridors between SF-​SJ.

I have been teaching and coaching musicians since being awarded a Presidents Teaching Fellowship at Columbia University, and directing/​producing over 3 dozen classical recording sessions where I coached the musicians through the sessions to bring out their best performances possible, even during a high pressure time sensitive «event» as a formal recording session.

I have also coached many instrument players as well as keyboard musicians, for such recordings, as well as for auditions, recitals, and participation in workshops nationally and internationally.
