My friend and I love all Pret’s.
The lines are quick and food is always fresh. The selection makes it easy to choose healthy food. There are many food and drink options. They have a brownie square that is delicious if you want to indulge. The area is also clean.

It’s not unusual for me to come into this pret and find that the cashiers are talking to each other and completely unaware that someone is trying to pay. It’s extremely frustrating. And because there are «separate lines» theres a weird mob that forms, and I frequently have to «defend» my position from people trying to cut me, as I wait for the cashiers to finish their conversations.
Bizarrely inattentive service.

Self service coffee and rude staff. I was not impressed. The peppermint hot chocolate was definitely a delight, as is the spaciousness of this particular staff. Good place to stop by with a group.

Klar, wieder eine Kette-​aber gut!
Für frische Kleinigkeiten empfehlenswert. Es gibt Sandwiches, warme Suppen, Gebäck und mehr. Natürlich Kaffee und Softdrinks. Alles Organic, wie es ja derzeit Trend ist in USA.
Der Slogan: Made today-​gone today als Aufkleber auf meinem belegten Baquette soll Frische signalisieren. Also, es war frisch und gut.
Die Pret A Manger Stores sind an exponierten Stellen in New York City zu finden (so testete ich auch einen im Rockefeller Center) und ausserdem in United Kingdom, China, Frankreich und Dubai vertreten.
Den Weg nach Deutschland haben sie noch nicht gefunden.

I’m a big fan of Pret and food-​wise, I feel like this location is on par with most other locations in the city. Unfortunately, out of the 5 – 6 times I’ve been here, I really haven’t had any luck with customer service at the cashier. In every interaction, I’ve been met with general apathy (if I’m lucky) or the kind of passive aggressiveness that borderlines rude. It’s a shame!

Consistently good food in the five Manhattan locations I’ve visited.
Question: Why do some locations blast music that jangles our nerves?
Statement: The first four letters of «restaurant» imply it’s a place to rest, relax and recharge; a place to escape the commotion of the street. A restaurant is not a dance club.

I love the food but unfortunately I’ve had some the nastiest customer service or lack of at this location. I’m spending $ 12 – 17 on my lunch so one would think the service would be on par. Even if I wasn’t spending a lot every day here one should still be acknowledge and not looked at like an untrained dog.

Fast forward to almost 2 years later from my last review for this place and the customer service still an issue at this location. The cashier this time just threw the sandwiches in the bag for no reason whatsoever, she was very rude… hello you’re dealing with food so a more delicate approach would’ve been appreciated. I told her, «can you please not throw my food in the bag?» and she just ignored me but got upset. Unfortunately, my office orders a lot from this Pret because of the convenient location. I have to be selective with the cashiers, one day you’ll get a nice perky one, another day which is most of the days they are talking about inappropriate subjects right in front of the customers, and then the rest of the days just plain rude.

Stopped by before our train ride for an afternoon coffee and snack. The staff seemed very energetic which was nice.
After ordering my iced latte, I forgot that I wanted a muffin. The girl just gave it to me :) It made my day!
They offer a lot of pre-​made sandwiches and salads! They’re pricey though but they looked good. You see a lot of New Yorkers come in for a quick lunch.

As ya’ll probably know, Pret is a NYC chain so the food is the same at every one — fresh, tasty, healthy, and a bit overpriced.
I’m reviewing this location specifically because I don’t understand what is going on with the restocking situation. I get they want everything to be as fresh as possible because that’s kind of their tagline, but they literally have staff restocking the coolers every 5 minutes. It’s hard to even grab what you want, and half the time if I’m standing there a staff member will yell «EXCUSE ME,» and shove their way in. Calm down.

This place was a random find. I came in on my last day in NYC. The ad for the quinoa rice pots looked really good. I came in and the manager was restocking some, we talked about them together and he ended up taking good care of me.
Area is a perfect place for people watching. I enjoyed my time here :)

I go there for lunch almost every day.
I know it sounds silly, but this place makes me happy:
–the staff is always very courteous. People are always smiling and dancing. Also, when I see them dancing I feel like dancing too
–the music is great
–I can do some people watching (it’s NYC, I won’t judge your beliefs, but I will judge your shoes :))
–it is super clean
–I almost forgot: the food is actually good. It’s not cheap but it tastes fresh and healthy
–last but not least: it is very quick and organized. If I’m eating at my desk I can be in and out in 3 mins (no joke)
I definitely recommend it!

Well I decided to give them another chance on getting the ice coffee down ! And guess what they screwed it up. Ordered my breakfast and paid for it, then 2 people behind me paid and I still didn’t have my ice coffee. Asked the girl and she couldn’t remember what I was waiting for and gave me the zombie stare and actually said to me she didn’t know why it takes so long.
So instead of walking the 2 feet over to get the ice coffee herself herself — she yelled out the order again and it took another few minutes for it to come. UNBELIEVABLE!
It’s called simple Customer Service and Training. How can a business screw up ice coffee orders 4 times in the last 6 visits !!!

Review by my 9-​year-​old daughter:
We went to Pret a Manger on our 1st day at NY .The place is kinda like a café so don’t be surprised if you thought it was a restaurant. Also the food is pretty good like the croissant I had which was crispier and not that oily. I ordered a milk which came in a paper coffee cup and the cup had a collage on it. It was a coffee bean picture and then they drew legs on the bean. Overall, go there for a quick breakfast.

Pret is my go to place for a very good sandwich and sometimes soup. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The food is always fresh and tastes good.
For me when I want to sit down for a quick sandwich this is my nuber one choice of a place. I love the roast beef with parmesan sandwich on french bread. Also love the ham and swiss sanwich. For the soup the lentil soup is really good.
I also like the wall art which I find to be quirky and amusing.

Dirty. Rude staff. Was not given a receipt. No light roast coffee. Only sugar alternative was Splenda (no pink or blue). Upside it was mostly empty when most other places nearby were packed (not a surprise in retrospect). The coffee was pretty good and the ambience is not bad. The music is a little loud. I’ve been to other Prets that were decent. this is not one of those and next time I will keep walking.

My favorite place. If you are into healthy and affordable food then you should go here. The sandwiches are fresh since there is a high turniver rate in this busy neighborhood. I have been to their London location as well but this one I like the best. Avacado Pine Nut Wrap is my favorite. Salads always taste fresh even though they are boxed. So yes… I am a fan.

Food is really great. I visited 3 times during my visit to NY and everything we had was excellent. The reason I have to give it 3 stars is because the service was not really at the level this place deserves. In one of my visits they were unable to make a decent Cappuccino (first one they gave me was a Mocha and 2nd I ended up throwing away since it was nothing like a Cappuccino). Another time they overcharged and could not give me the money back since there wasn’t a manager around. And the third time they had not cream cheese for the bagel and also told me they could not toast it.

Even though I’ve come in here a million (ok, like 20) time and don’t get free stuff I still like this location.
It’s nice and spacious with crazy amounts of seating. The staff is super friendly and drama free.
They have a good selection of always fresh food…
I usually pig out on the Italian Wedding sandwich, a mix of vegetables and cheese with olives in a flour wrap. Ooooh, and it’s warm. what? So good!
I’d skip the Chicago mix popcorn, it’s not that good. The reason it’s Chicago mix is because it’s greasy, cheesy popcorn. Pret missed all of that on this one.
The pastries are always good and always warm. The cookies are sooooo good.
The love bar used to be larger, then they made Love bites, which was the love bar, but cut in half for the same price. Yeah, we noticed that one.
The chips and drinks are really great. Love this place for the «secret» seating.
