The food wasn’t bad for brunch. For $ 14 you can also get unlimited mimiosas I think the only problem with this place is that it is extremely understaffed. There was 1 guy taking order, making drinks, and running the food. I felt bad for him but it really isn’t his fault. management might need to hire more people to work here

I enjoyed my smoked salmon omelette. The burger with Jack cheese was juicy. The space was small and it felt like sitting in my living room. The Ginger lemonade and mimosas if definitely the reason to come back. The service was slow but the one waitress did what she could and I felt like my service was sufficient.

Small, intimate Sunday brunch atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. After bypassing every other place in the area due to there being a wait, we found this place. Can’t go wrong with bottomless mimosas either. Five star Unilocal!review, for five star service.

Terrible. I want my money back. I thought it would be nice to support a local business. I had chocolate chip pancakes. The order came with two brick hard pancakes that smells like poor quality oil and a dirty plate(no dish washing machine?). The service was indifferent. The staff of four stayed behind a counter the entire time. They appeared to be dressed for different events, not to serve tables. Country music live performance was on two screens, one was projected. The news on another. One of the servers spent about 20 minutes trying to put an order into the computer. Each customer had to go up to the counter to request their bill because the servers were too busy behind the counter even though the restaurant was 2⁄3 empty during brunch. The décor is Afrocentric 99 cent store.

Very great brunch spot. Quiet, personable. Great food. Really tasty. Had the waffle, steak and eggs, bottomless mimosas, potatoes, coffee, latte… yummy and yes! Will definitely be back and will be spreading the word.

I wanted to like this place since its so close to my apartment. I was so underwhelmed by this place I doubt I will give it another chance. Décor: light, airy and clean one of the best aspects of the place. Food: Average or below average because of portion size. I ordered the breakfast special(2 eggs, bacon, potatoes). The eggs were ok, the potatoes were well seasoned but werent pan fried or browned. Imagine boiled potatoes served with breakfast– very strange. And to top it off I got two tiny pieces of bacon along side. My brunch partner ordered the bagel with salmon, cream cheese, and capers. She thought the bagel was day old and was mostly cream cheese. There was one thin slice of salmon chopped up in tiny pieces– but this was not a substantial portion to justify an $ 8 price tag. Service: completely clueless. There were 4 staff people but it took forever for our food to come out of the kitchen. Every question asked about the menu was like I was asking for the square root of pi. Please train your staff. This place has a lot of promise but right now its all wasted. Get a real restaurant manager in and retrain staff and maybe you can turn it around.

Soooo I wanna say something nice but I can’t. It’s so close to my house that I wanted this to be my go to spot but unfortunately it’s a no go. Everything is just bland… the food, the décor, the vibe… all of it. I think if this place was given an identity from the inside out. it may work.

I ordered a salmon omelet and it took 30 – 40 minutes. Then when my order came it was a salmon crêpe, which I ate anyway and was decent, though put the smoked salmon and capers on top of the crêpe that was folded underneath. I will not return. The only plus side was the free wifi, which allowed me do a lot of work without being bothered, and deal with the long wait for food. meh.

You know its a bad sign when the sign out front advertises«unlimited mimosas» and no one’s inside. Our $ 7 mimosas were 90% OJ(watched her pour them), and the menu made no sense. I ordered a cheap oatmeal that could have fed 4 people, while my boyfriend ordered an omelet that began at $ 9.95(yes, that’s $ 9.95 for eggs), and then was $.50 extra for all additional ingredients. Huh? The staff was nice enough but obviously didn’t really know what they were doing. I wish them well but won’t be returning.

It really depends on what days you decide to go. Some of the staff is really accommodating and attentive to your needs and others are just rude. I asked the server if I could have side of Nutella and he made it seem like I was asking for too much so I had to relent and enjoy my meal without the side I asked for. Also the other server seem a bit hesitant to come over to the table and when we asked for coffee, she looked at us like he had ten heads. The food was still enjoyable(De Munchies Salad has these amazing black bean fritters!) The only up-side is that I finally got to try the unlimited Mimosas and the deal is absolutely worth it.

Great spot for brunch. Food is delicious and service is friendly. Yum yum to the chicken and waffles. Also the mimosas hit the spot. My only an issue is that they don’t accept credit cards. Womp womp. I would still go however.

UnilocalERS, READTHIS(OWNERSREADBELOW): This review hurts to write, as we were hoping this place would be our new spot. Unilocalers, RUN. Do not walk… RUN to the next place. This place is nothing but the old«Skazzy Café»( Unilocal — 3 Star — CLOSED — ) with a new name.(The top of our receipt read«Skazzy Café.» Fooled us!) Will not be back. Will not refer clients. Chicken wings came out RAW… not undercooked… RAW and cold — I’m talking food that could have killed us. Not even going to talk about my salmon and spinach omelette — which was sans the spinach I ordered. When we sent both dishes back, we were put to the back of the queue and had to wait to receive new food(also still bad). Bottomless mimosas were flawless and bottomless… that is it. That is the only part of brunch that was 5-star, and one woman who managed to remain professional and keep a smile on her face. To top it off«their credit card machine wasn’t working.» OWNERS, READTHIS: Unfortunately, you are THEPERFECTCANDIDATE for«Bar Rescue» or «Restaurant Impossible.» Prices are reasonable, but when 2 of the 3 employees on the floor don’t know what they’re doing, it’s a training/management problem and something that deserves attention immediately. We literally watched as the two of you sat(cluelessly) back in the kitchen and watched your employees scramble to deliver a subpar product. I can’t imagine you will take heed to the below advice, but in the slim-to-none chance that you come to your senses, I challenge you to fix problems, which apparently you hadn’t before(changing the name from Skazzy doesn’t fix the inherent flaws of this restaurant), as when you came out to my table and I offered friendly, objective and professional advice, you wouldn’t stop smiling, laughing and scoffing at my advice/cry-for-help. I’m guessing you will be out of business in 12 months. If you want to as so much save whatever life savings you have left in this place, stop changing the name of this restaurant and fix the problems.

I strongly recommend folks come out and check out the One Open Mic that’s held here on certain Mondays. The next one is February 3rd. My friend invited me to one last night and the talent was superb: creative, varied, and diverse. Usually open mics are nothing but bad rappers, but these folks were very talented and their lyrics were really strong. The space itself is small, which can be either uncomfortable or intimate depending on your mood, but the sangria is fruity and they have wings(which I didn’t try, unfortunately). I hope to come back soon to this gem in Brooklyn!

Came here for brunch. Service is poor and servers not very knowledgable about the menu. Very expensive for little food. 2 stars for good coffee. There are better places in the neighborhood, go elsewhere.

I love this place. The first time I dropped by was on an Open Mic Night and since then I was literally hooked. At first, I thought it was a little small but that kinda adds to the intimate, cosy atmosphere– Fantastic place for a first date… TRUSTME! You walk in and you almost feel like you’re on a beach somewhere in California. The aura and I guess feng sui is covered. As far as the food… very good! The chef seems to have a genuine interest in preparing the most savory dishes for the guests and there’s a little community developing of customers who drop by regularly– You might even see me there sometime All in all it’s a great place with a nice atmosphere… highly recommended!
