Some online listings for this business show variants of the name, i.e. 5^th Ave Psychic Readings by Christina, but same address & phone #.
Here’s some some background info about me if you haven’t yet read any of my other reviews of psychics: In addition to being a scientific/​engineering consultant, I am a mystic, a spiritual healer and an intuitive. I usually get a number of readings each year from psychics who are strangers to me when I visit various cities.
Since I’m a mystic, my life is filled with Divine grace, and I’m happy and at peace. I want to stress the fact that when I get a reading from a psychic, I am not seeking help with any problems, nor answers to any questions, nor am I seeking spiritual guidance, and rather, I ask for a general life reading simply to have a fun way of connecting with other practitioners of the metaphysical arts.
So, when reading my reviews of psychics here on Unilocal,it may be VERY helpful for you to bear in mind that since I did not enter the readings with any problems, questions or wishes in mind, nor with any «neediness», your own experience with the same psychic might be somewhat different than mine, that is, your mileage may vary!
BTW, my reviews of psychics are for their psychic readings only, and never for any additional services that they might offer, such as healings, cleansings, or spiritual guidance.
After having walked by this shop on W. 43^rd St. numerous times earlier in 2013 and finding it always closed during posted business hours, I finally found it open early on the Sunday afternoon of August 11, 2013. I walked inside, and found several women sitting and talking in the main room.
One of the women looked up and told me that some relatives were visting to catch up on social time; she asked me what I wanted. I replied that I was hoping to get a tarot card reading plus a palm reading (I’d already seen the services/​fee list). She agreed to give me a reading, bid adieu to her guests, who continued to chat animatedly, and led me into a small reading room to the left of the main room. I paid about $ 80 for the reading.
The woman, who appeared to be in her early 30s, was quite friendly, and told me that her name was Cristina. Although her blonde hair was much darker then, she was the same woman whose photos appeared recently in a number of news media articles after her arrest in early June 2015 on charges alleging that she’d scammed a Brooklyn man out of over $ 700k. According to the articles, her real name is Priscilla Kelly Delmaro (Priscilla Delmaro), and she used the name Cristina Alvarez at her business. More at
When getting a reading from a psychic, I always prefer a cold reading, where the only things that the psychic knows about me at the start of the reading are my first name, date and place of my birth, and where I live. I prefer to tell them nothing more about myself until after the reading has ended. Prior to the start of my reading, I told Cristina only the sparse facts noted above, plus the fact that I was visiting NYC for 10 days. She did ask me to share 3 questions and 3 wishes prior to starting the reading, but I declined to do so.
I must note that Cristina was one of the few storefront psychics who has ever given me a reading who failed to notice and mention immediately that I was a mystic, a spiritual healer, and an intuitive, although she did mention early in the reading that I was «very good, close to God», but this statement, to me, is so vague and generalized that it does not qualify as a hit in this realm!
She did correctly note that I am self-​employed. She then proceeded to tell me a number of things about my past and my current life that largely either did not fit, or else were so vague and generalized that they could have applied to over 80% of males in my age range. One miss was the claim that I have three adult daughters, and that we’re all close (I’ve never had kids!).
However, she did manage to accurately report to me several specific things about my life that she could not possibly have known via ordinary means. One of these was the fact that I have extensive training in the scientific and engineering fields, and that I spent years in grad school. She also correctly reported that I am, among other things, a scientific consultant with clients around the world. Beyond those basic items, she didn’t get much else right.
Near the end of the reading, Cristina did try an upsell attempt: she told me that my aura was full of negative energy, and offered to clean it for an additional fee of $ 450, which offer I politely but firmly declined. This single attempt at an upsell was very mild and gentle, and not at all overbearing. In my experience, some storefront psychics can be very aggressive and pushy in their attempts at an upsell, but Cristina was not one of them.
Not a very accurate or useful reading. Would not return.
